Very helpful staff, knowledgeable and friendly. Very competitively priced policy and love that getting quote online also offers pricing for dependants so I was informed/aware upfront - everyone else needs you to ring for the ‘extra’ fee pricing. Always a pleasure to deal with the staff at our local Westfund office. They are very polite, accommodating and extremely helpful. We have enjoyed Westfund for around 10 years. Like all insurances you need to investigate the specifics of how you are likely going to use the fund. $5000 per year in premiums, then had to cover over $3000 in out of pockets for a pretty routine surgery and am now only getting a measly $30 back on my physio. I have since contact other insurers with the exact item codes and could have saved myself over $2000 in out of pockets and been getting $60 back on my physio whilst paying about the same premium. That's kind of what you expect from your health insurer right!!!

Health insurance is a scam and Westfund is no better than any other provider. They call themselves not for profit but I guess that just means their executive take bigger pay cheques or they are so badly run their operating expenses are higher. Profit obviously doesn't go back to the members because premiums are much the same as the rest of the market and benefits paid (at least to me) is below comparable providers.

which is a plus.Now going in for shoulder surgery from one of the top shoulder surgeon's in the country that works with many of the professional sporting teams and professional athletes .It has taken a long time to see this Surgeon,but i was happy to wait.Westfund will not cover the prosthesis and want me to get the surgeon to use a different one It's $2000,there excuse is it's not AHSA approved.Find a provider that doesn't use AHSA, to receive the best long term health benefits.So he is using a Pyrocarbon implant for many reasons because iam still active and it takes away from having to have a prosthesis in the glenoid cavity.The other prosthesis wear in the glenoid cavity according to Shoulder surgeon after 12 years and become a real problem.There are also many other advantages from not using titanium.So HCF pay $1400 towards it and also Bupa pay.So that's two other providers that I know for sure.I wouldn't have an issue but the fact that other providers are helping there members makes me question Westfund and if they are actually in the business of helping .Anyway if you're involved in sports or think you need any joint replacement do your homework.

several staff being rude and condescending over the phone or email. It took escalating the case to their complaint team to finally get a manager to call and sort the whole thing in minutes.

It's worth 1 star, but I'll give +1 star for the manager, who was apologetic, seemed genuine when she said she would review the case and retrain her managers, and followed up when she said she would.

If the onboarding process is so bad, I'm worried about the process when we raise a claim.

A excellent health fund who we have now been with for 10 years and no way will we change. My partner just had a Knee replacement and all we paid was our $500 excess. great for our 70 year plus teeth. Plus the 2 month deferral on our contribution when we travel overseas for over 2 months is another BONUS!

lower level of healthcare is appropriate to you. They are the only healthcare fund I have found that has staff who make payment and processing claims feel like the Health insurance actually works.

My family and I have used Westfund Health Insurance for about 24 years. We enrolled with them due to their value for money and company values. our policy until the age of 25 years. My Father has also been with Westfund for over 15 years and my sister and her family recently enrolled. I continue to promote Westfund to friends and colleagues as it is rare to find good long term customer service these days.

My husband and I have been a member of Westfund for more than 20 years and we made a lot of claims during that time inculding some major surgeries. efficient.We have never had a problem with making claims with Westfund the claim process is smooth and they simplify the process for you. Why pay for a health fund that gives you free stuff when in fact you are paying for it with their high fees but Westfund is basic simple and effective you pay for what you need. I would never hesitate to recommend Westfund. Westfund was created/started by people, for the people and still is for the people no bells and whistles just simple effective health cover.

Excellent communication and helth coverage – I needed to confirm that my wife would be covered for a planned upcoming operation. I received clear communication that she would be covered.
