I wish to retract my review on Fixed Today Plumbing made on 20/9/25 regarding the service charge to fix my leaking toilet cistern. I now realise that the fee charged was for a Saturday call out fee and the was in line for standard fee charges. The… Read more
plumbers who attended were polite and were helpful in pointing out that the mixer in the main bathroom was old and needed to be replaced. I did get back to Fixed Today to request a the Pensioner Discount they offer on their website, and they kindly credited this back to me.
Follow-up · The mixer replacement is working, but so was the one that they replaced!! I will not use Fixed Today Plumbing again. I was billed $1,191.49 for a twenty minute visit, but after a Pensioner discount the charge was reduced to $899.58. My regular plumber was not available at the time, and I regret not waiting for him to attend as he charges $200 per hour..

Daniel was prompt, polite and professional. The leak was fixed efficiently, everything was left tidy and he also took the time to inspect the other pipes for potential issues. I'd be happy to use this service again.
Our kitchen tap finally broke after 30 years. Can’t live without the kitchen tap. Called the plumber- Fixed Today. Very professional group and work done right away. They even fixed/replaced another leaking valve at a very good price. I can honestly recommend this company. 10 out of 10. Excellent job.
Daniel attended my property and was extremely helpful. He worked within my budget and fixed the issue efficiently. I highly recommend Daniel for his friendly, professional, and helpful service. Thank you platinum Plumbing

I hired Fixed Today to repair a burst hose in the washing machine. The guy, I'll call A, put in a new hose, installed a water surge protector ...n charged me a whopping $1215 All this for less than 2 hours work, and for a 9 year old machine. The job was done yesterday, on 14th July 2026. Extortionate, much?
This review is for Fixed Today Plumbing. They appear to operate a number of different plumbing websites that give the impression of being local plumbing businesses in specific areas. From what I could see, these websites use the same contact number. To be clear, I am not questioning whether they are licensed plumbers. My review is about my… Read more
experience with their service, pricing, and the way the job was handled.
My experience was as follows.
I had a blocked sewer line that had backed up. It’s a stressful situation to be in, especially on a Sunday afternoon. I called them but decided to wait until Monday to avoid the weekend surcharge of $350 + GST.
One thing worth mentioning is that they consistently quote prices excluding GST. As a homeowner, I’m used to seeing prices inclusive of GST, so I found this a little misleading.
On Monday, two plumbers arrived in their new trucks. They straight away asked me to sign a quote for $781.75 + GST to unblock the sewer. Apparently, this was already a discounted price they told me. I thought it seemed expensive compared to what neighbours had paid for similar work with other plumbers, but I was prepared to proceed if they could solve the problem.
Access to the sewer was very straightforward. There were multiple inspection points, most of the pipework was newer PVC, and the nearest access point was less than 10 metres from where they parked.
After only 20–25 minutes, they knocked on the door looking concerned and informed me that the pipe had collapsed. They claimed there was no way through and that excavation would be required. They said it would take two men, two full days, and that they would prepare a quote.
The second plumber then presented me with a quote for $8,500 (I assume plus GST) to excavate and replace the supposedly collapsed pipe.
I told them that seemed extremely expensive. I can do basic maths, and for two people digging for two days the figure didn’t make sense to me. I asked what their hourly rate was and immediately received the response:
“Mate, plumbers don’t do hourly rates anymore.”
At that point alarm bells started ringing. I know several independent plumbers and plumbing companies in the area who have worked on my bathrooms over the years, and they all have based their work or quotes around hourly rates.
They then called their boss and handed me the phone. During that conversation, the price suddenly dropped from $8,500 to $7,500 and then to $6,500. At the same time, there was a lot of pressure to approve the work immediately so they could get started straight away.
By this stage my gut feeling was worse than the blocked sewer itself.
I politely thanked them for their time, paid the invoice of $859.92 including GST for the attempted unblocking, and asked them to clean up and leave.
I then took the rest of the day off from my work and started investigating the issue myself.
After around 4 to 4.5 hours of digging in the garden, I located the section of pipe they claimed had collapsed. It was an older clay sewer pipe and, to my surprise, it wasn’t damaged at all. No cracks, nothing.
What I actually found was an old inspection opening with a loose cap. Over time, roots from a nearby tree (now dead) had grown through the opening. Those roots had then caught years’ worth of material flowing through the sewer and eventually caused the blockage.
As soon as I opened the access point and removed the roots, the water immediately started flowing normally again.
I cleaned everything up, researched how to prevent the problem from returning, and fixed it myself for less than $50 in materials from Bunnings, including the cost of a spade.
What bothered me most afterwards was not the money I spent, but thinking about people who may be less able to question these recommendations.
When I found the actual cause of the blockage and realised there was no collapsed pipe, my heart sank. I couldn’t help but think about pensioners, single parents, people with disabilities, or anyone facing a stressful plumbing emergency who may not have the confidence, knowledge, physical ability, or opportunity to seek a second opinion.
A backed-up sewer is an incredibly stressful situation. When you’re worried about your home, your family, and the potential cost of repairs, it’s easy to feel pressured into making quick decisions. For that reason alone, I would strongly encourage anyone receiving a quote for major excavation or costly repairs to obtain a second opinion before proceeding.
I would stay away from this company.
Two days ago my house had a blocked drain. They sent two guys for the job. They firstly charged 300$ for a camera inspection which took 5 minutes. Then they quoted over 500$ for a jet blasting job and I rejected. They reduced the price to over 400$ and cannot guarantee a fix saying further job required if the pipe is broken by the jet. I had no… Read more
choice but gave it a try. Fortunately they didn’t blast a whole in the pipe. The whole job took about 30-40 minutes. One of the guys did almost nothing. In the end I paid over 700$ for a simple job. I searched the web and found the reasonable price is 200$-400$ which makes sense. I wasted half the money on the guy who were mainly watching. I asked the guy to send me videos and photos of the pipe inspection and he said yes, but I have never received it.

Called fixed today out of fridge magnet that was left at the mailbox, they came next day on time however he tried to fix the blocked drainage but was left incomplete stating that needs more works which would cost 9 to 10 thousands and they made to sign paper beforehand to attempt the job without being themselves sure to solve the problem,I was… Read more
like not sure should i trust or not. They took high charge to the not complete job and left us in shock to fix the rest of the blocked drainage..We find another plumber who came and fixed the drainage with less time and less amount of money. However we had to pay for two plumbers for the job which would be done by one plumber with less cost, not fair and reliable at all. didnt seem to be competent in their ability and i would be happy to pay for their time and work not that much money without completing the job, they should have dropped the initial cost they made me sign to pay.
Service was exceptional. Quick response and very friendly. Should I need a plumbing service again, I will definately be contacting Fixed Today Plumbing. Thanks heaps

They come to our place coz our drainage is not working properly and every time we use our shower, toilet or kitchen sink it overflows our drainage. they come to us and gave us the assurance that they will get rid of the blockage for AU600.00 price is too high but we just agreed hoping they will resolve the problem. while using the electric hose to… Read more
unblock and water keep overflowing , he end up using the camera and after what he said 27 meters he found out that there are roots penetrated in the pipe that the thing causing the blockage. then he just told me that it is part of the strata and you need to contact them to dig the pipe. I even asked him to get rid of the roots coz that's the one giving the problem. He just said that is not our problem now. lesson learned, When dealing to all tradesman or contractors make sure you know the coverage of their work. AU 600 bucks is not small money when problem didn't solve at all. yes, temporarily we can use it but sooner it will build up again coz the roots still there. You should know our STRATA the money that we use every time there is something to fix is our own money which they call it our SINGKING FUND. GOOD LUCK to all tradesman or contractors who's ripping people or customers.
Preys on older people, $17000 for a $5000 Job. Scaring into this “urgent issue” meant nearly $34000 was to be spent to “finish the job”. Got a second opinion from another plumber (a family’s contact) who stuck a camera down the pipe discovering the job…if actually needing to be done… wasn’t even done correctly. They might get it ‘fixed today’ but… Read more
it’s a total rip off, maybe consider second opinions before you get it ‘fixed today’…. Might be cheaper and done properly!
Replacement of broken toilet unit carried out efficiently and with care. Bathroom etc left spotless, very happy with the genuinely pleasant manner n which work was carried out.
Get a price before the plumber is on site – People looking for a plumber to unblock a drain need to be aware of this company. Received mailed promotion advertising a $99 blocked drain deal. Note, it is only for use of hand tools, “plunger” & for 30 minutes. When I contacted the company & asked for a cost to clear a blocked drain to use the standard high pressure water blaster, I was told… Read more
the plumber had to call out to give a cost. This means the plumber can give any cost they like; you will be there with the decision to either accept the maybe excessive cost or contact another plumber. I was in this position & except the cost of $500. 4 years later I contacted another plumbing contractor who gave an up-front cost of$149 to do the same work. Beware of a situation where you are in a position of not being able to make a valued economic decision. There are plumbing companies that will give an upfront cost.
I have spoken to Steven & he is very protective of his company, he asked me to review the star rating which I have. I have not used this company but still I say buyer beware. Big bold writing on promotions will get your eye but read the fine print. Get more than one quote, Steven said they do not charge a site visit fee if the quote is not accepted.
An excellent service – Ariole came out today and repaired my toilets and replaced my tap ware. He was prompt in arriving very professional is explaining all that needed to be done. He did an excellent job and made sure the bathrooms were clean at the end. A very polite and profession service was provided by Ariole and the work looks excellent. Would recommend him to do any further jobs in the future.
Exceeded Our Expectations – Excellent work done, All of our expectations were met!! It was affordable too which was great!
Fixed today – Great experience with fixed today, would definitely use them again great service.
Feedback – After disputing the rate for cleaning our gutters we now appreciate and provisionally accept [Name Removed] explanation that this was more a flat rate for this type of job. Thanks to [Name Removed] for sincerely apologising for the behaviour of the person who came to do the work at our home and for listening to our concerns.
Disappointed – I used Fixed Today Plumbing. Very disappointed!! I had to make an appointment, because they weren't available TODAY! unexpected $203.5 "call-out fee & inspection fee" which can be waived if I go ahead.
