Great for 1 to 2 people. Perfect for a studio – The fridge is really good I believe and for one main reason. It is quiet... It may not seem like much but it's very important, and those who live in studio or 1 bedroom apartment know that. Noisy fridge are such a pain, whenever you watch TV or sleep etc.... With this fridge, you could live in a tiny studio and that won't be a problem. Plus… Read more
the it's rather slim and tall so it's easy to fit in a 'tight' space.
The cooling of the fridge is good, never had any problems in the past 2 years. Freezer is frost free and works well.
There's a dedicated tray for eggs in the door, VERY HANDY, and some protection lids for the other trays.
Overall it's a great fridge if you're a young couple, or single.
I Am Mortified At What Fisher & Paykel Have Tried To Do! – I am beyond mortified. I complained about my brand new fridge making loud, gurgling noises that wake me up at night and asked for Fisher & Paykel to come out and look at it. In the first instance, on 20/07/17 the Fisher & Paykel technician came to my house, spent 5 minutes and tells me that the loud hissing/gurgling noises are normal across… Read more
all the fisher and paykel fridges now "it's just how they're made now".
Then, without calling me back and explaining anything further, Fisher & Paykel dispatches another fridge to me via a courier, and to my horror, i find that the fridge is SECOND HAND!!!
The fridge had plastic on it to make it appear unused and brand new, but upon closer inspection, it had grease inside the fridge and stains in the freezer!! I couldn't believe it!
What's more, there is no warranty card inside it, like all new appliances are accompanied with.
What Fisher & Paykel is doing is blatant fraud - they've dressed up an old fridge and tried to palm it off on me as a new one.
I purchased my brand new fisher and paykel fridge in May 2017. It was faulty and after i complained about it, Fisher & Paykel's solution was to send me a second hand fridge, dressed up in plastic.
No choice here but to contact Fair Trading.
I can't believe how shady Fisher & Paykel have been. Worst. Experience. EVER.
Don't trust the brand!!!
EFFICIENT, WELL SET- UP – This is a great sized fridge for our needs, everything is set up well & the fittings are all sturdy. They have managed too get the lighting perfect as there are no darker corners, unlike another fridge I have. Seems to be power efficient & the seals are really good too. I am very pleased with this fridge.
Use is as expected – I only bought this fridge because it was the largest one that could fit in a small space in my apartment. Pros: - Not too much heat behind the fridge - Overall good fridge for cooling at a good range temperatures - Electricity bill didn't come as a shock, so i guess its ok in energy consumption - No auditble noises - its quite quiet - if… Read more
you have a lot of food, this isn't quite big enough, but i usually clear our the fridge every week and restock, so its actually an OK size.
Cons:
- i didn't close the fridge properly once, and it melted both the fridge and partially the freezer (even though freezer was closed)
- The metal material on the fridge has slightly scratches from magnets, and fingerprints, so in terms of durability, its not the best, but its also not too obvious unless you look very close.
- the glass inside can get a little sticky, and you'll need to remove the entire combinet to clean.
- ice tray is permanently stuck there, so if you want to remove it to store something, you can't.
If i had a choice (without size constraints) i would go for the Mitsubishi range instead, they look more modern and better compartments.
Otherwise, the price is probably a bit hefty for what it is. if you can get a discount, then its still a good fridge.
The Expert recommended – We were sad to throw out our old F & P Active Smart fridge, as after 17 years of robust family use, it looked immaculate, the seals were perfect, it's never needed anything fixed and it has worked so well. But it stopped and the efficient F & P repairman said the compressor had finally worn out, not worth fixing. We asked him what sort of fridge… Read more
to buy, and he said for long life, easy service and spare parts, stick with the tried and true: F & P, Westinghouse or Electrolux.
So we just bought another F & P. The works seem much the same as the old one, and the construction seems at least as strong. The stainless front is heavy and dent resistant, can't be depressed with a thumb like car and dishwasher panels. And it's real stainless - some competitors use some kind of fake - treated somehow so finger marks don't show. The interior is heavy ABS, better than some other makes, although my wife thinks the veggie bin looks flimsy. And the fridge is very quiet. So far, we are impressed!
Perfect – Our space was limited so this one fitted well. I went for the top mount freezer as I wanted more fridge space than freezer. It’s slimline design is attractive and easy to wipe off finger marks. The door has excellent storage space. Make sure you run it empty for 3 hours when you first get it. I haven’t needed to fiddle with the temperature or… Read more
humidity controls as it does its job. Cheapest price was from Whitfords at Five Dock. Fischer and Paykel seems to have a good reputation amongst friends and colleagues but the fridges are made in China now. It is on rollers which is a plus for cleaning.
Awesome fridge – I've had this fridge for nearly 10 years, I've never had a drama with it, this fridge has been through it all, as I bought it while still young my fridge put up with all the drunks at parties every weekend, slamming of the door when angry, the glass shelves are quiet durable they have endured anything and anything being thrown on/at them due to my… Read more
now 5 year old twins "helping" mummy. I've never had it break down (touch wood) seals are the original, and I thinks I've only ever had to defrost it twice. I have not one complaint about this fridge at all Reliable long life easy maintenance
My biggest mistake I bought f&p fridge – I had LG fridge which was a smaller than this my LG fridge never let me down for last 13 years now I feel like crying. I bought f & p on very first two days it let me down I wish I swipe to another brand. I bought fisher paykel due to his design and big shelves because my old fridge was small that's why I had to buy another one. I hate f & p… Read more
products. I will not recommend it. Right now my fridge is not cooling and it's just not cooling my food and I am so upset. With my LG fridge it was my baby I miss it so much it never failed me once if I have to ever buy fridge again I will go back to LG fridge, they might have small space but will last forever. My brother and his wife purchased fisher paykel fridge and the fridge had cooling problem and the washing machine does not spin well their clothes comes out dripping water from their clothes. I will not recommend f&p to anyone please guys do some research from your friends and family and google it online. If fridge had good cooling system and not break down very often I would love f&p but now I hate it. I had my LG for last 13 years and it's still working because I gave it to my neighbour I miss LG and you will never be disappointed. I am going to get new top loader God willing but it will be simpson again simpson is excellent brand too like LG. Do yourself a favour and do some reassech first but stay away. Good designs great and big shelves Cooling system breaks Dow alwa
This was my last F&P appliance – I bought my the F&P based on my previous old Kelvinator / F&P fridges. They used to be fantastic but since they changed the manufacturing from NZ to China all their appliances lost their usual good quality. I bought the E411-T and when it arrived and I powered it on, the fridge would not work. Called F&P and asked for a replacement - they did… Read more
not want to replace but send a technician. Called the store I bought it from (Farmers NZ) and they were pretty decent and replaced the fridge straight away.
1 year later the fridge started making ice in the freezer and a while later the whole fridge stopped working and it would beep and flash like a xmas tree. $300 later on F&P services, the fridge seemed to work again. 6 months more, the fridge does not cool anymore and F&P wants to send a technician ($125 just for the visit + parts) to "fix" the fridge. I had enough of poor quality F&P equipment and service. This fridge will go out the door and I am going to a store to buy a new fridge.
Does not cool, does not work
Good – I do like my fridge despite the noises it makes-like ice cracking and it is loud-but I wouldnt buy another upside down fridge as they dont have any more space in the freezer as the baskets take up a bit of space and they arent easy to get to if you have problems with knees etc. Keeps on going.... Noises..........
Good – My mum recently bought this fridge and has been very happy with it. It's a good size and she particularly likes the door shelves. Her only criticism is that the freezer is a little small and that next time she'll buy an upside down fridge (ie freezer on the bottom). Door shelves are great for drinks and milk, vegetable cripser works well, door alarm Freezer a bit small
Terrible – Not good enough. Not only do their refrigerators only last a couple of years but they do not care about after sales service. They offer a 24/7 call centre - that is fine if you only want to clean your machine - anything else they can not help you with. Their is NO consumer care - once they have your money that is all they are interested in. … Read more
DO NOT BUY Fisher & Paykel products - they are not worth the anguish This refrigerator looked nice and offered features like alams when door is left open After 3 years it broke down - the F & P repairer took 6 days to come to look at the machine as they were so busy. He could not fix the fridge and had to order a part - after a week the part still had not arrived. F & P could not care less and despite repeated calls no one would ring me back and tell me what was happening.
Excellent – Great little fridge. Can't fault it... except for the lack of space in the fruit and veggie crisper. The wine rack is my favourite feature. Comes with a handy ice cube tray compartment in the top freezer. Freezer also has two great compartments on the door. Plenty of space on the door. Shelves are made of glass and very easy to remove for… Read more
cleaning. Temperature settings very easy to use. The wine rack. This is a great little add on. Keeps the weight off the door. I don't have to stack bottles on the fridge door. Vegetable crisper is a little too small.

Excellent – Very good value, excellent performance, great reliability, intelligent storage layout, easy to keep clean, nice design. What more could you want! Be aware that people are more inclined to complain than praise items in these reviews, as usually happy people don't bother trying to tell you what they think. I bought my E413T just after they were… Read more
released in 1998. In 2009 it is still going strong and has never let me down. It has been economical and keeps my fruit and veges fresh for weeks. I was amazed how much longer I could keep hard fruit and veges, and even soft items like lettuces and zucchinis lastest twice as long as my old fridge. I had my door converted by F & P technician from LH hinge to RH hinge when I moved. No problem at all. The butter/cheese compartment door occasionally falls off and you have to clip it back again (easy). Sometimes makes pretty loud cracking or popping noises during its defrost cycle in the middle of the night.
Terrible – stay away from this particular Model and to be honest i probably wouldn't recommend any fisher and paykel fridge. i would highly recommend another brand of fridge if you are in the market for buyin a new fridge reason why i purchased this fridge is cause it sounds of an alarm when the doors are left open and it is also a frost free this is the… Read more
worst brand of fridge that i have purchased and i have made this biggest mistake by trading in my mothers perfectly good Kelvinator fridge for this piece of Rubbish what a total loss of money. it has a manufacturers fault internal casing of the fridge down the bottom where the plastic draw sits cracks on both sides, it freezes my food and i have to chuck my food out. i am totally disappointed in this product i had nothing but problems with this fridge not long after purchase. Also a friend of mine has another model of Fisher & Paykel Fridge 'Frost Free' she also has nothing but problems with her Fridge.

F&P comes with a 2year warrenty so if it stopped after a year all repairs are free.
