RUBBISH – I can run faster than what the agitator turns. The machine stops so need to keep moving the washing inside around before it will work again. By the time the washing has finished the clothes are so (tangled) that it takes so much effort and patience to try an un tie a knotted mess. Show details

I am not explaining u do the explaining why your washing machine lasts not much longer than a couple of years – Absolute rubbish. Returned the first one that was faulty now this one the spinner intermittently works and it sits on 8 minutes for 15 minutes complete garbage. Certainly don’t make them like they used to my old fisher and Paykel lasted 25 years this one lucky to get a couple of years out of it Total scam Show details

Wouldn't Finish Cycle – 50min Cycle Took 2 Hours. Left Soap Suds. One cycle wouldn't finish so I stopped it and started it again on a new cycle so it took @ 4 hours to wash my clothes. Fischer and Paykel is Chinese rubbish now. Thankfully Harvey Norman are exchanging it for a different brand. Show details

Water, energy and time efficient, lots of functions and super quiet – I recently bought this machine to replace a 6.5kg Simpson top loader that malfunctioned and caused a flood in my house. The situation was painful (having water damaged floors, dealing with home insurance inspectors, negotiating with extended warranty company staff, delivery delays...), but this machine has been one amazing silver lining! The 8kg… Read more

frontload WashSmart by F&P is fantastic. I've been using it 2-3 times a week to wash the usual culprits - clothing (office clothes, delicates, synthetics & sportswear, denim & cottons), sheets, towels etc. It's gentle on my clothes and has a huge variety of functions that can be adjusted based on each unique load of clothing being washed. The cycle times range from around 2hrs for a bulky/heavily soiled load, to a 15-30min rapid wash. The everyday cycle is great at about one hour. The machine is really quiet and really efficient - in each wash it uses less water and energy to wash a larger load of clothes than my old machine. This machine has also been steadily removing 3.5 years worth of lint from my clothes, sheets and towels that the old machine seemed to generate out of nowhere with every single wash (the old machine's lint filter was useless despite my cleaning it weekly...). The only down-side to this machine is that it JUST fits in my European laundry, once the hoses and depth of the door are taken into account. So far I'm really happy with this front load washing machine from F&P and would highly recommend it.

Spin cycle never resolves, F&P don't care – I am so annoyed with this machine. It actually cleans really well, and has great cycle options. However, it has a major flaw. The spin cycle gets stuck at various intervals, but particularly on 8 minutes. It will not complete, or get to sufficient speed to drain the load. It can stay at 8 minutes for 20 minutes or more. My whole cycle can take 45… Read more

minutes or longer than the estimated time. Many times my 1hr10m cycle took 3 hours. My P1 model did it, so (after a long, tiring dispute) I got it replaced, and my P2 model is doing exactly the same thing!

I was so disappointed with F&P service. The first time I complained they told me that if it didn't perform the fault when they came to visit, I'd be charged the full service fee (despite that I had photos and diary of cycle times). Then they told me that if it took longer than the displayed time, that is was an 'acceptable variance'. Yeah! After a full week of work, putting the washing on at 7am to hang it out and go out for the day, to wait until 10am. Not acceptable! When the technician came he told me my loads were either too heavy, or too light. Eventually he admitted and could see the problem, but made me feel very mistrusted in the process. Today, I have a generous half load, quite 'normal' and I'm sitting here waiting for my machine.

Here's the SNEAKY part: the technician told me he would write a report saying the fault could not be repaired and send it to product care (as it was out of warranty). Weeks went by and I called product care, and they had not received the report. I called F&P who said, 'there's no report here and we'll have to send another technician to confirm the fault again, as too much time has lapsed, and you may have to pay for that visit'. I called product care again, and they offered to call F&P. And MAGICALLY, they found the report instantly and sent it through. I have no respect for those kind of tactics, and did not think F&P were that kind of company.

Now I have the same problem with my new machcine, and get to waste all my time and energy dealing with F&P again!

I love it! – I purchased this washing machine in October 2017 after much research. I had intended to buy it a year before, but found that a lot of people were complaining of leaks. I thought I would wait until that problem had been sorted out by the manufacturer, which I am sure has been done because my machine is wonderful and so far, has no leaks. It… Read more

washes and rinses really well, is extremely quiet, even when spinning and very easy to use. It has many washing cycles and you can also adjust water temperature and spin speed. It even has an Add a Garment feature, but I haven't needed to use this yet. I tend to use the Everyday cycle the most, but adjust the water temperature down to 30C instead of their 40C. It does take 58 minutes, but is shorter than some of the other cycles. The machine connects to hot and cold water. The buttons are soft touch and easy to use. It even gives me a signal when the wash is finished. It is quite gentle on the clothes and after hanging them on the line, I don't need to iron them. I did want to buy the 8.5 kg model, but Harvey Norman only stocked the 8kg model, so went with this. So far this seems to be adequate for my needs. There was a long delay in getting it because Harvey Norman put the wrong number in their order and didn't follow up when the machine didn't come. It was worth waiting for though.

Best washing machine I've ever owned! SO quiet – This is the best washer I've ever had. I've lived in a lot of share houses so had a LOT of washing machines from Samsung to Bosch to cheaper models. My previous Samsung washer broke and I got a technician out to fix it and he recommended this Fisher and Paykel washing machine (he was not affiliated with any device). I bought a second hand one… Read more

from marketplace and OMG it's crazy how good it is. I wash on various cycles from quick wash to 2 hour long cotton cycles, I have washed duvets and delicates, even trainers and everything has come out perfectly.

My washing machine is in a cupboard right next to my lounge and this is SO quiet. Sometimes I have to open the cupboard to check it's actually on because I think it's too quiet I must have forgotten to press start.

Amazing!

Washes good but get something else! – I loved all the features of this machine. Good wash times and the clothes come out clean. But..... The first machine I got was atrociously loud within a week of receiving it so I got it replaced with a new one and this one makes a loud noise while trying to heat up the water and doesn’t heat it up. 2 lemons!! Maybe I’ll get lucky the third time around! Show details

Good product - but trying to contact someone from F&P is terrible – Purchased the F&P front-loader washing machine a few weeks back. All good but trying to register the machine for warranty is a nightmare! Their online approach is "unavailable due to planned maintenance work" This has been unavailable for 3 weeks so far. Live chat comes up and when you click on it, there is no one there? I tried to call and… Read more

the message says "we unable to answer your call due to system issues". But if you choose to hold a representative will be with you in 20 minutes!! Come on Fisher & Paykel, you must be able to do better than that?

So impressed. Clothes have never been cleaner – Had the front loader for 12 months now and couldn't be happier. First time I have owned a front loader and I am so impressed by the cleanliness of the wash. First time I used it I was amazed at how much cleaner the clothes were after being washed in this machine. I recommended it to my sister who is also a first time user of a front loader and she is really happy with the results as well. Two very happy consumers. Highly recommmended. Show details

Great washing machine with one not-so obvious problem – This is a great washing machine for washing sheets and clothes. It offers a range of washing cycles and temperatures for a range of needs. There is, however, one problem with the machine which I didn't uncover until after use: the washing machine drum is harsh and abrasive on towels. I have Sheridan towels and the ribbed drum tears at the towels… Read more

added bonus. It has actually made me love doing the washing again.

The machine is quiet, the clothes come out very dry & makes the drying process a lot quicker than other machines I have had in the past.

The price of the machine is excellent, not to expensive, definitely getting value for money. I would recommend this washing machine for all the reasons above.

Great Washer - Just love it – No doubt, this is a great machine. For several years past I have owned top loaders, but I am short in stature and find difficulty in reaching the bottom of the tubs. wash smart. I just loved the high speed spin drying - dried my clothes a treat and the auto water levels - saves a lot of guess work. A huge bonus is the fact that the clothes do not entangle. The dial pictures illuminate and I think it would be a good idea if the wording illuminated, better for sight impaired people. Not a game changer though, just have to wear specs. My laundry now looks uncluttered with the lovely design of this machine. Just love it and wish I could now afford the dryer as a companion.

Always clean – Have never owned a front loader Had no idea it saves you so much water and clothes come out super clean even with the quick cycle (30min) It’s easy to operate and the machine tells you when it needs a drum clean. When this happens all you need to do is turn the dial to drum clean and the machine will do the rest! Show details

Exactly what we need – We had to replace our old (F&P) top loader within a day, so my starting point was to target a reasonably priced machine based on recommended models (by Choice, November 2018).
