Flimsy bed head and mattress sliding around – Bed frame looks nice enough and is easy to setup. It is not functional however as you cannot sit up and lean on the bed head to read in bed etc as the bed head is flimsy, bends backwards and bangs into the wall. bought two large steel brackets) to hold itself up with a person leaning on it. It is, fundamentally, a major design flaw as it prevents the bed being used as a bed without modifications.
The lack of edging on the bed means the mattress slides around on top of the base. We have a matching Eva mattress on this bed. This is annoying as it invariably ends up blocking the convenient cable holes on one side of the bed or the other.
Addit: I posted this review first on the Eva website, however it was withheld by the company for a few weeks until they verified that I purchased the bed using my email address. This would be fine if it was a standard policy, but I suspect they don't do this for their 5 star reviews as my review now (finally) appears with a 'verified purchaser' tag, but most of the 5 star reviews do not have this tag. I have no idea therefore how many negative reviews were made like mine, but are not displayed due to lost receipts or unwillingness to follow-up (NB: I had to check the website, note that my review was not there and enquire as to why before they asked for the email used for purchase - I am not sure most negative reviewers would have gone to this length to ensure their review was published). Since this happened, I had a look around other review sites and have noticed that here on ProductReview.com.au the company has many 'incentivised reviews' that buries (intentionally or unintentionally) the issues with the bed I and other users have identified. These practises are suggestive of a company willing to participate in dishonesty to skew it's online reviews. This is sad, as they appear otherwise to be a good company (B corp etc).
Addit 2: After considerable back and forth with company representatives after initially compiling this review, a few points have been established. 1) Eva, after originally claiming in writing that they did not do this, later admitted they incentivise reviews by offering discounts and vouchers to customers. Invariably, this leads to positive reviews, as customers are unlikely to leave a negative review for a discount. 2) Eva does not (at time of writing, but perhaps have now started) verfiy positive reviews on it's website before publishing them, but it will only publish negative reviews if the reviewer contacts them to enquire about the review not being published and then the author can verify that they purchased the product. Eva have not publicly displayed how they obscure or 'verify' reviews anywhere on their website. Amazingly, they published my review a couple of months ago (see above) after I enquired, but today (11/03/2025) it's been removed again. This is all considered misleading advertising per ACCC's rules around negative online review management:
"Negative reviews are manipulated A business may mislead consumers if they:
1. suppress or edit negative reviews 2. remove genuine reviews that are negative
Businesses and review platforms should ensure they clearly display their policy for publishing, editing and removing reviews. They should also consider whether their policy may risk misleading consumers."
With regards to the faults in the bed - I have been offered a replacement base and headboard with an improved design (4 screws fixing the headboard to the base and foam on the back of the headboard so it doesn't bang agains the wall), however I have not been offered a means of disposing of the old base and headboard. I consider the headboard banging against the wall to be a serious fault, or at the very least in combination with the mattress sliding around on the base, a combination of faults that would have led me to not purchase the bed had I known about them beforehand. With this, I've requested a full refund from Eva.
Addit 3: Eva has refused to provide a full refund for the bed despite the above major flaws and our entitlement to a refund. They offered instead to send components for me to repair the bed myself, but have not offered to pay for disposal of the defective parts. With this (and previous behaviour), they have made clear that they 1) are unwilling to take responsibility for major design flaws and meet ACCC requirements, and 2) practice deceptive manipulation of reviews to ensure their online presence is extremely positive.
I have kept this review in mediation through the ProductReview website to provide Eva the opportunity to remedy these issues, but we have not been able to reach an acceptable outcome.
In all, dealing with Eva has been challenging. There has not been a single acknowlegement along the way that their initial design for the headboard for this bed was not fit for purpose (despite countless customers having the same issue), and getting them to acknowlege the problems with the way they are managing negative reviews was like squeezing blood from a stone. Eva can't pretend to be the torchbearer for sustainability whilst simultaneoulsy making flawed furniture designs and gaslighting its customers - this is not the way to do business. My negative review for their bedframe remains missing as of 04/03/2026.

The open design of the frame ensures making the bed is super easy and dusting the bed frame is also simple and quick. The built-in spaces for cables is a nice feature and neatens up the room. Negative reviews
TLDR: if you receive defective Eva furniture, they'll give you a replacement but you will be required to dispose of the defective product yourself. bed head wasn't well secured. They kindly offered a free replacement bed head, which was delivered promptly (and fits the bed properly).
However when I went to give the delivery driver the defective bed head, they said they couldn't take it. I then contacted Eva who confirmed this is standard policy and that the buyer needs to dispose/recycle the product themselves. We live in an apartment and storage space is already at a premium, and we don't own a car big enough to fit the bed head to drive it to a tip. We'd have to hire a van or wait for our next council hard rubbish collection to dump it.
The bed is great and Eva were cooperative about the replacement, but it's disappointing that this large and otherwise lovely piece of timber furniture now goes to landfill given Eva markets themselves as sustainable (B Corporation, etc) in order to convince people to buy their products. I imagine a furniture workshop would be able to easily re-drill the inserts and it would be completely usable again!
If I could I would give it 0 stars – Okay we ordered a bed frame and a mattress in December to be delivered in Jan. The day of the delivery they cancelled. They said it would be a week. Loose bed head – As with other reviews, the bed head is quite loose. I really think this should be made clear before purchase. Eva says it should go flush against a wall, but that's not possible with my skirting and electric outlets. I think it's a design flaw to be honest, because sitting up in bed is a pretty common thing! didn't have to arrange for someone to support me to get it inside. Thirdly, putting together the frame was a breeze. Everything slots into place and there are no fiddly screws requiring a drill. The design of the bed frame is excellent - it's sleek and minimal, and fits my bedroom decor beautifully.
The mattress is VERY heavy, 65+ kgs, which means I'll need to get someone to help me move it around, however I don't see that as a major issue. It's the most comfortable mattress I've slept on - I got the Premium Adapt - and well worth the price point if you'd like something that isn't too firm.
While it wasn't cheap to buy the bed and base, I don't regret it one bit. The design, the B Corp credentials, the ease with which it was delivered and put together - nothing negative to say here!

Every little thing has been thought of - from the bolts in different little bags, clearly marked through to the each piece of wood clearly marked. Really easy frame to assemble especially on your own :) I don’t have an Eva mattress but the frame supports my mattress so so well! This frame is pure quality. A lovely wood tone, true to colour as shown on site. It was easy to put together, the instructions were very clear.
