Does not dry clothes !! – This dryer only works on wet clothes directly from the washing machine and takes hours and hours - how can this possibly be energy efficient? We only use a dryer on very wet/winter days to finish off items that are not quite dry This dryer simply will not dry damp clothes Apparently, it is gentle on silk and wool hence the long drying time - but… Read more
who puts silk and wool in a dryer??? Clearly, we chose the wrong dryer for our needs - don't recommend
Far too slow – Takes hours to dry a load. and even after the longest setting, up to six hours, sometimes clothes still damp. Do not consider buying this expensive Electrolux heat pump dryer. Show details

Could be great machine but BUYER BEWARE! – Briefly - 1. Despite their advertising, Electrolux has confirmed in writing to me that this dryer is designed to emit at least 20% of the hot air and moisture out of the rear of the machine. So if your laundry does not have a fan vent, this is not the dryer for you. In my laundry, which is large, even a small load was causing water to condense on… Read more
the windows and walls and even dripping onto the floor. If the dryer is in a cabinet or an enclosed area, owners may not be aware as the moisture and heat is trapped within the cabinet, not escaping into the room. A problem to emerge in time. Following a technician visit, I was also advised that I needed to install ventilation in my laundry and that the room being cold increased condensation. I reside in inner Sydney which has a mild climate and on the very coldest winter days, the laundry might drop to 15-16 degrees, well above the minimum operating temperature of 5 degrees listed in the manual. 2. The heating condenser only starts up when it detects that there is a lot of moisture in the items in the dryer. This is the situation regardless as to whether it is timed or sensor drying. So items that have been hung out already and are damp will not dry even if time-dried for hours. If you try sensor-drying, the machine will stop after a few minutes each time stating the cycle is ended. This occurs even if the driest setting is used. There is a way around the situation - add a few wet items to the dryer, these will trigger the condenser into heating action and then the dryer will dry properly but it will take a long time. I believe this may be the reason why many reviews state their heat pump dryers are not drying clothes. 3. Noise is also an issue because the amount of air forcing its way out of the rear of the machine is much louder than a normal vented dryer. The condenser in my machine also vibrates very loudly as though something is loose inside or the fan is touching something. There is no way my dryer could be placed in an open living area. However, if the dryer is against a wall with a washer or laundry tub on the other side or in a cabinet, the sound levels are reduced considerably. 4. If you can manage the above issues, this dryer does dry clothes amazingly well. I tempted fate and dried cycling lycra clothing including padding and wow - bone dry with no static at all. 3 double quilt covers put in together straight from the washer came out completely dry and not tangled or rolled up. Sheets, towels and other items that went in wet, dried perfectly. Not only that, they were soft and very little lint in the lint collector which must be much better for the laundry items. Only nearly dry items cannot be dried!
This can be a great dryer if you have fan ventilation and always dry wet clothes, not slightly damp ones. Timer drying will only work with wet items or if the condenser is already hot from just having completed a drying cycle. Unfortunately, I needed a dryer to not emit heat or moisture into the room and to be relatively quiet as indicated in the advertising and buyer guides of Electrolux, Appliances Online (purchased from them), Choice and any other appliance retailer website you can find. I have been extremely disappointed in the responses from Electrolux and Appliances Online, (following technician visit) that the machine is not faulty and is operating exactly as they would have expected, despite their advertising to the contrary. So, I am left with no choice but to have Appliances Online remove the machine and replace it with a vented dryer with a venting kit. They have deducted 20% of the cost of the Electrolux ($250 approx) and will only provide a store credit for the remaining value. An extremely unsatisfactory situation for me as I believe that the dryer does not function as advertised and this should be a straight full refund to my credit card. An expensive exercise.
Exceeded expectations – This dryer is amazing and exceeded our expectations. We wanted to move away from a conventional dryer and use a more energy efficient Heat Pump Dryer. Spent much time reading negative reviews, with many reviewers claiming this dryer does not dry clothes. This is not the case, and we are wondering how these users are using this dryer. We've used it… Read more
for 2 weeks and find clothes are completely dry at the end of the cycle. Have also been impressed with the feel of clothes, particularly sheets and towels which are left very soft. We also find this dryer is much quieter, and does not overheat the room, so we often let clothes dry at night. I'm so glad we chose this dryer and it's definitely worth the extra cost.
Pretty but doesn't dry – I purchased this.dryer last month to match the washing machine. This dryer replaces my 32 year old.Hoover that was still working. Unfortunately it doesn't dry completely and even putting the washing back in doesn't dry it so I find I'm stringing up or draping it over chairs. My quilt covers end up in a knotted ball that are almost impossible to… Read more
untangle (buttons done up and reverse working). I have checked the manual in case it's me...but it isn't. I don't recommend this dryer, it's a waste of money.

Very surprising – Love it! It is quiet, does not heat the laundry up and most importantly does not need to be vented as it collects the water in a container. It has an internal light (simple feature but great to have). It is quicker than I thought and very energy efficient. Have not used the internal rack yet but it looks fantastic for shoes or delicate items. Well worth the extra $$$ to get a quality item. Show details
