Was a great vacuum for a while, but not now! – I purchased this vacuum approx. 6 years ago and about 2 weeks later the motor died. I contacted the Electrolux Help Line and they arranged for a replacement vacuum to be sent out. The new vacuum turned up within 5 days and the old one was taken away. About 2 years later the power head stopped working and again I phoned the Electrolux Help… Read more
Line and again they were great and replaced the power head free of charge. The new power head arrived a few days later.
Over the past couple of months the power head has again to begin to die (cuts in and out when in use). This time when I contacted Electrolux Help Line the service was terrible, didn't even listen to what I had said and straight away asked if I'd like to order a new part. When I explained that this machine and parts had been covered under warranty in the past, she tried to look up my previous history and said there wasn't anything coming up with my number. She read the number back to me that she used, which wasn't the one I had given her!
When you pay $700 for a vacuum you'd expect better service and longevity than 6 years! Really disappointed in Electrolux, especially when I have purchased their products for so many years.
When the vacuum is working it is great, quite powerful and gets all the dog hair, fluff and dust up from the carpets and rugs. Just a shame it doesn't last for longer. Guess I'll be looking around for a better brand vacuum now.
WORST VACCUM EVER – Worst Vaccum EVER PURCHASED!!!! ANOTHER issue. Vacuum is turning on then stops after 3 seconds and flashes 2,3,4 over and over until it restarts. I've changed the filters and bag. Still not working. What's wrong now? Seriously worst vacc ever. In the 3 years we've owned it its had that many problems. Wish we had got anything else. Show details
Frustrating!! – This vacuum is fantastic when it's working but it consistently needs to be repaired. The hose wires seem to disconnect and break costing me lots to repair. The powerhead is fantastic and sucks up everything in sight but it always breaks down and once again needs to be repaired or even worse I need to get a completely new one at an awful price of… Read more
NZ$209, just for the powerhead!!! This vacuum would be great if it didn't always break down. Apparently my powerhead needs a new motor which pretty much means I need to buy a new one, I just bought one nine months ago!!!! About four months ago I had the hose replaced due to all the wire connections, I've had that done so many times. Oh and the accessories are hopeless, they broke the first time I used them whilst trying to vacuum the car. Dum.
Awful. Constantly not working – This vacuum cleaner works great. When it is working. But the powerhead constantly stops working, and when that goes, the performance is terrible. I've had to get the powerhead fixed many times while under warranty, and now that the warranty has ended I'll need to buy a new vacuum cleaner. And it certainly won't be an Electrolux. Show details
Picks up more dust than any other vacuum I've EVER had! – Im really confused about the other reviewers comments, cause this would have to be the best vacuum I've ever owned. My aunt has one too and she loves it. First of all it's the lightest vacuum ive had, and having a bad back this really is a huge advantage. I usually have the vacuum on suction 4 because level 5 is too powerful, it sometimes lifts my… Read more
carpets! I also love the fact that the controls are on the handle. i dont have to bend down and turn it off every time i need to move something. I have a very small laundry so i like that i can store it upright and the handle slips in to a slot behind the machine. The cord sometimes gets stuck but i pull it out slightly and it retracts easily. What vacuum don't you have to do that for!?
I use the little tool that comes with it to vacuum my cupboards, bathroom (all the hair), fly screens, blinds and even my indoor plants (on level 1).
Ive had this one for 1 1/2 years now and my aunty has had hers for over a year too.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a completely dust free home.
Worst buy – We bought this vacuum on the advice of Harvey Norman instead of a Dyson. We should have bought the Dyson! The power head that sold us on this vac has broken more times than i can count. The first head was repaired and modified by me as i gave up chasing Harvey Norman and electrolux. I modified and repaired myself as parts are like hens teeth but i… Read more
gave up thinking it's bad luck and bought a new head. It lasted 2 weeks! This time the drive shaft for the pulley broke. Again i can't find spares including electrolux site so I'll be making a new drive. $700 for a vac that is not fit for purpose and i feel ripped off. Funny you need a maintenance fitter to re engineer a simple piece of kit as a belt drive.
Vaccum well when working but extremely poor quality machine – Paid $800 from godfreys, machine worked well initially with no hicupps then one day it cut off. Turns out the bag was completely full and wasnt emptied as the sbag feature hadnt lit up. Took it to get it looked at under warranty and they told me that i shouldnt rely on the sbag feature and i should of checked the bag. Now the motor has blown as… Read more
particals have found there way in there and the machine is set for the tip. Absolute disgraceful service by electrolux! Overall, machine looks great aesthetically but the inner components are as poor and reliable as the electrolux customer service dept.
