Poor quality machine – Expected to get much more life for such an expensive machine and only 7yrs old, my old LG washer lasted 8yrs and I gave it away still working. Replaced the drain pump 2 weeks ago and now the drum bearing has gone and of course you can't just replace the bearing you have to replace half the bloody machine and pay 3/4 the original sale price to get it fixed. I'll never by Fisher and paykel again. Purchased 2014. Show details

Ok when new. Not long lasting – Bought new to replace failed LG front loader. Worked well for about 3-4 years. Drum bearing failed and repair costs are prohibitive. Would expect a longer service life than this. Wouldn't buy or recommend F&P. Show details

Control board issues and Noisy washer after months of usage, and not impressed with customer service – The control board randomly malfunctions. Sometimes, spin won't end - you have to time it and check it when you are using it. Sometimes, I would check after 2 hours and it is still spinning and clock won't move. 2yrs, call our technician if you want to book"...I contacted them just after 2yrs from purchasing the washing machine.

This is a very different experience from my older washing machine Whirpool who gave me a replacement part even after 4 yrs free of charge. I only bought the Fisher and Paykel because we need a bigger washing machine. Until now, I still use the Whirpool once a week for our rags, mats and functioning properly - 8yrs old and counting.

year old machine which I'm fanatical about what detergent I use and how much I load in any one cycle. If you call customer Care they are beyond helpful. Do not waste your money on this product.

No regrets – We bought this washing machine three and a half years a go and it has worked well for us. Washes well, isn't super loud. Only time we have had issues is when bobby pins have gotten stuck in the hoses and that was a simple fix. Not a bad buy.  Show details

Big, reliable – So good. I have the matching dryer as well, both work without any issues. Clean clothes even comes out cleaner. Easy to clean, really quiet. Front Loader bearing noise – Bearing noise, inspected & bearing is worn already after just 2 years & can not get replacement bearing & seal. Most annoyed as it cost $950 just 2 years ago. spinning, I think this was due to it being unbalanced with not enough clothing in it, but if you put in a half or full load of washing it doesn't have this problem. It is very water efficient, using around half the amount of water that our last machine did. It is very easy to use and has a good selection of wash cycles. I love the delayed start feature and the fact that you can adjust each programs spin speed and wash temperature easily if you need to.

Fantastic – Bought this machine for nearly two years, never have a problem. Simple to use and love the quiet direct drive motor, you don't even realise it is running. Good cycle options, touch dial, great for high energy and water savings. Just love the machine, it is value for money and the best washing machine I ever have.

First one didn't work second one o.k – I have always had a top loader and mine died recently after 15 years of service. I did quite a bit of research and thought this f&p would be the best bet. second machine worked however I found that the top loader never needed fabric softner and this one does also the clothes are much wetter when it finishes washing them. On the plus side it uses less water and has plenty of wash cycles to choose from.

We have found that sometimes you have to do another spin cycle so you can dry your clothes faster, apart from that it has worked like a dream.

BEWARE This machine If You Have A Wooden Floor – Researched this and the P1 model with more washing cycles and bought this when the P1 was out of stock everywhere. 30 minute wash is a good option although it would be greatly enhanced if one could add softener to this cycle. (The P1 model even has a 15 minute ultra quick wash).

Unfortunately from day 1 this model had problems spinning, shaking badly, jumping across the floor, it had been professionally installed and leveled.

The 59 minute cycle grew in excess of 1 1/2 hours, repeatedly turning off with a balance error message. We bought a rubber mat, also a set of rubber cups that glue to the floor and the machine jumped out of these cups, ripped them to shreds and bounced across the floor. It was dangerous. This may be a wonderful machine on concrete floors but is about

to be replaced, 6 months old.

hand wash it didnt loose shape. Has 15 and 30 min quick washes. I purchased the 8.5 and my king doona washable fits in. Also has a programme for these as well. The Sales person said this is the most popular machine they sell, and he has just purchased one himself. The one thing he passed on to me was not to put one or two things in the machine as they can be to light and washing machine may not sense properly. Add a towel if you are.

Door is a great size. Its not bulky looking so fits beautifully in my laundry. Has a timer tells you time until finished. Someone on here said it didnt but mine does. Woukd highly recommend. I am very fussy about expectations of how laundry is washed and looks after wash. Also the Good Guys match prices.

this model has a engine guarantee for 10 years... the front loader saves on both water and power too which is a great investment! We are a family of five and the 8.5 kg size is also magic no more doing 2 loads a day! Thank you Fisher & Paykel, love your work!

Disappointed – Not impressed by this machine . It's very rough 90% of the washing is badly creased , the spin only cycle rinses before spinning . Apparently this is supposed to happen according to FP but the instruction book says no such thing . Sorry I bought it .

leaves the clothes wrinkly sometimes even when I get them out of the machine straight away and I give them a good shake before I hang them out.

I have now had this machine for over a year and am very happy with it. I have had no troubles whatsoever. If i was to criticism anything it would be the time that the wash says it will be finished in it usually goes over that but not a huge worry. I always use the everyday wash on cold, says it takes 59 minutes but can take up to 1hr 20 minutes if you have a big load of towels etc as it takes more time to spin them, but very small criticism.

WH8560J1 is as good as WH8560P1 – It's funny that F&P washer WH8560P1 is getting very good review on this website, but not WH8560J1 here. Think of it, P1 and J1 are exactly the same machine, except P1 has more features eg. add a garment, that's about it. So, if P1 is fetching good reviews, J1 should be the same, make sense? This is the best machine that I've ever owned, compared to LG, Samsung, Electrolux etc. This machine stands out from the rest, as it's got a DC motor (in my opinion) and that's the reason the it's quiet and reliable (10 yrs warranty). It's so quiet that I'd need to check it out sometimes to see if it finishes washing.

It's got "drum clean" function, which is very good, as most people don't know that washing machines collect dirts & germs after years of use.

You'd need to get a good appliances shop to deliver the machine, not those online appliances companies, as only the good appliances retailers would know what to take note during delivery, eg. to remove the bolts properly in order not to damage your washers. reliable, quiet, drum clean function
