Do not buy this dryer. Worse purchase ever. I feel like I work for the dryer as it beeps every 10 minutes to clean out lint filter. It takes hours to dry sheets which end up in a ball. I have to constantly be monitoring the dryer and spend so much time been frustrated with an expensive machine that does not do the job. Stick to the older style models where you clothes come out hot and dry. Show details

The Drain hose is not designed to attach under-bench to a spigot on your under-laundry tub drain. F&P thinks you should just hang the hose over the top of the tub or down a stand-up pipe. I pointed out that those 1960's approaches were not how modern laundries are designed in Australia, as most new setups were side by side under a bench and no way… Read more

to route a drain-pipe back up to the top of a tub (and who would want to)!

The reality is this appears to be a European design thin hose that has not been adapted for Australia and has not been provided with $2 spigot adaptor as standard kit here. Other brands have specific additional parts, like a funnel adaptor and holder, (which is really required for safe use), but not part of the F&P kit.

There is also a ton of feedback on-line about this issue and several micky-mouse methods people show how they overcome the problem... so F&P should be aware and have had years to fix (same issue was with my 6 yr. old condenser drier). So F&P must surely be aware and choose to do nothing to help Ozzie customers - very poor show.

Fisher & Paykel is owned by Chinese company Haier and the quality control has clearly suffered. Purchased a new dryer on Sunday, unpacked it and there was no bracket to hold the replaceable filter onto the condenser filter unit. I spent an hour on the phone with customer service on Monday, sent photos and explained everything. I was told that a… Read more

service technician had to be consulted and they would get back to me. Now it's Thursday and I received an email saying, "The bracket should be on the back of the filter unit".

It's not! That's why I called and logged a service request!

So now it's Thursday and I'm stuck in a service loop. I very much doubt this will be resolved by the weekend which is terrible customer service.

All over what is probably a $2 spare part that was supposed to be supplied with the unit and was not.

Now it will be up to me to repack this dryer and return it for a refund.

Terrible service from a once good brand that has clearly suffered as a result of new owners.

Update: Spoke with customer service after this review and the part is apparently being sent to me.

Do not buy – - the worst dryer ever. Bought as a package it has been replaced once because of a bearing fault and the second is beginning to sound exactly the same. Cannot believe it takes over four hours to dry a load of sheets that come out so tangled it’s just ridiculous. Worst purchase ever Show details

Not a great purchase – When buying a dryer you want it to dry sheets, this machine takes over 3 hours to dry sheets as they end up in a big ball, you need to go to the machine every 10 mins to take sheets out undo ball and put back in. Show details

still a along way to go – this is our third F&P dryer as the last heat pump unit died and we needed a matching unit to stack on the washer. They have made some improvements with the lint filter before the condenser with the addition of a foam pad although they have made it harder to clean the fine mesh filter in the process. They still have to come some way to match some… Read more

of the euro designs. we still have problems with sheets as they still haven't worked out the drum needs to spin both ways an equal number of revolutions, pretty simple stuff really but the F&P engineers are still asleep on this one. we still have to run the dryer for extended periods with these types of loads. we haven't used the wifi feature yet and not sure if we would really use this function. everyday loads of mixed clothes seem to go well though and works as expected with little fuss. it has a large amount of drying cycles and we probably wont use these as with a large family house it gets worked every day with mixed clothes loads. i would recommend the maximum extended warranty be purchased as dryers seem to fail when they are out of standard warranty period like our 2 previous dryers have.

Disgrace of a dryer – Like so many other buyers of a Fisher & Paykel condenser dryer I totally regret my purchase. This dryer takes hours (12 hours plus) to dry a load of towels. Technician has been out twice and no solution provided - other than to ensure the condenser is spotlessly clean every use. So here we are spending 30 minutes with soft cloths and cotton buds… Read more

to clean a dryer, so that we may have some hope of getting our clothes dry (it remains hit and miss). There is clearly a fundamental design flaw with these dryers.

Obsessed with this dyer – Absolutely obsessed with this dryer. It keeps my clothes soft, it’s energy efficient, and it so easy to use! I use this dryer multiple times a week and it doesn’t hurt my pockets when I get my electricity bill. Definitely recommend this dryer to everyone! Show details
