First time caravan owners....love it!
We were totally new to caravanning, and we’d never towed before, so this was the perfect choice for us. We’ve had our 2016 Ecotourer for just over a year, and have been away for a few days at a time a number of times. We usually stay at caravan parks that have full facilities, and hook up to their power and water. We don’t have the toilet and shower onboard, which was a good choice for us as we have the island bed with wardrobe space instead. We carry a porta loo that we can set up if need be in a little outdoor ensuite tent, but if we can ...find a park that has an ensuite site and allows our little dog, it’s happy days! Have used the heater in Winter which was toasty, and the aircon in Summer, and have withstood heavy winds and rain without any problems. We haven’t had any issues at all with this little van, and love our times away in it. There’s usually just us 2 adults and our dog, but we’ve also converted the dining area to a single bed for a 3rd adult, who found it very comfy to sleep in! Stores in a single garage space perfectly. Also, the Gold Coast dealership has been very helpful with us newbies!
We have had our Eco-Tourer (standard) for nearly six years and have been around Australia three times in it. We ind it extremely comfortable and very easy to tow and to manoeuvre , but it lets in a fair amount of dust when travelling on unsealed roads. The cupboard space is amazing for a caravan of this size, and each storage space has been well thought out. We added reverse cycle air-conditioning after our first major trip, and that has been great. We also invested in an inner spring mattress to replace the standard issue one, and changed the...TV over to a digital model. Having roof mounted swivel TV allows viewing from either the lounge area or the bed. Lighting and power points (10 of) are more than adequate, and all lighting is 12 volt (via converter when plugged into mains power). We absolutely love it! Only problem is tat for the first couple of years we had to allow extra time setting up/packing up for answering questions and demonstrating for the curious onlookers in the caravan parks. Easy towing, no canvas, easy to set up. Nothing really
We have bought but not taken delivery, yet. Looking forward to the experience of towing with ease and setting up in very short time. Plus the fact it will FIT in the garage.... this has solved a lot of problems for me.
We like the clean flowing shape inside and out. Easy to fold up and down. Lots of storage space. Extremely well thought out design. Galvanised chasis. Very well built - attention to detail is great. Will fit in our garage!!! Looked at Coromel, Windsor, Jayco.
Questions & Answers
We have a 2007 EcoTourer with a double bed and standard features (no en suite fitted). We are considering to purchase a 2013 Hyundai SanteFe Hylander automatic fitted with heavy duty rear springs, will this be legal to tow this van.
They have a reported tow ability of 2000 KG braked - do you know what the GCM (Not GVM) for the vehicle is - that will indicated whether it is legal.
I am unable to locate a GCM figure anywhere on the vehicle. Any suggestions? The vehicle has been fitted with a genuine Hyundai tow pack upgrade which has a 150kg maximum download stamped on the ID plate. The engine is R 2.2 CRDi (Diesel).
Very interested in these vans. We need to know if an annex works with the shape.
