Absolute Joke

Was on hold for 2 hours and 14 mins trying to get through because ive had no hot water since they installed the smart meter (against my wishes). If your meter works fine dont change it to a smart meter. Ive had nothing but problems since. They should have left it alone. As for 2 hours on hold.. we pay all that money for electricity and they make loads of profit but they won't enploy people to answer the phone???! Show details

Hopeless company! Impossible to contact, and when you do they take no notice of what you said

I have been on hold for over 90 minutes on Energex 131253. Still waiting for them to take my call. Once again, received a note in my letter box saying they can't read my meter, as they could not confirm "dog was restrained". I have no dog, and have told them so on two different occasions. I tried to put my self read meter readings online as they suggest, but it doesn't work. Such poor service. They do not listen when you eventually reach them. Still on hold... Hopeless! Show details

Warm weather means brownout

5th or 6th brownout because the weather is warm. Attempted break in by 4 people probably carrying knives 2 nights ago targetting the area. Energex says its a 'weather' problem. Its not 'weather' its inadequate infrastructure. Fess up and tell the truth on your systems and provide compensation as a result of the voltage drop brown outs! Show details

Wish I could give 0 stars

Just moved into a new home. 6 days without electricity now. Food has gone off. My grandma was supposed to be coming home from the hospital today but Energex said they couldn’t come into my house as there are possessions inside (even though I gave them my keys to enter and gave permission via the retailer). It was flagged that for my grandma to come home I would need electricity by today as she has an oxygen device so now she can’t come home. They never called or messaged me but just left the note on my door for me to find after I got home from work. I’m very distressed by having to keep my grandma in the hospital for another night. Absolutely useless!!!

9 days without power so far,powerlines still laying across the road & trees still hanging in powerlines! 3rd world countries would recieve better service than this,its beyond pathetic & you charge us the earth for power by putting it up by 50%!! The positive vs negative feedback at the beginning of this site says it all. Absolutely useless Energex,you should be ashamed!! We are disgusted with you leaving us without power for so long,weather events or not there's no excuse for it,we will be changing companies & so will every one else in this abandoned & distraught community. Connect the power put resources into getting power outage sorted sooner

Waiting days to get a power outage fixed is p*ss poor. Put on more staff get off your butt and fix the issue. Rotten food to be dumped in a time people are struggling while you take days to fix an issue. Shame on you money guages Show details

Useless

We live in a complex with an embedded network and we had solar installed. The set up was confusing for those involved and then Energex did an audit and breached us. After weeks and dozens of emails and phone calls, it turns out only 1 person in the whole company knows how to remedy the breach. The whole thing was a joke and I hope we never have to deal with them again. Show details

Still waiting

I have been waiting over 7 weeks at the time of this review for energex to connect my electricity, I am based 6km from Brisbane and they have come out twice next door to do work on the electricity pole next to my house but can't seem to throw the existing cable from the pole back to my renovated house.

This company should be dissolved and connections should be privatized but should be held hotage by such a useless government department!! Show details

My last bill was wrong. Almost double what it should be. I tried to sort this out as soon as I opened my mail after work. Origin and energex guessed that because noones home on a work day, my bill must be much bigger than the previous bills. Both companies have lied to me on the phone. I've spent hours making many calls. The Energex office is less than half a kilometre from here.

Why can't I get an accurate -ish time from the strangers who want access to my yard?

Now that I've taken a day off work to wait for them and been in multiple aguements with them ( on the same day), I'm wondering how much compensation they will provide when they accurately read the meter.

Anyone know?
