Ripped off by a freelancer who left me with a dud product that I cannot use. It is full of errors and I can ‘t access the link. The freelancer is ghosting me, as is fiverr! Worst customer service ever. I have raised this issue several times now and fiverr support team have not got back to me after the initial ‘we’ll get back to you’ email. Show details
I have been on Fiverr off and on for multiple years. Fiverr presents itself as a curated marketplace of professional freelancers. What it actually offers is an unvetted directory with a refund policy dressed up as accountability. I hired a seller through Fiverr for a specialised service. I have hired many over the last few years. What I… Read more
received was work that bore no relationship to the brief provided — dismissive, careless, and demonstrably unprofessional. The kind of output that suggests the brief was ignored because they knew better.
Fiverr issued a full refund after I was abused by the seller as their sensibility was offended by the art they were paid well to look at. I disputed the transaction and they opened a ticket for the abuse. I want to be precise about what that means: their own process determined that the service delivered was indefensible. The refund wasn't a gesture of goodwill, it was an admission. And yet Fiverr continues to host, promote, and take commission from sellers like this one, because the platform's incentive structure rewards volume, not quality.
The refund did not return the time lost. It did not undo the disruption to a project timeline. It did not account for the trust extended in good faith to a platform that positions itself as reliable. Money is the least of what was taken.
Fiverr's model is straightforward, charge both parties, resolve complaints without transparency, and call it a marketplace. Buyers assume some vetting has occurred. But, it hasn't. The platform is saturated with bot accounts, fabricated credentials, an ecosystem optimised for the appearance of professionalism rather than the substance of it. When you can find an actual human, it is a lottery with the quality you will receive. There is significantly more AI on the site that actual people.
You are entirely on your own, and when it goes wrong, you'll receive your money back and be expected to consider the matter closed. It isn't closed. The platform enabled it.
If you value your safety, money and creative content avoid this platform.
Hired a graphic designer to do my page layout and cover layout for my first book. Said he or she was in Australia and had a list of services he or she was experienced in, including creating files for IngramSpark. Also had reviews. The first draft that came back I was actually shocked and disappointed at how bad it looked. A highschooler could… Read more
have done better. After several drafts with me pointing out all their errors, I gave up and took a loss of $480 and put it down to live and learn. They assured me that they were in Australia and I would be charged in AUD. Fiverr themselves also confirmed I would be charged in AUD. Bottom line, graphic designer was not who they said they were, has never produced files that IngramSpark would have accepted, was not in Australia and I was charged in USD which pretty much doubled my costs. Fiverr put the blame back on me that I should have investigated the seller further myself and then said I would always be charged in USD. So I found a fantastic designer in Tasmania, not on Fiverr, and they straight away found all the faults , corrected them, presented me with files ready for IngramSpark and I am super happy. I will never use Fiverr again. Image below shows fiverr on the left, after supplying them image isolated, they kept stretching it and presenting with black background. The font was not childrens book friendly. final files were delivered in Word. Should have been pdf's. Some lines had only one word or the word was split in 2. So many other things, the list goes on. Image on right was my graphic designer from Tasmania. Child friendly font and perfect presentation. (story line has been hidden myself for this review)

False labelling and removal of Technical SEO Gig as a Prohibited Service – Falsely labelled my first Gig in Technical SEO as a Prohibited Service that, combined with profile, I put days into setting up to meet platform requirements, including completing all of the Gig information, creating the cover image, documentation of previous SEO work examples, sitting the 40-minute SEO test and verifying identity with photo and… Read more
ID: "We had to remove your Gig as the service you are offering is prohibited by our Community Standards." No further details. The Community Standards - Prohibited Services have no relevance to the service offered. Removed Gigs cannot be accessed or edited for resubmission. Customer Ticket submitted, likely hours to days waiting for response, and based on similar numerous incidents experienced by other freelancers, the response is not expected to resolve the issue. As there's nothing in the Gig that could reasonably have triggered the false labelling and no detail was provided by Fiverr, "creating a new Gig" would simply be pot luck and a probable waste of time. Not sure I'd want to hire from or work with a platform that so quickly, absolutely, irrevocably, and most importantly, incorrectly, assesses, decides and acts against its users. Thanks anyway.
Dodgy developers, no support – I wanted to get a developer to do a new installation of Prestashop and install that and a new theme I purchased on my website. The developer put it on his development server - lots of mistakes, things he didnt get right, which I finally got resolved. I had misgivings but I persisted because I wanted to get it done straight away - mistake. Then I… Read more
did all this configurations of my demo site on his server but whenever I tried to reach him, he wouldn't respond. I would send the same message over and over again and he wouldn't get back to me.
Then I discovered he didn't do the theme correctly and there were a lot of issues and again he wouldn't respond. Then he deleted the instance of my demo on his test server. So I had nothing. I paid over $200 for 5 hours of work from him and he did not deliver anything.
I made a complaint to Fiverr who refuse to refund my money.
Basically they are keeping the money and I get nothing. I paid them to waste my time.
Then I made a complaint through PayPal, which I used to pay for the services but then I got an email from Fiverr (see attached) which they told me that filing a dispute is against their terms of service. Then they 'strongly recommended' I close the dispute and go through their customer support. I already did that, without a good resolution so I am going to keep the dispute open and get the money back that way.
If you can't create a dispute through PayPal or your credit card provider or anyone else who you used to pay for a service, it means Fiverr and their developers can keep your money and you can't do anything about it.
My advice? Avoid Fiverr. Don't use Fiverr. They don't behave ethically.

Fiverr is good value – Fiverr offers a fantastic avenue to source a wide variety of skills at a very reasonable price. And as the freelancers all value their rating, they are conscientious in doing the right thing. That said, Fiverr's systems and processes are confusing. I placed an order which was completed and I received a link to approve payment. There was also an… Read more
option to buy additional services. I selected additional services and then approved payment for the initial work. Fiverr then released all funds to the freelancer, including for the additional services which had not been done yet. Fortunately the freelancer still did the work.
Got a logo made up for my company – I was really happy with the service i got using Fiverr. It was quick and fairly affordable and the person was quite easy to work with to get a logo for our new business. We asked him few changes and the results were awesome. Fiverr experience probably depends a lot on which individual you are using for your service. Show details
Fiverr is an excellent service! – Fiverr is an excellent service that enables users to connect with digital freelancers around the world to complete projects within short timeframes. I am constantly impressed with the standard of work that has been delivered on this platform. The one criticism is that Fiverr has the audacity to take a 30% commission on a $7AUD tip to a supplier. I find that absurd. This is certainly an area for improvement on the platform. Show details

Joined up to Fiverr and began speaking with potential person i wanted to hire. know they arent taking scammers seriously and for some odd reason banning the reporters. All good Fiverr i dont want to use your app again anyway, YIKES!
I’ve used Fiverr in the past (5+ years ago) and it went well, but my latest experience has shown the underbelly and true side of Fiverr. While most people on there are good and will do the gig as described and in budget there’s a few that are there to scam you. This is where the platform gets their rating. If you try and ask for a refund they will… Read more
push and push and push with excuses to why they can’t do it. If you try and dispute the payment for a service not received (via paypal etc) they will tell you it’s against their terms of service. Do not use Fiverr if you want to have protection against scams
Scam company. I ordered for a SEO from a fraud freelancer who scamed me big time. I then went to fiverr for a refund but they wasted my 10 days asking for all the evidence then said no help. Literally no help. Stay away from this site. Show details

A very disappointing first experience, and the last. I sent a linguistics document to a person, supposedly based in America, claiming to be conversant in four languages, including the one which was the object of my study. I explained what my document was about in my initial communication. The response I got was “but it’s full of foreign words”.… Read more
Some of the messages I received were in incomprehensible English. This person then wanted to proof my copy, something I had already done, but because of the appalling English and errant spellings I didn’t allow this. After receiving the formal quote I replied that I had decided not to continue and thanked this person for their time. The response was “Ok, you’re welcome”. Half an hour later I received another message, “But I’ve already started working on it”. At this point, I knew I had made the right decision.
Sorry I can't give a -10 out of 5. This is such a terrible service offering. My first experience was ok, however the freelancer was not as experienced as advertised and the work was delayed. over due. I raised a number of issues about the quality, which in the first phase he tried to resolve. Two months later he wanted to cancel, but strangely did not cancel the order. After another 3 months, he made submissions which did not fall in with the requirements and unbeknown to me the order was confirmed. FIVVER does not have a review policy in place that satisfies Australian Standards. I am very disappointed with both the quality and communication process. Their dispute process is one sided.
Don't use. Used and auto generated logo design that promised unlimited revisions. Not true. Complaints interface is terrible; it's designed to funnel you out, avoiding all communication and accountability and genuine responses and help to your query.. Don't recommend. Show details

Fiverr could enhance its service by implementing a more robust feedback system, enabling users to report concerns about other members before or after a gig, rather than only accepting complaints post-transaction. Additionally, it would be helpful if Fiverr clearly indicated which countries it supports prior to users investing time in drafting… Read more
project requirements.
There is also a need for improved vetting of platform participants to ensure a higher standard of professionalism and trustworthiness. Given that many interactions occur remotely, with users who have never met in person and involve sensitive financial transactions such as credit card payments, it would be valuable to know what protections Fiverr offers to safeguard both service providers and clients. Transparency around these security measures would greatly benefit all users.
Fiverr Is a Scam – 9 Months, No Refund, and Zero Accountability Fiverr has been an absolute nightmare. emails, provided clear screenshots and evidence, and every time, a different Fiverr support agent replies with the exact same copy-paste message, offering no real solution. It’s insulting and frankly, completely unacceptable.
Let me be clear: Fiverr does NOT protect buyers. If something goes wrong, you’re left dealing with a faceless wall of unhelpful support and automated replies. They’ve had 9 months to resolve this, and they’ve done nothing.
They are quick to take your money but disappear when it comes to support. This is theft, plain and simple. If you value your money, your time, and your sanity—stay far away from Fiverr.
Do yourself a favour—avoid Fiverr if you value your time, money, and sanity.
Another scam. You pay $35 to get a consultation with someone. The zoom meeting conveniently does not work so you find yourself txting with someone or AI. You discuss the design and you don’t get a professional view except “what a lovely idea” or “how amazing” and then that someone or something drops out. What a rip off. Be warned !!!! Show details

Fiverr Is a Scam Factory – Stay Away (#12094545) – never thought I’d have to write this, but after my experience with Fiverr, I feel it’s necessary to warn others. Do not trust this platform. After two years of working with him, this so-called “Fiverr Preferred Seller” wiped my entire store clean—all my… Read more
products gone. Years of hard work down the drain because of one malicious seller.
When I reached out to Fiverr support (Case #12094545), I expected some kind of accountability or at least action against this seller. What I got was nothing but copy-paste responses from various agents, each less helpful than the last. Not a single person took responsibility or offered a real solution. They don’t care about their users, only about keeping their scam artists in business. The seller who sabotaged my store is still active, and Fiverr refuses to suspend their account despite clear evidence of wrongdoing.
Most of these sellers are based in places like Pakistan, where scams are rampant. Fiverr seems completely fine with hosting them and making sure they stay in business, while victims like me are left without any protection. I even asked if they could investigate and suspend the seller—they won’t. It’s clear that Fiverr doesn’t care about protecting its customers.
I run a digital marketing agency that works with hundreds of clients every year, and until this experience, I used to recommend Fiverr to them for certain tasks. Not anymore. I can’t, in good conscience, send anyone to a platform that enables cybercriminals and provides no real customer support.
To make matters worse, I’ll be documenting this entire ordeal on my YouTube channel, which has millions of followers, and publishing an article on my blog to warn others. Fiverr is a platform built to protect its sellers, no matter how malicious, while leaving honest customers to fend for themselves. If you’re considering using Fiverr, think again.
Avoid Fiverr at all costs. They are not trustworthy, and you’re risking your business by using their services.
Never again – My first and only experience with Fiverr was not good. There were lots of hidden charges. The initial cost I thought I committed to was not the actual charges on my credit card. When I reach out for help it was not easy to open a ticket. Then Customer service was not helpful. I felt scammed and powerless. Show details
