I'd rate it zero stars if I could. Very disappointing after-sales support. The dryer failed within six months and was replaced under warranty, then the replacement failed again within three years. Despite Australian Consumer Law requiring products to last a reasonable time, the company refused to fix the dryer and only offered a replacement belt… Read more
as a “goodwill gesture.” I would not recommend based on poor reliability and unwillingness to honour consumer rights.
So far so good, been using for 2 years and had no issues. Show details
Worst Dryer ever – 14 months old and drum stopped turning. Before that taking twice as long to dry as when new. Esatto customer service said no warranty because it was in a business and warranty was only 3 months. Will never buy another Esatto product again. Show details
Terrible, dont waste your money. Terrible customer service – Dryer purchased brand new and not even 3 years old, the dryer makes terrible noises. We rang Esatto and was met with, too bad not our problem. During the 2.5 years of owning the dryer, it was fine. Noisy and did NOT dry the clothes, you had to put the dryer on warm cycle for another 1hr to finish drying them. Will purchase Miele this time, at least they care! Show details
Esatto excellent – Currently have two of these dryers and had no issues and are used daily for my business. Great value for money, good warranty Show details
It almost drys things – 4 hours to almost dry 6 bath towels - Terrible. After 2 weeks of contacting Appliances online still nothing ! Show details
DO NOT BUY ESATTO PRODUCTS until you've read this! – I had the EHPD7. I was very happy with it for four years until a few weeks ago it started squealing like a banshee. It cost me $90 to have the machine assessed by a locally "approved" repairer (the only one in my area). There was one, small part required - a wheel assembly, but it was out of stock for THREE MONTHS! It was Winter and I'd already… Read more
been without my machine for a week and a half! Esatto offered me a 40% discount on a new machine instead. I was grateful but also reluctant to accept this offer. A four year old machine should have been able to be repaired. It's not good enough when companies don't maintain part supplies (like Dyson). Especially when the part in question is small. Esatto has seriously dropped the ball on spare parts leaving machines (and owners) stranded.
My replacement machine turned up with a smaller bladder and a smaller barrel but somehow manages to defy physics and still claim an 8kg capacity (go figure). More importantly, it had damage to the heat exchanger which I immediately photographed and sent to their support team the SAME DAY the machine was delivered. I also noticed the filter box - that used to be in front of the heat exchanger on my old machine - was now gone. Deleted by Esatto. After just four uses, I can see significant build up of grime and fluff on the heat exchanger. A filter in front of the heat exchanger was considered necessary in the earlier iterations. Why not now? It's a slippery slope when you dumb-down designs for cost savings. The whole situation deteriorated significantly when an arrogant little pleb in customer service emailed me saying the damage was "highly unusual on a new machine" and retracted an offer of a warranty claim unless I accept possible repair costs. For a machine DELIVERED DAMAGED? I don't think so! I was prepared to get the machine fixed or replaced. Whatever Esatto deemed appropriate but when this upstart had the audacity to infer the damage was somehow suspicious .... I lost my $h*!
Esatto offered a refund because repairing the machine was "not cost effective" quote/unquote. I agreed to take the refund and forfeit a warranty claim on my new (damaged) machine but lo and behold, now they want the old machine back! I surrendered my old, BETTER machine because they couldn't supply parts and now, to escape a warranty claim, they think they'll just give me back my money and leave me without any machine at all! When I complained today that wasn't the agreement they quickly processed my refund and re-issued a request for the damaged machine to be returned.
DO NOT BUY FROM ESATTO. They do not support their equipment with parts. They sell broken machines and then try to get out of warranties. If I could give zero stars on this review - I would!
The same pleb called Nate sent me this email: "You had a 7KG Heat Pump Dryer and now have an 8KG Heat Pump Dryer. 8 kilograms is bigger then 7 kilograms, you do not have a smaller dryer. We will not be providing you with any service moving forward and your dryer will have no warranty We will be noting this on the account and we will not be engaging with you in any capacity. If you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are happy to help in any way we can."
FYI: machines were sold with "8kg WASH capacity". Now manufacturers are calling machines "8kg" - not because they can wash (or dry) 8kg of clothes but because you can squeeze 8kg of clothes inside the machine (but you can't run it like that). It's not a lie so they get away with it but it's a gross misdirection. If the drum is smaller and the bladder is smaller then THE-MACHINE-IS-SMALLER! Even the overall dimensions of the machine ARE SMALLER! Nate probably has his Mummy do all his laundry so he has no clue how laundry works.
A year on and very satisfied+ – I have had my esatto heat pump dryer for almost a year now. I decided to risk a lower priced brand for the sake of trying a heat pump and I am so glad i did. I researched the brand and type for months before hand and waited for a sale. There are lots of settings to cover all of my laundry needs. The consumption is brilliantly low so I feel less… Read more
tentative to use it. And I find if anything has not dried through (like a particularly thick fabric), I can just start a new load and it will turn off when the items have dried and not finish the cycle.
I had mine plumbed straight to the laundry drain which saves emptying the canister but it is great to have both options.
Everyone who has seen it in action has been convinced the heat pump dryers are great. And the esatto has been reliable to date.
I used to think dryers were a waste of money, energy and time. But I am very happy with my purchase.
Esatto, is it a good investment? – I’ve had my Esatto 8kg heat pump dryer just on 18months. My first condenser dryer was an Asko, paid a small fortune and sadly it didn’t last, it died. So I went next with a Fisher Paykel and purchased the extended warranty. Had multiple problems, pretty much the whole internals replaced over the warranty and extended warranty, a total of 4 service… Read more
calls. Decided to go with Esatto, a cheapy compared to the others. The 8kg dryer was super quiet and was working efficiently for 18months, and I was impressed. Sadly it stopped tumbling yesterday, and I rang service this morning. By this afternoon, I have a replacement coming in 4 days. I think this is a reasonable response, and happy with the quick turnaround. Only time will tell, but it feels like a winner given the cost of the Esatto compared to the more expensive alternatives.
Better then expected – Been using this appliance for 12 months and it gets used heavily. Was using an expensive European brand that broke down. Didn't want to pay a fortune and took a risk with Esatto - it been brilliant to -date, I couldn't be happier. Easy to use, drys fast, slightly noisier than my previous brand but not a big deal. Broken within 6 months – Very bad will not recommend. Stooped working 2 days ago and was able to turn it on again then today an extremely loud noise comes from the dryer and still does after removing everything from the dryer. Show details
BEWARE do not buys Residentia Group products – The dryer wasn’t working so I called for service to be told it all has to been done by email (no customer service) so I done that gave all the details they wanted a video of that was happening and then also a description of what was happening I don’t know why both after getting all the details I was told who my local repair agent was so I rang… Read more
them up to be told they will be closed for a week so ask for a different repair agent so I email back to get a horrible email back for them to say a dryer isn’t essential that it’s not unreasonable to wait up for two weeks, I’m lucky enough that I return it to the store I brought it from for them to tell me that there customer service for them is shocking and they are starting to find that there brand products are being repaired and return the most glad I don’t have to put up with this brand anymore I will make it very clear to everyone I know don’t buy any of there products.
Exceeds expectations – I thought I was taking a bit of a risk as this unit was much cheaper than equivalent well known brands. I didn't want to worry about venting or condensation and was looking for a condenser or heat pump units. I found this on a pallet at Bunnings and decided to give it a go. I have to say I'm absolutely delighted so far. This unit is sealed, no… Read more · 1
dusty and humid air venting, and the amount of water it collects when drying is staggering. One of my better purchases and would highly recommend, as long as it remains reliable.
UPDATE: Filters are trash compared to EHPD7. Do NOT buy! – UPDATE 10/22: The change in filter setup noted in my original review below is definitely a disaster. The heat exchanger fins are already showing serious lint buildup even with me carefully vacuuming the heat exchanger after every drying cycle. This dryer is setting itself up to conk out the day after the warranty runs out. If I could return it, I… Read more
would. This is a massive design flaw introduced by a needless redesign. DO NOT BUY.
Coming from Esatto's earlier heat pump dryer (EHPD7), the EHPD80 is similar, but with a built-in display to show remaining time and other information. As with all heat pump dryers, the EHPD80 is extremely efficient — 7 star energy rating, 159kwh/year on the standard test — but very slow (~2 hours for a standard dry cycle of cottons, upwards of 3 hours for an extra dry cycle).
The EHPD80 is also missing the EHPD7's secondary lint filter (which sits in the cavity immediately before the heat exchanger fins in the EHPD7). This seems like a strange choice, as even with the secondary filter (and regular cleaning of both filters), my EHPD7's heat exchanger still got clogged with lint over time, some of which would not come out. I'm skeptical of longevity with the EHPD80's single-filter design, but Esatto offers a 3-year warranty (2 years as required by law plus an additional year on registration), so hopefully I'll be covered for any issues.
