Great carrier, easy to use – We love our ergobaby carrier! Cons: - fiddly to use with a newborn and a newborn insert. Baby didn't seem comfortable or big enough to use as a newborn (my baby was of average weight and height). We had to wait about a month before we were confident that our bub would be comfortable in it. - Hot in summer. Bub didn't seem to mind though! -… Read more ·  1

Needs an infant insert - other carriers that I've since seen has most of the good features of the ergo without needing a fiddly infant insert.

- It's advertised as being able to breastfeed whilst using - I could not work that out at all!

- Although it's advertised as being able to have baby in a few positions, I haven't worked out how to have bub on my back or side.

- Because of it's popularity, need to be wary of fake ergos.

Pros:

- Super easy to use once bub grew into the carrier without needing the insert. I can put it on without anyone helping me in a matter of seconds.

- I really liked that it kept baby in a 'frog legged' position unlike other carriers on the market which I've been told is the best position for bub not to be at risk of hip dysplasia.

- I haven't had any back pain from using the ergo - which I've heard other friends complaining about with other carriers.

Overall a great carrier. However had I known of other carriers out there e.g. Manduca which doesn't need an infant insert, I would have considered them instead.

Loved it! Til bubs was 8kg – I really loved the ergobaby carrier but wish i had of got the ergo 360, in all honesty. It has been invaluable to me for school drop offs and pick ups as I was able to take my child into school whilst being hands free and able to wrangle 2 other children. The carrier is comfortable and easy to put on, but due to pre-existing back injury I found… Read more ·  1

that once bub was around the 8kg mark I wasnt very comfortable. I have kept the carrier though, as I think that when she is a bit older I will probably wear her on my back. I think she will enjoy looking around from this position. If I had the sport I think she would love being able to face forward on my front and see the world.

I also found that I couldn't use this carrier from birth, you need a smaller carrier for a newborn-3months.

My husband does find it a bit trickier to put on than I do, as the back clasp seems hard to do up if you are wider.

Overall, a great carrier, comfortable, padded shoulder straps, supportive waist band/strap, and fashionable design and colours. Would definitely recommend.

Parenting staple – The ergo carrier is perfect for our lifestyle. We now have three kids under 5. We have the sport version and the standard. One was made specially for tall people which my husbands loves. They both carry a weight up to 20kg. Handy for us because we go on long walks and at some point our three year old gets tired and needs a lift. It is a challenge… Read more

to get the baby on the back but with practice you get there, if not there should be a helping hand to get the baby on there. We have had them for four years now and taken them everywhere as they have been integral on our travels. Very durable. We have recommended the ergo carrier to friends and family. All kids were comfortable in the infant capsule when they were little. Easy to store when not using. We find that it is a great alternative to a pram if you. Sometimes prams are not suitable in crowded areas. With bush walking, sometimes you don't want to carry those oversize carriers with metal reinforcement. Couldn't fault it.

ergobaby is good – Easy to use. Can carry baby in any direction with the 360. Baby often falls asleep in the carrier which is also great. Easily adjustable straps to suit any size person.

Nice Carrier – I love how simple it is to use. It does get a little uncomfortable after a while. It also gets a bit hot in Summer. In saying that I have been loving it and so has my heavy, slightly clingy 8 month old. It allows him to explore the world with Mumma. Show details

Easy to use – It's convenient and easy to use. Instructions are clear but if lost can find on Youtube for demonstration. Infant insert is needed for babies under 3 or 4 months old. We used it when go for a walk, travelling and shopping. Would definitely recommend if anyone not using a pram.

Horrible – Its cool but don't buy it for wanted walks out side. Forget about because able to out in on yourself with a jacket . I can't reach my hands to my back to buckle up the clip. And baby snowsuit is so uncomfortable in it. She's to big for newborn insert but to small without it her legs slip out the bottom and her legs are too small to hangout the side. It annoys the crap out of me I can't clip it myself it's so stupidly made.

I am so its a great carrier, but terrible company – I have had so much trouble getting in contact with Ergobaby customer support. I have been told there is only one person to talk to who can deal with my enquiry and basically I need to wait for her to get in contact with me. Two months later of calls, emails and not to mention still $230 out of pocket. So dissapointed and with my baby due just… Read more

around the corner, I needed to buy a different branded carrier. So spending $500 just to get one carrier is devastating. Not to mention the company deletes reviews off their website. Cheeky Cheeky Ergobaby.

Not a fan, bulky, uncomfortable, cant feel the support – I have a baby Bjorne with no back support so borrowed this from a friend to try. My back and shoulders hurt just as much. I’m out walking now and am all sweaty from the synthetic fabric. It’s scratchy so you have to wear a t shirt under. Straps are very bulky. They are sitting in my underarm. I’m looking forward to getting home and taking it off. I won’t be using it again. Will happily go back to my slim, cotton baby Bjorne.

Great to be hands free – I always have a preference for prams but on the occasions when we could in use a carrier this was perfect. Fits easily on the hip bone and very comfortable on the shoulders and back. Mainly used it baby facing me and have not tried facing outwards, but baby was always snug and comfortable and easy to slide in. I like the pockets in front for keys,… Read more

phone etc and the hood on top to shield baby from sun as well as distractions so baby can sleep. Probably the only thing I haven’t mastered until now is being able to clip myself up at the top. Maybe I’m just not flexible enough, but it hasn’t been a problem with asking others to clip me.

A new Mumma's must-have!! – I highly recommend the Ergobaby to any new Mum. It was a life saver!! Very easy to use and can use from birth. Was excellent for carrying my baby whilst getting on with other tasks without breaking my back. My partner also loved it and used it just as much as me and loved it! Show details

Comfortable & easy to use – I absolutely love this carrier. Once you figure out how to put it on by yourself it’s really easy. You can carry baby in different positions including the side. My 5 month loves it too, he often falls asleep when facing me. It’s great for walks, shopping & travelling. Even when we are visiting family I always take the ergo with me. It’s really… Read more

comfy and the support is great, I have had my son on their for extended times and didn’t really feel the weight cause it distributes it evenly. It does get a bit hot in the summer, but I guess that would be with any carrier when baby is stuck on you. I would recommend this all parents.

Life saver – We loved the ergo. After reading all the new research about babies hips and correct carrier positioning it was an easy choice to buy the ergo original. We had 2 babies who loved being carried in the ergo. They also loved to sleep in it. Easy to use compared to some of the slings and wraps i had tried and failed to master.

Brilliant life saver – With a clingy first born who had colic this was a life saver. I baby wore him and was able to do things around the home and help my baby pass wind. Now with my second it been amazing I baby wear number 2 while engaging with number 1 and also doing things around the home. It's. A brilliant product easy to use and put on. It's a snug fit and both my boys loved it.  Show reply

Fantastic, easy to use! – This is an exceptional baby carrier, so easy to get on and off on your own. I really loved the feeling of having my babies so close and it was easy to breastfeed while wearing it. The only criticism is that it can be too hot and sticky in Queensland's weather.  Show reply

Ergobaby Carrier is the best! – We absolutely loved our ergobaby and used it until our babies were around 2 years old. We never used the Ergobaby Carrier for our newborns as I didn't like the newborn insert. We used a sling until they were around 4 months old and then used the Ergobaby Carrier.

Ergobaby All The Way!!! – I absolutely love my ergobaby, I purchased for my second child. It is very supportive compared to other brands out there, and very very comfortable to wear. Easy to use and easy to pop on yourself without any help. I will be using it again for my third child, this time with the newborn insert.  Show reply

Loved our Ergobaby Carrier – I purchased the Ergobaby Sport back in 2011 for my SIL when my niece was born. When I had my son in 2014 I borrowed the Ergobaby. My son and I loved it! when you can't push a trolley and a pram at the same time! I used the ergobaby up until my son was nearly 2 then purchased a onbu carrier.

The ergobaby is very easy to get on by yourself (I mainly front carried in this) and used to wear him for hours at a time and never got uncomfortable.

I have now given the Ergobaby back to my SIL who has just had another bub, so now onto the 3rd bub and still going strong.

My youngest is 3 and still using it – I bought my ergo baby (original) when my oldest was 9months (now 4.5y/o). I wish I got it when he was younger! I originally got it to take on a trip for the airport but used it every. I found it was simple to you use and distributed the weight well and the boys seemed happy in it. Excellent carrier - so comfy! – This carrier was very comfortable, because most of the weight sits on the hips I could wear it for hours without getting a sore back at all. It was also great for my baby who liked being upright (so would be good generally for babies with reflux). The newborn insert was also good, pretty easy to use.  Show reply

BEWARE...Straps on mine disintegrated over time!!! – Aloha, I loved my Ergo's (yes I have several) until last week when I took it off of the shelf that it has been on for about 5 years. Living less than a half of a mile from the original Ergo Babyi Office in Pukalani, I was very aware of Ergo Baby and its products. I used this Ergo and 2 others with my second child. The others are fine. There is NO… Read more

logical explanation as to why this particular model had straps that disintegrated off over time. It's not in an abnormal storage area nor did I use any type of chemicals when washing it prior to storage. In fact I probably only washed it a handful of times ever. The part of the straps that came apart are the nylon material portion of the shoulder straps. The portion that attaches beneath your armpits. Double check your straps!!!!!!

I tried sending an email online to the Ergo baby email address I found online.....I haven't heard anything back as of now.

Ok, but not a must have item – I love carrying my 8month old up and close, but when I wear her on my front, the straps slip off my shoulders when she wriggles. 'Ah!!" You say, "just use the clasp to clip it together, and the straps will stay in place!" But if you're on your own it's very awkward to do because the clasp is on the side and my arms won't bend that far! I like… Read more

wearing her on my back, but if she isn't in a very compliant mood, or is a bit wriggly, it feels insecure trying to get her in the carrier. It would be nice if I could lay her in it first and actually do some kind of strap around her before I then try to lift her onto my back.

In essence, this carrier is great when there are two people, one to act as a 'spotter' or to do that clasp up, and frustrating if you're on your own.

Perfect, loved it – I love the stowaway because it was lighter and not as bulky and hot. It was also excellent to fold up as it fits into a tiny bag. Great for carry on the front and back, both my bubs up to 2 years old. I live in the tropics so I wanted something that wasn't hot. Bub was very comfortable. Very easy on and off and very easy to adjust. Great all round, no complaints at all.  Show reply

A great first structured carrier – I loved my Ergo Original. It is quick and easy to use and good for front and back carrying. I like the fact it has a zippered section at the front. However, I did find the straps a bit bulky, and the back panel isnt as high as other ergos or carriers.

Love it and can carry baby for hours – Although it says that it needs the infant insert, I didn't use it at all for my newborn. Baby was 58cm long at 1.5 months old. baby in the carrier by myself. I'm 156cm tall. It is very easy to use. I use it around the house and when I go out. The snap buckle makes it very easy to put baby on the bed asleep, not like the older velcro model. Very comfortable, baby's weight is distributed over the waist band and shoulder straps. I can use it for 5 to 6 hours at a go. Haven't tried longer than that just yet. No straining of my wrists and no back aches! Love this product! Have not tried washing it. I just wipe milk dribbles with the cloth immediately. Have been using it for one month.

Frustrating to put on!Waste of money! – Rushed out to buy one to relieve us from carrying bub but I can't believe how difficult it is to put on. It is frustrating using the newborn insert, it takes two of us to set it up by which time bub is screaming her head off :( Got sick of it so it sits in the cupboard and have only used it once. The belt around waist is not the most comfortable either especially after having a caesarian!

Lifesaver – I use two carriers. This one, and the Moby wrap. This is by far, the most convenient carrier I have ever used, and I have used a fair assortment of them. hurt baby's hips – I used this carrier with my first baby, and it went well, however I am ringing with bub #2 that it is hurting her hips. She is currently 6.5kg and 4 months. I am finding that I need to use the baby bjorn instead until she gets a bit bigger. A bit disappointing having to invest in 2 separate carriers.
