Shocking customer service – Our machine was super loud- turns out we have a major known fault. We also bought a condenser dryer from this brand- also had a major known fault. Shocking customer service on both occasions . Bought 2 products- both had major faults. Didn’t meet any of the deadlines they promised to fix. Eventually got a refund on one product - as they couldn’t resolve. Living without a washing machine at the moment while I wait for them to get their act together. Every time you call the hotline you wait 30 mins to speak to someone. Shocking customer service when you do speak to someone. Seriously consider other brands that deliver a great support service and products don’t regularly have major faults. No wonder their customer service is so busy- products are not good quality

Cycle times are way longer than it say – I've had this machine for fours years now. My biggest gripe is the times aren't even close to being accurate. If it says a cycle will take 59 minutes, you can double that time. Doesn't matter if it's a full load or half a load. It'll take twice as long as it says it will. Also, it's quite loud when taking in water. As for cleaning. It does that… Read more
part to an acceptable level.
Overall, based on the cycle time alone, I wouldn't buy a fischer and paykel again.
Dont waste your money – In just over 4 years the Fisher & Paykel front loading washing machine bearings have gone. It sounds like a freight train is in the laundry! I live in a single person household and have done on average 1-2 washes per week (if that). My previous top loading washing machine lasted 20 years. Unfortunately, I have been told it is very time consuming… Read more
and therefore expensive to fix the bearings due to the design of the machine and it would be cheaper to buy a new one. The local electrical appliance repair person advised me, if buying another front loading machine, to buy either a Bosch, Electrolux (not a Westinghouse despite being made by the same company) or LG, in that order. He also said that Fisher & Paykel make an excellent top loading washing machine. However, they clearly have some way to go with the quality of their front loading machine. Avoid at all costs...they dont last.

Great machine – I've owned the machine for about 3 years now and have been very happy. It washes our clothes and linen very well and I love the quick wash option and delay start. Great for waking up to the load of washing already finished. It does tend to go off balance and we need to adjust the levelling legs frequently, however I think our floor in our rental property is not level Show details
service – We are using Fisher & Paykel since a long time without having any problem till date. It is so easy and durable. We are using this since more tan 4 years.
Apart from a minor problem, and I do mean minor, I find the machine does an excellent job – I am retired now, so really my washing consists of light clothing, shirts, pants and shorts. A weekly wash of bed linen and a seperate wash of a towel or two. Ive found the results to be very good.
Negative reviews
Filter does not work – This front loader doesn't actually have a working filter. When I purchased it from Harvey Norman I was told it simply didn't need a filter to regularly clean as the debris washed away. I did ask about this in store. Yes, I know it is 'Buyer Beware'. The Filter is simply a piece of plastic (Bottom corner outside machine) with no basket or net to… Read more
catch debris. I did not know this at the time of purchase. Impractical for female users to pull out a heavy machine, disconnect hoses and regularly check for blockages as recommended. I wondered why new whites never looked white after just one wash. Now I will need a repair person to clean the hose as display shows it is the filter causing current issue. I will not purchase again.
Heat element failed within 4 years – Washing machine is no longer fit for purpose, constantly displays err 75. Disappointed as washing machine didn't last the expected 5 years for a large whitegood appliance. The warranty is only 2 years. As such would need to buy a new machine. Will not buy anymore appliances from this company. Failure of the heating element seems to be a common occurrence. Show details
Electrical faults, water leaks and soap leaks – - Detergent system leaked water. - Led display lights not working,so couldn’t see option to use for washing. - Water leaking in middle. - Customer service wants to charge me to fix it. Buy anything else! Show details

Great machine overall – my machine is 2 1/2 years old. It stopped emptying, but would still spin. I checked (as per reviews), the filter box, as well as I could, down the bottom on the right. I saw nothing so called in there ,so I called someone from F&P, out to see what was wrong with the machine. My son is a builder and a nail was found right at the back of the filter,… Read more
that I had not seen.$180 later, my machine is working perfectly. I did not use a strong enough torch to see right to the back of the filter. So, CHECK, CHECK, CHECK the filter. I can`t say this enough! Save yourself $. The technician, on booking the appointment, did not suggest ,that I check the filter again. While at my house, the technician got another call from someone with the same problem. He said the call out, was for the same problem that I had, but didn`t suggest to that customer either, that he check the filter again. Apparently it is a common problem that they get calls for. Otherwise a great machine ,love the super quick cycle, but machine doesn`t tolerate larger loads on spin.
Lasted 4 years. Not good enough. Customer care is a joke – After 4 years of normal use by two people, only one short program works. A couple stopped a while back but weren't used much anyway so it wasn't a problem. After going round and round in circles with various "Customer care" people just to get the cost of a replacement part, it seems it is going to cost around $500 to repair. They did not want to… Read more
give me the price of the spare part and were trying to push me to their "Book a service" service number. Clearly that's a nice cash cow for them.
I paid $839 for it and would expect more than 4 years. Yes it's sleek, pretty and easy to use but after this frustrating experience I won't be buying Fisher and Paykel again.
Decent machine – Have had our machine for over 3 years now. We’ve never had a problem with it mechanically and it washes our clothes well. I only have 1 real issue with the machine and that is that it takes far longer to wash clothes than it should. It can sometimes be stuck in 8 minutes for over 30 minutes which is very frustrating when you plan around when it’s… Read more
meant to finish. I love the add garment feature and the quick cycles when I only have a few things to wash. Great size and quality for the price we paid.
Leaking water ever since we bought it!!! – Leaking water ever since we bought it. Made a video today as I couldn't figure out the location of the leakage. It's leaking from below the detergent tray. I just hope they will fix it, otherwise it's going to the tip. Show details

Worst Washing machine ever. DO NOT BUY – I bought this washing machine 3 years ago... It has been nothing but trouble. The day that it was delivered it started and water was leaking all over my laundry. Washing machine was replaced with another new one. Continually leaks water on wash cycles. Had technician out approximently 6 times to fix this and was told it was my animal hair caught… Read more
in the seal on the door. Also that i used to much detergent that was why the machine leaks. Six months after warranty expired i was up for a new drain pump. I have owned front loaders since they first came out over 15 years ago and i have never came across a machine like this one. I would stay clear of this brand and there washing machines.
Stinky mess due to very poor aftercare – Bought this machine 11 months ago. Yesterday it stopped working mid cycle with the door locked and wet washing inside. After manually draining approximately 7 litres of water and checking/clearing the filter, as recommended in the manual, I realised I needed a service person. The earliest appointment they could give me was in 18 days time. Can… Read more
you imagine what that machine will smell like in 18 days time and I'm sure I'll have to throw out the clothes stuck inside.
7 years and water pump dies and rust – Regular household use. Long wash times. Overall we were very satisfied with it. However, for a water pump to stop working after 7 years, it’s not good enough. Discovered extensive rusting on the “case” of the machine also. Unsure wether it would be worth replacing water pump. Cannot find the exact model number on here as well... ours is WH7560P1 not 2 Show details
Keeps avoiding spinning cycle – It has some good features like add a garment, short wash cycles and hot water input. However, it has an annoying "out of balance" error. If it doesn't like what is in there, it keeps spinning for hours and finally stops with the error leaving you with a load of drenched stuff. After a few years of use, its panel lights have also started to burn.
Good quality and cleans like a dream – I have two kids and there is a loads of washing. I use it almost daily. Can’t complain about its performance. The must have product for your daily use. Very satisfying Show details
Does a good job! – I separate the whites, greys and dark colour clothes. Easy to use features and controls. The machine takes in a big load and is not noisy at all throughout the wash. Delicates wash well. Pretty happy with cycle times and the quality of the wash. Show details
Don’t buy – Used to be a good washing machine, a bit noisy but ok. Purchased 5 years ago at Good Guys and took out extended warranty. Extended warranty means nothing if it starts failing after 5 years. Keep getting an error message and it won’t finish a cycle. Spoke to customer service about it, they were absolutely useless as well. Said it’s a long weekend,… Read more
not much I can do about it now. Technician only works Monday to Friday. Like what sort of customer service is that?! What a joke. Fisher and Paykel will not accept any responsibility for a product that fails after 5 years. Will definitely not buy Fisher and Paykel again, I’m done
Do not buy this machine! – Terrible. Spin does not work much of the time, have had to take soaking wet, heavy clothing to neighbour's machine to complete spin cycle numerous times. Worst machine I have ever had. Show details
Perfect machine – Just perfect for washing all clothes and beautiful fresh clean. Last machine lasted over 25 years. So liable and parts are easy to order. I will highly recommend this to you.

Perfect – Just perfect. A few options for settings. And cleans very well. Will buy this iteam again in the future. Never had any problems with my washer at all. Easy to use and wash perfect Show details
My 1st Front Loader – Love love love, why didnt I buy a front loader earlier??? I am a domestic cleaner so wash 2 loads of rags a week plus my normal washes. The 30 min quick wash is fantastic for the rags, with less water used they still come out cleaner than a top loader full of water!!! Show details
Appalling Customer Service – The door lock went on the front loader-called F & P customer service on April 3rd-after 4 cancelled bookings to have the machine repaired-cancelled each time by F&P-and a new booking chosen by them each time without any phone call to me to see if that would suit-and having spent a total of 2 hours on hold to their customer service....I finally had… Read more
the machine fixed over 5 weeks later-took the tech less than 5 minutes to fix....never ever will I buy an expensive piece of rubbish like this again !!! I also have a F & P dryer I bought 5 years ago that has now been repaired 4 times-every year the bearings go in it...am moving house soon and both will go to the tip !!!!
Great machine! – This washer replaced my old F & P front load of some 15yrs. I'm particularly pleased with the quietness of operation of the machine(hardly any vibration) and love being able to add clothes easily after the wash has started. This model uses our hot water instead of heating the cold in the machine - I thought this would save a little on power. … Read more
Our clothes aren't really that dirty so the washing process is relatively easy. We washed our bathroom mats on the short cycle(bulky items) & were really pleased with the result. We felt our towels were still too wet after washing so put them back in for a a further 12 minutes (as the machine said) and it was then they felt dry enough for the dryer. The cycle times seem ok but it's great to be able to change them - the machine tells you when it's a no no! Worth mentioning also is that I believe I need less washing powder now. It sure is simple to operate & does a great job.
Does the job – Very reliable washer. Simple to use not too fancy. Not too loud and I love it that it beeps at the end of the cycle to let you know the load is complete and automatically switches off. Show details
Avoid - a poor man pays twice! – There is a saying in life; a poor man pays twice.. This unit came with just 2 years of warranty and a very expensive out of warranty support experience. Whilst it washes clothes and is easy to use as expected, do yourself a favour and purchase a different brand with atleast 5 years warranty. Or like me you will be posting a 1* review in your 3rd… Read more
year of ownership (warranty is only 2 years), trying to save people from having to buy a new appliance after it has failed.
In year 3, my Fisher & Paykel started triggering A 'Clr Fltr' error. I then booked a technician from Fisher and Paykel directly (starts at $130). A short week later, the technician attended, did some minimal inspecting and then requested $300-$400 to replace the pump as he believed it "was gone".
Think about that for a second...
You're trying to save money by purchasing this cheaper unit. Then a few years down the track it stuffs up requiring you to either, A. Fix it for $400-$500+ (inc callout fee) with no guarantee on the work and no extended warranty on the unit B. Replace the unit with a new one
Now let's be real. Who has $500+ lying around and would gladly want to spend that on fixing their washing machine/dryer? No one...
So do yourself a favour. Don't be the poor person who pays twice
Amazing product !! Will buy again n again – Product is very good and I hv used this brand before it always lives up to its expectations. Clothes are really clean and washing every day is quick and excellent with colours !!
Faulty Drum Seal – 16 months old, second machine used for less than 20 washes. Found small section of the front door rubber seal broken off, Off peak operation, 1st floor room flooded. The amount of water would indicate several cycles of water were emptied on the floor. I have had front door seal leaks on other machines including Bosch, are all the seals made… Read more
in ????? One of my criteria for purchasing this machine was no flooding! Purchased Appliancesonline Invoice S102725168 $749.00
Quiet! But clothes come out the way they go in DIRTY! – The machine in lovely and quiet and has multiple settings and convenient add item options. BUT I cannot get it to clean my clothes adequately they come out dirty and any little stain will not wash out like my previous washing machine. No matter what setting or washing powder/liquid I try. Its cleaning power is extremely disappointing!!! Show details
Love it, super quiet, 3 years on, no issues – Love this washing machine. It's unbelievably quiet, you barely notice it's on (except for the spin cycle, which of course is a bit louder). 3 years strong and no issues at all (touch wood!), including 2 apartment moves. And we use it A LOT - like every second day, as we have a 3 year old daughter. We recently needed to upgrade our dryer so bought a Fisher & Paykel on the experience of this washing machine; also going really well. Show details
Met all of our requirements – Our requirements were a quiet front loader with hot and cold water inlets and good ratings for water and energy use. Having had our trusty but noisy Hoover for 23 years, we were surprised to find that most machines now only have a cold inlet. Being environmentally conscious, and knowing nothing about washing machines with inbuilt heaters, we… Read more
looked for info about how a cold water inlet works. The main factor there was that we have both a solar hot water system and a 1.5kW photovoltaic system. With plenty of sunshine in Perth, and a household consisting of two adults, we seldom need to boost the hot water. And there was an additional incentive in that we still have a year to go on the 40 cents per unit feed-in subsidy that came with our PV system in 2010. We found very little helpful discussion online regarding the perceived value of a machine with a hot water inlet. Some people asked questions about the energy cost savings that might stem from having the two inlets but those who responded mostly advocated cold water washes or debated how far a washing machine is usually positioned from a hot water system. Despite doing a lot of research, we were none the wiser as to which would be more energy efficient. But, because we generally use the washing machine when the PV panels are not getting sunlight, we decided to stick with a hot water inlet. We also decided to run our laundry tap until the water is hot, as we do for showers, before starting the washing machine. We only need to run off about four litres, putting the water into bottles to use on pot plants. So, having decided to go for a hot water inlet, we looked at what people were saying about the front loaders that have the two inlets. Again, the online comments were either not particularly helpful or not relevant to our needs. There was enough there, however, to provide guidance. The Best rated Front Loader in Product Review’s “Washing Machine Buying Guide” was the Fisher & Paykel 7.5kg Quicksmart WH7560J3, but it has only a cold water inlet. The company’s WH7560P2 7.5kg WashSmart is similar but has a hot water inlet. The difference in Product Review star rating was barely noticeable. The advertised prices were higher than those cited in the reviews published at the start of 2019 but lower than a more recent one. The machine has lived up to all of our expectations: very quiet, easy to use, easy on fabrics, and no residue from suds. Plus, buying it from Appliances Online meant that it was delivered and installed free of charge, with the old machine taken away as part of the deal. And lastly, when it came to registering the warranty, there is a convenient plate on the front of the machine with all the necessary details. The last page of manual tells you that, but we only saw it after we’d moved the machine away from the wall to look at the plate on the back!
Reasonable performance – We wash a range of clothes from delicates to heavily soiled, using most wash cycles up to 40 degrees in temperature. Often with pre-wash setting. Machine functions are varied, flexible and easy to program. Cycle times are flexible but we generally find we have to wash on longer cycles to get clothes adequately clean. However, this may be the… Read more
detergent not the machine. The biggest drawback is the drain and spin cycle which usually initiates with 8 minutes left on the clock. It can sit at this 8 minute point for many minutes (can be 5 minutes or more). before it proceeds to spin. Presumably checking if the load is balanced before spinning because if the load is heavy and unbalanced it takes quite some time to work this out and tell us. Therefore, the 8 minutes remaining can often stretch to 10 or 15 minutes.
perfect – Like everything about this front loader WH7560P2 It is so quiet, washes well, and so easy to use, I like that it uses less water than most and great results for stains.
