Doesn’t work at all. Used it for a 2.5 hour walk and husband got terrible sunburn even though we applied it liberally. I highly doubt it is SPF 50 and shame on this company for taking advantage of us environmentally conscious folks. Show details
I bought this to use on my face and neck as the supermarket did not have my usual lovley Sukin zinc sunscreen. Oil slick is the best description, tacky greasy unsightly mess. Feels disgusting and looks terrible, a slimy white tint. Show details

reconfirm the safety of the product. The absence of a response, even a form response is concerning and I will need to look elsewhere for a safe product. I would happily have stayed a customer had they been able to respond and even request time to respond.
Me and hubby have been using Ethical Zinc in the white packaging for two years on our face. He’s white skinned and I’m brown. Did not work- was extremely sunburnt despite using this product liberally and as per recommendations. Contacted company to flag this as I was worried there may be a bad batch, didn’t hear back. Wrote a review also alerting of this, it was deleted. Totally unsafe and unethical.
I'm a 63 yr old male with mildly sun damaged caucasian skin. I have used this product for 5+ years. It is great for the face but many reviewers say it doesn't work all over the body. could be a real challenge. It settles well on the face and as a plus it makes age spots and blemishes look much lighter. It's a great product for the areas I've mentioned and I have NEVER burned using it.
Decided to write a review because we just used this product on a 5 day kayaking holiday and found it to be excellent. Am totally surprised at the number of poor reviews. We were on and in the water all day and didn't get burnt at all, and no adverse skin reaction. Go figure? Show details

Concerning reaction – I really wanted this sunscreen to work because it has no nasties in it, I bought it for my toddler and it has given him a really nasty rash, his skin never had a reaction to anything like this, is now dry, rough and red. I am super concerned because I don’t know how I’m going to treat it now. I bought 3 bottles as it was on offer and I think they will go in the bin.

this company is awful. I have now purchased two different products - 1. Daily Wear Light Sunscreen; and 2. Daily Wear Tinted Facial Sunscreen. Both products are thick, sticky, greasy, hard to apply, and leave your skin feeling like an oil slick. They're oily and very heavy on the skin. To apply evenly you have to use force and drag the product against your skin. Not recommended for delicate facial skin! The Daily Wear Light Sunscreen is categorically not light. It's a thick, crude, poorly developed product. It made my skin sting and was difficult to wash off. I have never felt so duped by any sunscreen product and I've tried just about all of them. To use the word 'ethical' in the branding is highly misleading for consumers who think they are buying one thing but getting something entirely different. I have reached out to the company three times via the 'contact us' form on their website, and also by to hello@ethicalzinc.com. I did not receive a single response. If a company makes false claims and uses misleading language then of course they are going to avoid facing customers they have duped with their lies. No phone number is listed on their website either, a calculated move so they can avoid dealing with the filthy unwashed. I will be returning the second sunscreen I purchased to Woolworths and I will be telling them why. These products are garbage and I don't recommend wasting your money on them. I agree with other reviewers here who say this product should be banned. It should be removed from the market.

Stung my eyes – While it’s smooth and appears natural. It surely can’t be. As some of the non natural sunscreens can sting my eyes when washing it off my face in the shower. But this one was the worst I have had. My eyes felt like they were stinging/burning so bad after trying to wash it off my face in the shower. It doesn’t even show the full ingredients on the packet
Not for the beach! – A great sunscreen for daily or short term use (not as thick or greasy as some), but definitely not suitable for longer periods, in water, or at the beach. It must be diligently applied every hour. I reapplied twice over 5 hours (so 3 applications all up) and was so sunburnt. Some parts of my legs looked as if I’d had no sunscreen at all. Really love this product – I am now using ethical zinc. It’s the only sunscreen so far where I haven’t developed an allergic reaction to and I wear it under my make up. It dries clear and not greasy once it’s dry. Rub in well. I use the daily wear light sunscreen. I recommend this great product. Show details
I loved this sunscreen – It was super easy to apply especially the sunscreen stick, so easy for my inpatient 2 year old and she has sensitive skin, and can’t use many other creams this one she didn’t react to at all. We both used it for our recent trip to FNQ it was easier to apply, I’m surprised at reading al these reviews saying it didn’t work as we both didn’t get sunburnt once and spent the whole day out in the hot FNQ weather swimming all day as well. Terrible - should be banned – My children and I used this product liberally and reapplied 3x in the day. We were in and out of the sun, so not exposed to the sun all day and we all got badly burnt. Terrible product. How can this be SPF50???

Does not work – Was hoping this would work. On paper it sounds amazing. However we used it liberally on a beach trip and we all came back sun burnt. Might as well have not had sunscreen on at all.
Does not work at all avoid at all costs – This sunscreen does not work avoid at all costs. We got this because it claimed to be reef safe and we were snorkelling at the great barrier reef. product expecting it to do its job. I haven't contacted the company yet but going by the above reviewer it looks like it wont be easy to get hold of them. Please be very wary about buying and using this product. Whilst on paper it sounds amazing, being organic, reef friendly etc etc it's useless if it doesn't do the job its intended to do.

purchased some of your sunscreen. My 16 year old daughter used it yesterday at the pool. She was there for a little under two hours applied the sunscreen before we left home 30 mins from pool and she still burnt. Can you tell us if we need to do anything else to stop her from burning. (It was also on her legs so even a rash vest would have helped her top but not her legs. )"
