The water dispenser only chills 500ml of water then takes hours before the next 500ml of water will be chilled. Everything else is great but the marketing says it dispenses cool water, even showing a large jug being filled. Show details

Our Fisher & Paykel fridge has broken down three times. We’ve now been without a proper fridge for over a month waiting on a replacement. When we asked to upgrade, they tried to charge almost double the cost. To top it off, delivery was refused because my daughter wasn’t feeling well that day – completely unreasonable. After this experience, I wouldn’t recommend Fisher & Paykel to anyone. Show details

I bought my Fisher & Paykel RF500QNX1 Fridge from JB-HiFi in June 2024. It's genuinely the best fridge I've ever owned. It's the first time in my life that I haven't run out of freezer space. The quad doors and deep sliding drawers make getting things in and out SO MUCH easier. After seeing the fridge, my parents immediately wanted one too. My… Read more

only issue was that JB Hi-Fi delivered it with a large redback spider in the box, presumably from the hot delivery van.

Smaller Quad Door Fridge with great freezer space - prioritising power efficiency stars over effectiveness? – Bought this Fridge as we needed quad doors due to a galley kitchen and had no need/room for anything any bigger. Amazed at the sheer amount of plastic when I received the fridge. I get that F&P dont want to get complaints about scratched bins, but they used to supply fridges that travelled perfectly without damage that didn't require 90 mins of… Read more

unwrapping the internals upon arrival.

We really like the freezer bin design and the doors are smooth to open & close. More flexibility with height settings on the door bins make them more useful.

Unfortunately after 2 weeks use on the coldest settings the fridge temp is marginal at best. Freezer seems not too bad but we are concerned that the fridge isn't keeping milk etc cold enough. Given that temp issues seem to be consistent on these new models It feels like F&P have set the fridge temps too high to get better energy ratings and they would have been better to give more flexibility in settings for people to account for their ambient home temps. (like the older fridges) Booking service call next week and will update at a later date.

Not good quality build – The fridge is quite small. It cools food well as expected. The doors are hard to close properly as the interlock mechanism on the doors does now allow them to easily close unless you push fairly hard. The right door came with a plastic sound when opening it and the fridge. A professional technician from Paykel came to adjust the the fridge but… Read more

the plastic noise remains when fully opening the door. Also the technician was quite hard in twisting the adjustment screws in the fridge so now these are both deformed. Not sure if this is because of the design making it hard to adjust or not.

The app that can be used for the fridge shows the temperature but does not notify you if there is an issue with the fridge such as the doors are left open.

Update: recently found out that the drawer for vegetables in the fridge section can’t be removed to clean it or under it. Contacting support who told me I will have to order a technician to come out to remove it. Not good design for an area that easily gets dirty the most in the fridge.

Overall not fully happy with the quality of the fridge but will look for other brands next time.

F & P RF500QNB1 Quad door fridge - so far so good – Bought this fridge even though online research, including an online Choice Magazine review, rated this fridge poorly (did pay for an extended warranty). When tested it reportedly does not maintain a stable temperature. Some customer reviews seemed to report this problem. In spite of this we threw caution to the wind as it fit our kitchen space… Read more ·  1

well and during a visit to a bricks and mortar store the salesperson assured me they'd never encountered this problem. We've had the fridge two days and whilst WFH today I decided to keep a close eye on the internal temp using a fridge thermometer and taking measurements roughly every 20 mins. Get a life some might say but science requires data! With the fridge compartment set to 3C between 6am to 10pm the temp varied between -5C to -10C (a winter day with house temp around 19C). It mainly sat around -8C and would rise for short periods (10 mins) up to -5C during busy times at breakfast and dinner when everyone is home and the fridge is opened and closed with high frequency. I'm not sure how this compares to other fridges but from my perspective it seems quite acceptable and I'm reassured it quickly returns to a cold -8C. I just hope it can maintain this performance into the future. Especially summer when our last fridge (a 2020 Hisense) couldn't cope with any heat and struggled to keep fridge and freezer at appropriate temperatures. That and the lack of a door open alarm were deal breakers and I can't see myself going back to any Hisense fridge based on that experience. Otherwise, the F&P fridge seems easy enough to live with but if it does start to show temperature regulation issues I'll try and post that info here.
