to buy their new machine by paying $1,599.00. Issue: Doesn’t heating up / Cause: System fault / Solution: Inspected and tested machine at time drying over 30 minutes only reached 25 degrees. Called TAC,uneconomical to repair, suggested to prorate with new machine. Reference number: 09099266 Customer will pay call out free to FP bank account direct.

Follow-up  · Had to change my review as Fisher Paykel Australia offered me a new latest model machine at no extra cost though the warrantee expired couple of months ago.

This product has put me off Heat pump dryers for life. Takes nearly a day to complete one small load. Sheets ball up and never dry. The lint filter needs to be changed every half hour or it continually beeps at you. Has increased my electricity bill significantly. Show details

Simply unacceptable – I am happy with the tradeoff of longer drying time for much reduced energy consumption. However, the quality of this product is simply unacceptable. I've had it repaired multiple times. Now it appears a bearing is failing, as a new, very loud, noise is making it unbearable to listen to. So back to the shop only two months after the last visit.… Read more

Living in the country, this is a royal pain in the backside, as the Fisher & Paykel service people will not come to me.

We have a F&P washer that we've been happy with, but I don't think I'll ever buy another Fisher & Paykel product after the experience with this VERY EXPENSIVE dryer.

Fisher & Paykel: You should be ashamed selling this rubbish for $1500.

Heat pump dryer tangle – Absolutely dreadful clothes dryer. Items ball together and don’t dry properly. Rotates only clockwise,in the past products rotate both clockwise and anticlockwise eliminating the tangle. Would not recommend this product at all . Show details

Too noise – It works well on the everyday, but very very noise. For other options for drying does not work as good, for the sheets it does not turn off itself... so it keeps on going. I bought it in conjunction of the washing machine to match which is great and no noise at all. Show details

Fisher&Paykel DODGY Dryer – Purchased our F&P 8kg (DH8060PI) dryer 3 years ago. Its only worked ok for the first year. This dryer CAN NOT DRY SHEETS - as per most the other independent reviews - the sheets quickly get knotted into a tight ball, and stay wet. Very frustrating. This Fisher&Paykel dryer is not fit for purpose. Will not purchase F&P again - poor quality. This… Read more

unit was purchased through retailer Appliances Online - their "customer reviews" are interestingly mostly positive, and it seems at odds with reviews on other independent review sites......

Lies. Doesn't dry reliably – Range of clothing, have experimented with settings, but very hit and miss. Beeps to says its done and dried, but almost every other load is still damp. Some items I've had to put in 3 times and still not dry! Tech came out and said no fault, its working as it should!! Absolutely not fit for purpose - meant to be a DRYER not a DAMPENER. Am returning it. Show details

Bad quality, died after 3.5 years – When I brought this, it dried clothes and towels great and I never had an issue with it, we are heavy users of it and used it about 4-5 times a week. I loved it, it was fairly quiet and it did mostly everything I needed it to but it never dried sheets well as they always ended up tumbled in a ball, and the compressor filter fins were really… Read more

difficult to clean due to a poor design much like other reviewers have said but I thought that it was a small thing and I could live with that.

About 3.5 years in, the compressor started making really loud noises and loads were taking 5-6 hours to dry when before it would only take 2-3 hours, so a service technician came to look at it and couldn't isolate the issue. They took it back to their workshop and tested it and advised that the motor and PCB was faulty and wasn't worth fixing as it was past the 2 year warranty and it would be uneconomical to repair. I reached out to F&P to ask if that would be covered at all despite being out of warranty (the answer was no) and so I told the service centre to dispose of the machine.

However after reading reviews about this model it seems like a pretty common experience that the machine dies after 3.5 years and how convenient that they only have a 2 year warranty. Overall, so dissapointing that $1500 was spent on a machine that only lasted 3.5 years with faulty parts that should be lasting much longer than that. I won't be buying any F&P products again, we had the matching washing machine which is going well (it also had a faulty door lock - again out of warranty - which was fixed) but when that dies we will be replacing it with a different brand as I'm so disappointed with the quality and service.

Spend your money elsewhere, unless you're prepared to buy a new machine every 3 years or so.

Best dryer ever, Fisher & Paykel Heat Pump Dryer – I love this product and it does the job right. It drains the water out of clothes, towels, sheets etc, it prevents dust from blowing out into the air, stops moisture from forming on the walls and doors, helps with allergies, tells you if the filter and water is full, has different cycles for different materials and has a light so you can see into… Read more

the dryer at night. I have been looking for a machine that meets my needs and it does exactly that with all the aforementioned features. Living in a unit means there's less space for hanging clothes, towels and sheets, but the dryer allows me to get the washing out of the way quicker, even when the weather conditions are unpleasant. There's also less dust and moisture in my unit now. It is worth the price you pay for the job it does. I would really recommend this product to anyone.

Give me back my old burner dryer – This is a heat pump dryer and I understand it takes longer to dry than my old "burner type" but the presets are not correct, set to dry on the correct program and cloths are still damp, so put it in for another cycle, set to extra dry and similar issue, also sheets roll up in a ball and don't dry, also duvet cover same problem so you remove… Read more

untangle and have another go, after 2 times then you end up with dry cloths. Its annoying when you put washing on to dry and come back after work to find it in a ball and still wet. I was advised to put a towel in with the washing to try to stop this, I disagreed as I shouldn't have to do this, they also told me to just use the time set for a dry, again I won't as this has suppose to have the ability to do what its says "Dry Cloths" Tech is coming next week for the second time, they can take it back and I'll get my old one back out of the garage. Very disappointed as this is suppose to be hi tech.

Poor Kindergarten Design – We have not yet used the machine as we are having trouble installing it. Rang F & P which resulted in no help. We also purchased the complementary washing machine, which was easy to install, as it comes complete with a spanner to enable levelling. Search as I may I could not find one with the dryer and the washing machine spanner did not fit. F &… Read more

P advised that the dryer did not include a levelling spanner. Now for the bright spark designers at F & P, let me tell you, that for a very small extra cost or redesign of the washing machine spanner, you would make installation of dryers so much easier. The machine is heavy and the levelling feet difficult to access, such that as an engineer, none of my many spanners fit. Meaness or extremely poor design is the only possible conclusion. F & P at your price point you need to do better or ensure your blinkered designers do some installs.

Excellent! – I have owned this for about 1.5 years now & love it. I live in FNQ where we have weeks of rain at a time & have 2 young kids who are toilet training etc. Super helpful when they wet the bed late at night! Some people saying the clothes come out feeling damp… there are different settings to pick… I also pick the dry/extra dry & have never had a… Read more

problem with clothes being damp.

Pros: - Has not made a difference to my bill at all from the same time of year last year! Despite being used approx 4 times a week. - inside lighting is extra handy, especially at night time or dark corners - drying rack is amazing for lunch boxes, shoes, toys, slippers, delicates. It really is a game changer & one of the main reasons I bought! - it has child lock - it has a timer on the screen so you know how long it has left. - it is quiet - it goes in both directions to prevent creasing & wrinkles. - it fits alot in, I put in my whole load from my 8kg meile washing machine. No need to wait & do two loads. - it is super easy to clean / take out lint holder - you can chose two options of the water tank to manually empty, or the long hose at the back to put down a drain which I have, so never have to worry about emptying it. - fits under standard bench size - no condensation - stylish & nice to use - the door doesn’t lock, so if you need something out sooner you can without having to wait for the cycle or restart it again. - the sheet setting makes them so nice, soft & not creased. (We use bamboo sheets.) - so many different options to cover everything! - You also have an option for 30 mins, 60mins or 90 mins cycle, which I love. - I put it on over night & have also been known to forget to get the clothes out until 30 hours later. They do not smell or havn’t had any dramas when leaving them in. - different drying settings from damp, dry, extra dry.

Cons: - if selecting ‘auto mode’ it doesn’t give you a count down time. - It does make warm air, BUT no condensation or moisture. It’s a dryer after all & all dryers make some kind of warmth / heat.

Bought through the good guys Cairns who price matched, great service. I always buy products based of real reviews & hope this one helps someone else in deciding. I defiantly recommend this product! Even my partner who argued we don’t need one uses it twice a week & is super easy for him to understand & use too.
