It now has thickener (xantham gum) as well as citric acid preservative from black mould most likely. The product is now garbage as it contains two products that I avoid like the plague and you know is not good for people. Shame. Show details

The yoghurt is OK, however it's wild the company decided to launch in 2025 a prize giveaway where you have to retain paper receipts to scan or photograph them. They encourage people to handle BPA-coated receipts despite countless articles through the years about BPA being carcinogenic, same as its newer alternatives, which are even less studied and not regulated by anyone. Show details

Yoghurt flavoured water – Yoghurt flavoured water with chemical aftertaste. Would rather pay extra for the original product.

No longer great – I have noticed that recently this yoghurt is watery and it doesn’t taste the same anymore. The price went up and the taste is compromised. Sad. I will be finding another brand as everything I enjoyed about this yoghurt has now gone in the name of profits most likely Show details

Watery change – I have bought this yoghurt for several years and loved the flavour and thick creamy texture. However, the last few tubs of yoghurt are thin and watery. It is obviously a cost-saving ploy by the makers. Very disappointing! I will now have to find an alternative brand.

Recipe changed? – I used to love this thick and creamy yoghurt. I haven’t bought it in a while, but the yoghurt I bought this week was watery. I didn’t need a spoon, I needed a straw. Disappointed - wondering whether it is a ‘new and improved’ recipe. Show details

My go-to Greek Style yogurt – I love the creamy taste. Some Greek style supermarket yogurts are so tart they are mouth puckering. I've travelled in Greece and Turkey and this product reminds me very much of the smooth and creamy yogurts over there. Show details

Why did you ruin a perfect yogurt – My family has been enjoying this yogurt for over 20 years, we noticed lately they decided to improve an already perfect recipe by ruining it and make it similar to all other brands. Now we have started using a different brand that is closer to the original taste of farmer union. What a failure by Farmer Union.

Revolting lump of something found in yogurt – I found some lump of something in the Greek yogurt. Looks revolting. Not yogurt.

revolting – tastes like cheese. as soon as i put the spoon in my mouth, i wanted to hurl. i was expecting a tasty bowl of granola. however, i was instead greeted with a crunchy, cheesy mess. disappointed to the max.

Good Alternative to Sour Cream – I purchase this yoghurt regularly in the smaller four pack tubs, and use it as an alternative to sour cream on potato dishes, nachos and salads. The four pack tubs are one of the few small options which make cooking easy, due to the serving size and the minimum of wastage between uses. The taste hasn't been as good over the last few years, but… Read more

overall it's an okay alternative as long as it's mixed with other ingredients; I wouldn't eat it on its own.

Runny and sour – Currently pregnant and need to get a dose of yoghurt daily. Picked up the one that said “with a hint of strawberry”. Wasn’t too bad a texture but still not as thick as I like, overly sour taste and lack of strawberry flavour makes me wonder what’s actually in this.  Show details

Watery yogurt???? – The last two times we purchased Farmers Union Greek Vanilla Bean from two Woolworths outlets in the Darwin area the yogurt has been very runny, not quite like water but more like thin runny cream. We use to love this product for sweet after our meal most nights. Sorry guys nothing good to say. Show details

One of the best all-Australian natural yogurts available – I feel obligated to do this review as circumstances have changed in regards to the origins and current ownership status of Farmers Union yogurt. As with many of the other reviewers, I saw a distinct quality decline after the Chinese owned Mengniu Dairy acquisition in 2019. Things changed in November 2020 and with the Bega Cheese acquisition –… Read more

Famers Union is once again a fully fledged Australian company which is exceptionally good news for patriots such as myself. Notwithstanding that I have seen a definite quality improvement with consistency. Once again it is my preferred brand with the Farmers Union Greek Style All Natural Yogurt a firm family favorite complimenting our healthy lifestyle. We use it extensively in all sorts of dishes such as ice cream substitutes, for breakfast, salads, fillings, Cucumber Raita and more. And now that it’s a 100% Australian owned company the taste is so much better – and satisfying. One of the best natural yogurts on offer at the moment and widely available.

USED TO BE amazing. Now just “good” – This was the KING of yoghurts for soooooo long. Such a great quality Australian product BUT a while ago it became less creamy and watered down. I wondered if it was just me, but no, reading all these reviews makes me realise the Chinese takeover has resulted in an inferior product made for profit with substandard and imported ingredients. Not… Read more

only is the new yoghurt apparently reduced in local (Australian) ingredients, I have been led to believe it has added highly processed additives, flavours, emulsifiers and thickeners.

Where to now? Barambah? Maleny Dairies? Jalna? But the fact remains - FARMERS UNION GREEK always had the best TASTE for my money.

As the great Frankie Bell said “You need to consider.......are the ingredients in the product there for your benefit or the manufacturer’s benefit? Of course they have to make a profit, but with what margin and what are the compromises?

With Farmers Union it’s become quite clear TASTE and NUTRITION.

How can this product claim to be made in Australia? – I’ve wondered why the taste and quality has deteriorated. Today I noticed that the ingredients are imported. Why would you need to import dairy to Australia. How can you then claim it’s ‘made in Australia’? Last time I buy it. Shame it was my favourite for years. Show details

The New Owners Changed The Recipe – This all time creamy all natural yoghurt is no longer available. The company was bought by a Chinese company in November 2019 and have changed the recipe and now make the yoghurt with gelatine in order to obtain a faster gelating product. The result is cheap CRAP! They call it "Natural POT SET". Avoid. Show details

Farmers Union ripping customers off – We've bought Farmers union Yogurt for many years but have noticed that in past weeks the package has downsized from 1KG (Blue foil) to 950grams (Green foil). Still the same price. Why this odd number and no price change. Going metric was meant to standardize weights and measures into 1/4 1/2 and 3/4 litres or kilos. Liquids are now 700 ml not 750. Its just another day as a ripped off customer Like the other comments I will be changing brand. Show details

Farmers Union, please don't ever change the recipe!! – This yoghurt is really tasty. It's creamy, smooth and not too tart. It is by far the best yoghurt I have ever eaten. Also works nicely as a side to an Indian curry, or with some ice cream and banana slices. I like the 4 x 160g tubs, they're a little pricier but I think they taste better than the medium sized tub (not sure how?) and are a good… Read more

snack size. The vanilla one is really yummy too, but make sure you mix it heaps with a spoon first to get the full flavour.

Same volume/more water?! – I did enjoy Farmers Union Greek Yogurt for its taste and consistency...love thick yogurt! Then some months ago I noticed that it had become thinner. I checked reviews and found David's (SA) review about yogurt 'downsizing'. So now I'm thinking, in NSW, it's been 'watered down' to achieve a similar outcome. It still tastes the same, but sadly, Farmers has lost me to Jalna now. Show details

Changed it bad batch – I purchased this every week, but recently the batches seem different? Very water and thin. I hope this is not a permanent change. That would be a shame because it use to be the best yoghurt. Show details

Reducing size quantity volume etc ,and getting away with it .HUH. Like it or lump it. !!! Us consumers suffer in the end .ALWAYS

Farmer's Union Yoghurt – My favourite yoghurt BUT have you noticed they have changed the quantity they are selling? The 1KG jar/pot is now 950g. Why would you package this strange quantity? This is another form of price increase - they should be upfront about increases! They have also forgotten to alter their photos on their website and in this ad!

I since noticed that it is the Vanilla bean flavour that has the reduced quantity. The plain yoghurt is still 1 KG!

The perfect natural yoghurt ! – A versatile and creamy yoghurt that is perfect for sweet and savoury dishes. It goes well on tacos, burritos, baked potatoes, dips and in curries. Just add some fresh fruit and a bit of honey to make a delicious healthy dessert. This product is a weekly essential on my shopping list ! It is also reasonably priced and usually on special at Coles.

Tastes like chobani's plain yogurt – It's not sweet, and not too sour. it has the right mild (not sharp) sourness perfectly balanced by the mild smooth creaminess. I'd say it's better than chobani's. It is cheaper as well. best plain yogurt in the market.

Excellent quality product – A well made yogurt, consistent quality. Best for making dips with, it does not have that sour aftertaste other yoghurt's have. I hope they keep doing what they do because they have this spot on. This is by far the best yoghurt on the market. Don't go for fancy brand names.  Show reply
