Fisher & Paykel FabricSmart IW812 Questions & Answers
VerifiedI have a top loader F&P IW812 on first rinse no water is added however on 2nd rinse water is added. What's not working or is it a programing thing ?
Hi, A s far as I can see it's a programming thing. However, the wash quality which is always great seems unaffected by this action in the cycle, as far as I can see anyway.
I have fault code 37 coming up on a IW812, No blockages etc, turn machine off and then back on. set manually to spin and works until next spin cycle. reset again till finish.
Hello I have had my Fisher & Paykel iw812 machine 17 years has been absolutely brillant. Just recently water has been dripping from the water inlet valve inside the machine. Do I need to organise a service person to attend and can this be fixed.
Error code 105. Says its a comms error. How to reset codes?

How do you set washing cycles on this machine so I don't have to keep setting it every time i use it?
Dont have your model washing machine. Sorry unable to help you.
As far as I know, these machines do not have a "favourite" feature.
IW812 had Fault code 37 and in a Diagnostic mode the Pump was not pumping out, changed the diverter valve, now it pumps out in the diagnostic mode but in normal operation, it seems stuck in the recirculating mode and won't drain. I have checked the Pump and the drain hose all good. Any ideas?
Is the pump blocked with fluff etc?
Is the hose blocked? try back flushing it
Terry, Did you find out problem?
I have a code 37 which I have read that this is the most common problem that occurs with Fisher and Paykel . . Do I need to replace the secondary pump or would a clean sort this problem?
Is not a common problem, very seldom happens (more chance of a controller or inlet valve)
I have had my My Fisher and Paykal Intuitive W812 top loader for 11 years.
Now when I do a wash, the machine starts to fill up with water, then a short time later it beeps and stops with a message saying "Help I'm not getting any water". I then have to press start to recommence the washing cycle.
Can anyone help?
Possible faulty hot water valve.
if not, then temp sensor or controller.
Our iw812 has no power what so ever no led. Is it worth fixing?
Hey machine is telling me it needs a service fault code 130 call for service. Any ideas?
how to clean the filter?
I only had this for a few months and did not have a need to clean the filter yet
There is no filter to clean. Sit back and Relax with a good book such as the machine's manual.
Hi F&P WASHING MACHINE IW812. Power keeps cutting out get code 37error. So we removed pumped turned it cleared hoses etc no blockage. Put pump back on turned machine on & smelt burning. Pump redhot to touch. Let it Cool down went to turn machine back on & no power, nothing no lights noise etc. Any ideas?
I had this same problem. Machine would say power cut every few minutes on the spin and rinse cycle then it wouldn't turn on at all. I had to get a fisher and Paykel service man to come in. $250 for the part + inspection. I believe it was the mother board and the water pump. Would be best to ring them. They said they is a rare problem, however that must be a lie because so many have reported this problem. Hope this helps
Thanks Brya still trying to sort it!!
replace the drain pump... it is overheating.
Thanks fisher man. Pump needs replacing but it blew the control panel with it!
Continues in demo mode, how do you switch off demo mode?
Hi Wayne, I'm sorry I didn't realise it had a Demo mode. I'm not sure how to solve that problem. I hope you get it sorted though.
Demo mode? What demo mode...
Top load machines do not have demo mode - what is there to demo?
My washing machine came up with an error code 37 the other day that hasn't appeared again but now it won't do rinse 1 or 2 cycles or the spin just sits there but the timer still counts down, any suggestions?

I have the same problem too
I've had an error 49 which ended up being controller board based. So replaced the board (420093 SD11) with an SD12 board, connected it all up except for diverter harness, since my SD11 board never had this. (Australia based by the way). Ran a test cycle and came up with Error 51, diverter fault. So....what do I do, since I never had this diverter in the first place, so nowhere to connect this "new" harness ???
Due to the risk of injury or even death, Fisher & Paykel strongly recommend that servicing electrical appliances be carried out only by suitably qualified persons and as such we are unable to supply you with the technical information you have requested.
The electrical appliance industry in Australasia has gone to great lengths over the last few years to try and reduce the amount of injuries and deaths caused by non-qualified persons attempting to carry out their own electrical repairs, by introducing laws making it illegal to carry out these repairs.
Fisher & Paykel are firm supporters of the message that electrical authorities are spreading. By supplying technical diagrams and service manuals to the unqualified person, Fisher & Paykel may be held responsible in the event an accident was to occur as the result of an incompetent repair. In no way are we questioning your own ability to undertake these types of repairs, however our policy must apply to all with no exceptions.
We have our own Authorised repairers who receive up-to-date information and technical bulletins regarding our specific appliances. Fisher and Paykel will be able to help with this question
I get error code 136 after rinse 1 and when machine is turned off and advanced to rinse 2 it will finish wash cycle. I took off rotor and found one magnet is cracked in middle. Could this cause the fault?
It is very difficult to make an accurate diagnosis of the specific cause without the benefit of inspecting your appliance. I love my Fisher & Paykel Intuitive top loading washing machine. Model 812. Last 2 days it has become extremely noisy when spinning, think it might be the tub bearing. Where can I find a manual for this machine parts and schematics? Thanks in advance, hope you still answer on this page.
Hi there, just a question is it noisy in spin dry mode as well or just when it has finished washing and is draining off the water as well as spinning? As the water pump might be the noisy culprit!
Hi Stricko - Thank you so much for responding to my question. We figured it was definitely the bearings. I managed to find a manual online for the washing machine, so we dismantled the machine, got new bearings and replaced then ourselves. It now runs quietly like it used to. We replaced the water pump (again ourselves) about a year ago and that is still fine. Once again, thank you for taking the time to respond to my question, much appreciated.
