Broke after two months. Still waiting on a response – Water leaked out of the door handles within two months of purchase. Technician arrived after two weeks. Have been waiting four months with no answer. Customer support seemed annoyed that I even asked why I'm still waiting. Said they would contact me a month ago still nothing. Worst purchase of my life. Edit: Customer support got back to me… Read more

stating they'll extend my warranty but still have not indicated when my fridge will be fixed. They stated the part had arrived in the country. Then the next email said they were waiting for it to arrive and then the final email said it was with the technician and he would contact me but that was over a week ago.

I said that if it's going to take 4-5 months for the part then they should replace the entire fridge as I think that's fair. Especially because it was only a couple months old. No reply.

Edit 2: It has been six months and I still have issues. They replaced the door ONLY but the handle on the new door sits about an inch lower than the other side. Also as the door comes as a shell without hinges, handles etc the technician broke the upper hinge cover when replacing. Booked in for three weeks time for someone to inspect again. I'm guessing I'll have to wait another six months for parts to arrive.

Edit 3: New door is now leaking air and causing condensation to form and drip. Technician came and Fisher & Paykel still refuse to replace fridge. Has now been 7-8 months without a properly functioning fridge.

4 1/2 years old and already an oil and gas leak plus ongoing problems with the french doors – Firstly the technician tried to convince me that there is nothing wrong with it even though the smell is absolutely choking. He kept insisting he couldn't find anything wrong and I had to insist otherwise. Then he finally did find the gas and oil leak. The mannerism is totally lacking and professionalism can't even be mentioned! I was promised a… Read more

loan fridge: that was 4 days ago. I rang Customer Service and after 45 min on hold did speak to a representative who was of no help whatsoever. Also the tiny plastic part which holds the spring for the doors keeps breaking.

All in all: totally lacking on all levels for a fridge I paid A$ 2549.00 for!! Plus I will be billed for the transport of the faulty fridge to the warehouse and back!!

Great for fresh produce – We purchased this fridge as we love to eat fresh, healthy produce and it had won awards for its ability to maintain the quality of fruit and veggies. the shelves and baskets are easy to reposition to suit you. However, the fridge is extremely hard to keep clean. The finish is very unforgiving, and what’s worse it that there is direct warning to… Read more

avoid using ANY sort of cleaning product other than water which is not ideal With children around. Fisher and Paykel would do well to develope a cleaning product suitable for their range.

Our last fridge of many – Generally happy with this fridge. Crisper tray does need both doors open and freezer could be larger. However quietest fridge we have owned and we have open plan kitchen, lounge, dining area so this is important! Does get some condensation at top of joint in gap between doors on worst humid days. Easy to clean.  Show details

Great little fridge – I've only had this fridge for a month but its been great thus far. It makes little to no noise, which is a bonus. The only annoying thing is both fridge doors needs to be opened to access the crisper. The freezer component is a tad small but it's enough for the 2 of us at the moment.  Show details

Poor customer service – Fridge stopped working, on calling customer support was told we had to wait a week for technician. The technician arrived and believed there was a faulty weld that has let gas escape. As the fridge is 3 years old only the compressor would be covered by warranty even though he believes the fault would have been there from manufacture. But they… Read more

may not replace the compressor if they can get the fridge working by replacing parts at our cost and re-gassing.

Best part is while being run around by customer service on the phone to be told that this is a result of global warming.

Great family fridge – Super easy to clean and the moveable shelves make it easy to fill without looking overflowed. Great storage in the freezer too as I have a lot of meals I’ve frozen :) it fits perfectly and isn’t too wide. The shelves come out for easy cleaning and the surface doesn’t tarnish so it only needs a wipe down.  Show details

Love it – This fridge is great. Roomy with large wide shelves and being glass you can see everything in the fridge. It is quiet (the only time it is noisy is when it drops a load of ice). The temperature control is great and things last aa long time in the crispers (it has special settings for each sort of food you may store there). I haven't had any… Read more

problems with the doors closing, they self-close and make a tight connection. The freezer is roomy, but not as easy to use as an above fridge type, due to the fact that you can't really stack food and see it as well. The cold water and ice maker are great and ice production is quick enough to keep up with our demand. I'd recommend this to anyone.

Such a good fridge – I bought this from Harvey Norman during the discount season. The reason I bought this is the huge space it has. And also this brand is famous in Australia. The temperature can be customised so I don't really worry about the the funiction part. It's a bit hard to clean for the reason of its big storage space.  Show details

Great Value Entertainers Fridge – So this fridge has changed my thinking on what's important in a fridge. I used to think just keeping stuff cold and stopping it going rotten was enough. This fridge certainly is good at that, all shelves have good temp.Trust me, I have checked with an infra red gun. The vege compartment is also good at keeping vegetables crisp although I do… Read more

prefer just one large bin with a movable divider as opposed to the 2 bins you get with this fridge. Easier to accommodate long vegetables like celery.

The freezer compartment has sliding rails which do get quite stiff when frozen so it doesn't glide as smooth as it should.I had F&P come out and check and they said this is normal.Size in the freezer is a bit smaller because of the ice maker but this bit of kit is amazing. I mean you always have ice on tap stored in a removable bucket. Great for cocktails and kids drinks in summer. If it starts to get low just hit the turbo ice button in the fridge compartment and your back in business. The other wonder of this beauty is the water dispenser in the door, once plumbed in provides filtered water whenever you need it. It does have one flaw and that is in summer it does struggle to keep the water icy cold, the first glass always is but subsequent glasses come out just cool. This feature alone has got my kids drinking water all the time, whether novelty factor or convenience I think it's brilliant.

I find this fridge very easy to keep clean with the glass shelves and external stainless, it's just a quick wipe down.

I do find that in the still of the night that this fridge can be loud at times, it seems when the compressor is on the contents inside vibrate against the inside of the fridge. If nothing is touching the sides then this fridge is very quite.

Overall the Ice Maker & water dispenser make this fridge great for entertaining and will be a must have on any fridge going forward.

Perfect for apartment – Perfect temperature to maintain all types of food in the fridge. Spacious and shelves can be easily rearranged to fit different sized items and for cleaning. A minor dent when the fridge was delivered but it was sorted out really quickly. Ice and water compartment were an excellent choice especially if you like to entertain.  Show details

Yuck – Since the fridge arrived now 2 years ago I have been phoning and emailing Fisher & Paykel so many times about having to throw out hundreds of dollars of slimy and mouldy fruit and vegetables after only a few days in the trays. fridge still faulty. I still keep emailing them over the same problem and guys come out. One told me to put layers of paper towels in each tray to absorb the water. I stopped after a while as I was throwing out lots of soggy paper towels with rotten veggies and fruit. I was then told it would be taken away to get taken apart and checked out. Nothing happened. Contacted them yet again and was told would be expensive as my fridge is 12 years old. They knew that it was only 2 years old. One guy came out a few times and in the end told me to contact the complaints department as I should be getting a replacement as my fridge is not right. I contacted them and of course nothing happened. The next guy who came this week told me the fruit and veggie trays shouldn't be used for them and that's the problem. That's a good joke. This has been going on since the fridge arrived and Fisher & Paykel keep either ignoring me or making stupid excuses. They know it's faulty and should replaced it long ago. Never buy any of their white goods.

Best Fridge I've Owned – This fridge has plenty of room and with the double doors it's easy to put large platters on the glass shelves. There's also plenty of room in the deep doors for milk and drinks and the adjustable shelves are easy to clean. The fresh food drawers also hold all my fresh fruit and vegetables. Otherwise, the doors are handy and well positioned. Is a pity that both fridge doors need to be open before the drawer can be opened.

Disappointed that we are told to buy a new water filter every 6 months-at $81 each. First catch of water could be colder- seems a waste to have to pour a few glasses before it is very cold.

Great Fridge and Freezer – I bought this Fridge back in January and got it delivered on 1st April 2016. it's been 3 months I've been using this fridge. This is our first french door fridge with drawer freezer. Pro: - Automatic ice machine separate from fridge water dispenser which saves a lot of room in the fridge door. - Perfect size for a couple or family of 4. I… Read more

didn't leave enough room for the next model 610L french door RF622ADUSX5 since I only left 900mm for the fridge cavity when I renovated the kitchen. This fridge is quite short and would like the bigger 610L model but warranty will void if I try to fit into the cavity without any room on the sides so I got this model instead.

- LED Light on the water dispenser on the door water dispenser however it only comes on when you start using the dispenser first so if you're in the dark you have to find it and -start filling the glass without spilling first.

-Stainless steel doors are magnetic even though it's stainless steel so if you collect fridge magnets it'll stick on the doors.

-Water tastes good from the fridge water dispenser and carbon filter does a good job.

-Water is not extreme cold but cool around 10-12'degrees. If you like water freezing cold have to add ice.

-Wine bottle holder is a good addition so wine bottles will not roll around.

-$600 worth of wine promotion which is a great bonus and I got the wine within 6 weeks. Looking forward to tasting the $100 bottle.

-Fridge is quiet but I read other people saying this fridge is noisy but so far the noise doesn't bother me. Maybe noisy on old model RF522ADUSX4 and not RF522ADUSX5.

-Soft closing fridge french door is great function.

Con:

-No Egg Trays in this model. Why is that???

-Ice machine can be noisy but once the ice is full and if you don't use ice often you can turn off ice button on the fridge control panel.

-Water dispenser gets pretty dirty and gets water marks on the black dispenser easily and it's unsightly.

-Water filter doesn't soften water if you have hard tap water. It's only 1 stage carbon filter.

-Freezer door has to be push all the way for the soft close to work with a bit of effort.

-Not much stuff fits in the freezer.

-Stainless steel surface gets scratched easily even when you put on the fridge magnets it'll leave a small scratch.

-Stainless steel surface is not hand print resistant.

I really like the design and sleek look of this fridge. I this fridge at a great price of $2100 including 3yrs extended and delivery so it was a great buy but for a retail price I might have to consider buying this. So far me and my fiance love the functionality and practicality of the fridge. The only thing we really dislike about this fridge is THERE ARE NO EGG TRAYS on the door in the egg department. Called F&P for egg trays and they said this model doesn't come with an egg tray. This is really disappointing because we keep eggs in the fridge and it takes up too much room on the shelf if we have the dozen egg carton, instead of having it on the door (Minor inconvenience but none the less inconvenience) since there isn't a great deal of room, I believe this is the smallest french door fridge. So F&P contact me if you have a solution for me if you have any egg tray I can use on the door top compartment.

I recommend this fridge but get the 610L f&P french door model if you have the space.

Great fridge and freezer – Pros: After 20years our old french door fridge and freezer finally died. New one had to fit in same fridge space so ended up with the F&P. Good so far. We like the wide open shallow shelves so can easily access things. Relatively quiet compared to old fridge. Hold less but more efficient to run. Nice led lighting. Alarm when door left open… Read more

which you can switch off. Retails $2799

Cons:

Have to use plumber to fit filter on to ensure still under warranty. We already had water point which you need to consider say $150-$200. Store only deliver and unbox.

Have 8year old and shelves higher for him to access. Also stainless steel finish smudges very easily, not good for those that are clean freaks. Old fridge was white one, but this looks alot nicer.

The door shelves aren't very deep, so don't store as many drinks on door as previous.

Makes good ice and chilled water good..Notes say to replace every 6mths and their like $75-80 each.

Has quick wine bottle chiller. Haven't used as yet. Fast ice making seems to be fine.

We did notice motor turns off in cycle when you open doors then goes again when door closed but wonder how long the motor will last doing this all the time. Has 2year warranty. Didn't take out extended. $2475.00 delivered and to have old fridge removed. Make sure you can get old one out through front door.

All good so far. Update 3/6/16 still good. No issues.

Update 4/11/16 still good, but have noticed at night the defrost cycle or something does make some noise. Not abnormal, just slight noise. New filter light comes on front indicator. Not sure how to turn that off without changing filter. The little ice scoop is hard to take out and reinstate as the pull out drawer doesn't come out far enough as holder located on side rather than front side of the ice container.

Update 21/01/2018 Still running well. Noticed the defrosting or noise goes on randomly. Maybe for an hour. Sounds like a soft electrical buzz sound. Seems to be a normal thing. Not an issue really. You do notice it though when it happens. Otherwise very quiet. Still works very well.

UPDATE 4/9/2018 The fridge has just come back from repair. The noise of the compressor was getting louder and not going off. Originslly we though the fridge was unbalanced or seals not closing freezer properly. Not really happy that it needed new parts. Loam fridge provided and they has it for a few days. Underwarranty repair, because we got them to look at it within the 2 years and they recorded the issue but couldnt work out what it was. I think they knew, but was hoping it would fix itself. Just be cautious of this model. Take out the extra 1 or 2 year warranty. Not sure I would buy same one. We didnt have much choice as it has to fit in the fridge space we had and not many other options with ice maker.

Good Fridge, but – One of the reasons for choosing this fridge was because it opens from the middle so you can have big trays for entertaining, but also having the fridge at eye height, rather than the freezer, which you don't use as often, made so much more sense. The real reason for choosing this particular fridge was mostly for logistic reasons. When I moved… Read more

into my new apartment there was a tap for the ice and filtered water so we chose a fridge with these options. We measured the space and bought a fridge to fit. Somehow the measurements didn't add up though because cabinet handles, light switches, microwave door handles, etc. made the alleyway between the island bench and the other benches smaller than we had measured.

The manufacturers will never offer it, and it can void warranties, but for a little extra Harvey Norman advised us of a service which can take the door handles, or the complete doors, off the fridge to get it into the space. (All of the storage cages in the building had French-door style fridges inside them - these were because the owners couldn't even get them through the front door! Measure twice and measure again).

Some of the reviews of this fridge said it was loud and yes, it is louder than any fridge I've owned before. Not enough to have to turn the TV up or anything but it has many motorised parts, with the ice maker and other "smart" things.

I don't like having to open both of the French doors to get to the fruit and veg drawers. They have separate baskets so I thought they could be accessed by just opening one fridge door, but both baskets sit on a drawer so both doors must be opened fully - what is that?

The reviews mentioned the freezer drawer was hard to pull out and it almost feels like it's scraping. I agree with this, it is very heavy to pull out but it has loads of space, then there is a tray which houses the ice tray (a bit too loud at night time so I usually have it turned off) and some extra space for stuff. I wonder if it would be easier to open a door and have three drawers or a smaller tray and two separate drawers so that one big heavy drawer didn't have to be dragged out.

The filter for the water must be mounted on the wall somewhere. You don't want to see that so naturally you would mount it behind the fridge - I wonder how many filters have been changed since being installed, since you have to pull the whole fridge out to change it. Not sure how it could be any better though.

Over all I like my fridge - it's not the most elegant of the French door fridges, but is pretty good in its functions, space and the little guides to stop bottles rolling around is a neat addition. It did make a strange noise today - hoping it's a one off and it will be a great fridge for a long time. (My Westinghouse was great for 15 years).
