I would not personally choose this mob if you were in a state with separate ambulance costs. They appear not to understand the concept very well and apply the associated costs differently state to state. They certainly don't explain it well to their members, in my opinion. Be extremely careful or you can be left with severe financial hardship for simply accessing a service arranged by a third party (hospital) you didn't even request. Show details

Excellent care – I feel like I'm being looked after to the best of the fund's ability. I really appreciate that there has been no gap whenever I've been admitted to a private hospital. Allied health providers like optometrists and dentists are often surprised by the size of my rebate. I wouldn't consider changing and recommend to all my friends who might be eligible. Show details

Highly recommended health insurance – I have been using Emergency Health Services for extras only (physio, hearing aids, glasses, dental, etc) for 2-3 years. I can highly recommend them as awesome value. The out of pocket expenses are the lowest I have ever experienced. Some of the ancillary services also roll over. Easy and quick claim process, lots of hospital options and no unexpected expenses – I have found Emergency Services Health extremely easy to deal with and good value. Although it is not the cheapest policy on the market I have found the claim process extremely easy and I have never had to pay any out of pocket expenses. Not the best coverage because of a dispute – They are in dispute with a health care provider and may not cover your local hospital. Can’t say when or if they will come to an arrangement. Meantime very large excess applies if you use one of these hospitals. Am having to leave because of this. Show details

cover was very much worth it for pregnancy care. However the government increase to gold cover policies earlier this year made this one too expensive to keep in the end. With no paid leave from work, it got to hard to sustain and now on Centrelink parental leave payments it became impossible to keep. Once you have bubs, you have to change your policy to single parent or family cover. In my case and to keep my hospital cover, it meant I had to add my baby on and increase my fortnightly payment to over $230. Sad to have to give that up but life isn’t getting cheaper at the minute. Still, can’t recommend these guys highly enough if you can afford it.

Best health policy going – I love being with Emergency Services Health. I have shopped around over the years but always come back to ESH for their competitive pricing with nil excess, a straightforward policy that gives me full coverage and generous amounts back for my extras. Bigger refunds mean smaller gap payments – So many times when I visit the physio or dentist etc they scan my card, tell me my gap then ask “who is your private health provider ?” They are always surprised how much my provider pays. best fit for my families health needs – Emergency services have the flexibility to choose your own doctor and hospital. Cost and Premiums are better that over health funds and the coverage per year is much better than the large health funds as well are the ability to roll over unused allocations in the the next year is something few health funds offer. Show details

transferring to Emergency Services Health in 2018 our dealings with them have been nothing short of amazing. The professionalism and courtesy shown by all staff we have dealt with has been impeccable, it is a real pleasure to deal with people who know the meaning of Customer Service, something you do not see a great deal of these days. I had a run of bad health which started in 2019 and ran thru to 2024. In that time I had my lower back fused which amounted to some time in hospital and also Rehabilitation. My wife has had a full knee replacement and also rehabilitation. I had a five way heart bypass and rehabilitation plus a further stay in hospital some months later to have a sternal plate inserted, also rehab. In 2023 I suffered a stroke and again admitted to hospital through the Emergency dept. Shorter stay in hospital and rehab. A few months later again in hospital to have a blockage removed from my Carotid artery. Each and every time we have had an admission to hospital be it public or private there has been no waiting period or being put on a waiting list to have to wait your turn to be dealt with in the public health system. Our total provider fees and hospital costs have been in excess of a quarter of a million dollars, our benefits have been just under a quarter of a million dollars. Thank you Emergency Services Health you are Lifesavers and we do and always will recommend your services to all we know, again thank you.
