Didn't work properly when delivered and never fixed properly – Freezer becomes a block of frost while refrigereator sits at 10 degrees celcius no matter the termostat settings We bought this expensive 520L frig because it was Australian made but obviously the workers minds were on redundancy because it didn't cool properly on delivery and attempted repairs have been ineffective. Excuses have ranged from… Read more
manufacturer leqving packiing on internal workings to faulty seals. Electrolux technician told us not to use freezer or frig temperature controls because "they don't do anything". Total piece of .... only good for landfill.
Never again electrolux.
No star at all if ever such an option is available – Customer care finally called me this morning and to put it bluntly, Electrolux management, if you're reading this: please invest in customer care courses for your staff. Either the centre is undermanned, staff overworked and underpaid or company morale is rock bottom. Was told by the customer care lady (let's keep her name confidential) that my… Read more
brand new fridge is probably frosting because the freezer door isn't closed properly or the seal isn't connecting with the refrigerator fridge properly. I've closed many freezer doors in my life and I am sure I do know how to close freezer doors unless there is a special technique for closing Australian-made Electrolux freezer doors. And if the freezer seal isn't connecting properly with the refrigerator body, surely it must be a QC problem from the Electolux? Well, apparently not and this can only be confirmed until a technician is there to inspect it. Then what is the point of providing a description to customer care on the problem and description of how I am closing the door?
To make it even "better", an earlier call I made (having no response to my email until this morning), another staffer from customer care described my problem as "freezer defrosting" in my case reference file number.
To the Electrolux MD and his team, please take a look at what your peers are doing. Whirpool responded to my FB enquiry at 8:30pm Australian AEDT and had the matter resolved by the next morning at 10am.
Nothing but regrets supporting Electrolux Australian-made fridge – I try to support Australian-made products where possible and in this instance, one word sums it up - REGRET. The freezer has been icing and freezer door filled with droplets of water since the day it was turned on. By the way, it was delivered on 24th December 2016. Called Electrolux and was told to turn the thermostat to the minimum, which I… Read more
dutifully obeyed as customer care lady who took my call said I've to do it or else my warranty may be void if it is a manufacturer fault.
Freezer is still frosting, water droplets still around the seal. Called Electrolux up. Technician appointment made but am advised if it is a non-manufacturing fault, I've to pay for service call.
Can Electrolux please explain why their after sales support is so so so bad? BTW, I did send an email inquiry more than a week ago and no one has gotten back to me. Electrolux, call me you have my mobile in your system if you intend to follow this up. Don't send a standard reply to email customer care. Enough of that.
Support Aussie-made goods? I'll think thrice.
Frosting and moisture in the freezer – Bought it off Harvey Norman as I used to have a similar product which was amazing. However, find it strange as moisture were forming along the seal and the top of the freezer. Gave electrolux a call. They send a technician down. The technician said it wasn't a seal problem, and it was the design of the fridge. He says to put more food in it to… Read more
reduce the problem. Head his advice and purchase food to be stored in the freezer, but it is still the same after 2 days. Call them up again, told him I wasn't happy with purchasing a new product off the floor 1 week ago and have used lots of fridge before and none had that problem. The customer service representative was very agitated saying that the fridge I bought was not new as it was manufactured 12 months ago, and if it is a seal problem, the warranty does not cover. He says it is normal and have to give the fridge 2 weeks to settle down. I have never heard of this before, that new (oops, 12 months and 1 week) fridges need 2 weeks before it works correctly. Very unhappy with the service here.

great aussie product! – have now been operating this fridge for over 6 months and could not be happier with it. excellent design, looks good, is quiet and has significantly reduced our power bill, cannot fault it. energy consumption is so low tht it would be ideal for a stand alone solar application. highly recommend. sleek, quiet and energy efficient
Replaced under Warranty – As per comment, Fridge has now been replaced with a new.. Doors all seal, close and I guess it is a whole lot more energy efficient than the old, as there was so much water in the rear container, it was about to spill over. I haven't even broken anymore dairy lids. Thankyou to Electrolux and their service team for organising the replacement so… Read more
quickly. There is absolutely no comparison between the two fridges... guess the first fridge must have been dropped on its head.. Extremely happy with my NEW Fridge and Electrolux. "energy efficient, looks fabulous" "just be careful with the Dairy Lids they are fragile"
ETM5200SD-R Why is there Styrofoam exposed in the freezer? – There are open slots with exposed Styrofoam in the freezer. This is not only unhealthy for it to be so exposed to your food, but this is a total design flaw which means the styrofoam and hence the freezer operation can be compromised if you put any food in the freezer that damages the styrofoam. You cant see this in the model in the shop… Read more
because who would think you would have exposed styrofoam in the freezer? You're looking more at the size of the fridge to ensure it fits within your space and whether or not it has enough shelves!
Electrolux sent a technician ([name removed]) to my place and then I never heard from anyone after that!! Exceedingly poor customer service! I had to follow it up because they didnt bother to contact me!
Now they are telling me the fridge is designed that way (so if it gets damaged, too bad). This is from a phone call to their customer care today. The customer care person also gave me their customer care email.
In the meantime, I dont have a fridge, I cant keep food cool, I cant use the freezer and this is ridiculous!
I dont want this fridge. It is poorly designed, a health hazard and too easily damaged.
This fridge cost almost $2000 - so it wasnt a cheap fridge. I would expect better service from Electrolux and better quality of fridges. I didnt pay that much money to NOT be able to use a product.
Exposed styrofoam in a number of slots in the back of the freezer
I had to chase up Electrolux yet again today because I still have not heard back from them after… Read more (+1 reply)
