Over 270000 km. Good torque. Good trailer puller. 2008 TX – 2008 Ford Territory SY TX RW Drive 4 Speed Auto Heavy on fuel but I have the 4l 6 non turbo and that is what it is for a large suv. Otherwise there is the diesel option. Had to replace all the usual, lower control arm ball joints and diff bushes. Replaced powersteering pump to eliminate noise. But thats it! 14 year old car with over 275000 on… Read more

her. Original transmission, only changed transmission fluid and filter once.

Stood the test of time. Excellent room, 7 seats.. 3rd row are only good for kids.

Love the territorys. Will be getting another one in the future before they are all too long in the tooth.

The wheels fall off (almost) – Worst car ever. If it’s not one thing it’s another. Transmission, ball joints, radiators, you name it it’s going to wrong on one of these things. Seriously if you don’t believe me check out: https://www.carsguide.com.au/ford/territory/problems/2007 etc. Steer clear of these lemons! Show details

Biggest waste of money i have ever purchased – Hubby and i purchased this car as it had seven seats and the reviews we had seen seemed good. We have had nothing but issues. Brought second hand with 165 000 on the clock now at 178 000 and we have already had to replace the engines mounts, alternator and coils. Then everything seemed fine for a week then the check engine light came on. The car… Read more

shudders constantly. Oil leaks every where. The door handles inside the car have fallen off. The latch to fold down the 3rd row broke with out any signs. The seat belts have all stopped retracting. You either need to remove the entire front end to change an indicator or stick you arm up behind the wheel guard to get to it. The car has a major clanking issue when having to suddenly break. The fuel usuage is horrendous up to 30ks to 100l running around town a full tank barely lasts a week. And now it looks like a need a new gear bow i have had this car just over a year and will NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD.

2006 Ford Territory SY AWD GHIA – I purchased a 2006 Ford Territory SY AWD GHIA and had it for about 3 years. It was a relatively good car and cheap for what it is. Fuel consumption: 14.9L/100km - average | 9.9L/100km - best | 17.2L/100km - worst. The car had a few problems including: - Minor rust around some of the doors (common fault) - Back window stopped working -… Read more

(internal mechanism broke)

- Door locks stopped working (internal mechanism broke)

- Exterior lights stopped working (fuses blew)

The car was great to drive, especially with the 6 Speed ZF transmission which I think makes the car. It had heaps of power and torque. The AWD system is good but it has absolutely no more off road capability than a falcon - mine got bogged on grass... Brakes were strong, seats were comfortable, heaps of room inside for front and rear passengers.

Overall, the car was good, reliable and cheap to service. A few frustrating issues which probably cost me $700 to fix but as I said, it's a lot of car for the money otherwise.

Like driving around in a Lazy Boy !! – Recently taken delivery of a 2007 TX AWD 6 speed. Mine are usually ongoing reviews with add-ons, but initial reaction after a few hundred km..... WOW, such a cruisy, comfortable, great handling, quiet vehicle. I traded the Focus for it, so the fuel economy is totally different league as the twin clutch auto box on the Focus is sensational at… Read more ·  4

controlling power and economy. The 6 speed in the Terry is incredibly smooth though and gets the big thing of the line well.

Seems to have stood the test of time ok, yet not quite up to the standards you'd expect from a Japanese or Korean vehicle, yet perhaps soaks up the bumps without any harshness, bit like a best of both worlds of European and American .... if that's possible.

Great visibility and backing is easy.

Interior will come up with a detail but has signs of the usual Aussie Ford things coming apart in one or two places.

There are more cubby holes and storage compartments than a pirate ship ... very well thought out truck.

Fuel economy around town is as to be expected but highway cruising, was seeing 7.8 to 9 L/100km, so that bodes well for long distance camping which is why I bought it. That is the same sort of economy as our Kia Cerato loaded up with empty roof racks at 110km/h ....... not bad at all.

Did I say smooth ? oh yeah ............ so smooth and parts/service readily available and pretty cheap, same as my Focus experience, hence why not being a fanboy but happy to stay with Ford.

There will be more updates, lets see how we go, but actual driving experience is superb

Life saver!!! – We have had a 2007 Ford territory for the last year, it has been amazing at running us around as we are big travelers. It can be a little heavy on fuel but well worth the trade. Recently we were in a horrible accident were sadly my car was ridden off without any doubt in any other car we would not have walked out of it. Safety wise I could not… Read more

recommend this car more!! Me my husband and two children walked out of the car without a scratch after flipping 6 times in mid air and hitting trees and landing in a ditch the car held out. I will only ever drive a Ford territory after this experience and could not be more thankful. If you want to complain about small superficial things that may need to be repaired fine but if you are more worried about the safety of your family but this Ford !!!!

Best Car Australia ever Made – If you want an SUV that handles like a Car, then the Territory was the pioneer. Beautiful car to drive, spacious, and well equipt. Mine is over 10 years old, and has done very well. Shopped around for a long time, and in terms of value for money, nothing comes close. Show details

Not good in th long run – I got this car second hand and at first it was a good family car but recently we have found it to be a car that needs lots of tlc. The roof lining began to sag about 3 years ago. Last month the front passenger wheel came away from the steering shaft and the lower control arm had to be replaced. Great idea but poorly executed and built – We bought this car new for the 7 seats and large size as we had 3 teenage kids. Went well for a few years then bits started needing replacing like diff bushes, front swaybar link pins, rear rose bush and tyres only lasting 20,000 kms if we were lucky. The paint on the door handles is chipping off and rust is evident around the rear door weld… Read more

seams. It rattles mercilessly as we drive down the road from both the inside seats and from the suspension despite having replaced rear shocks, front linkpins 4 times and rear blade bushes. Been told thats very common as as the factory bushes were poor quality, no kidding. Just recently serviced the transmission and was full of metal so had to replace it. Wanted a Toyota Kluger when originally bought this bucket of bolts but couldn't afford it so now regretting that. Will never buy another Ford, was my first and will be my last. Had a few Toyota 4wds of late and can't fault them, 200000kms or more on them and quiet with no rattles and mostly original bushes etc. Take a hint Ford, use quality parts in your vehicles.

Great, Spacious, Sturdy Family AWD – I use our 2007 Ford Territory SY SR to do the morning school runs and also to commute to & from work on a Monday to Friday basis and get it serviced once a month if I can and when I have the funds in doing so. SUV with car like comfort – Recently purchased a 2010 Ford Territory to replace my beloved 2003 Falcon XR6, my and my mother in laws age got the better of us and I was having trouble getting into it so needed something higher. Basically an SUV version of the XR6 it's a beautiful vehicle to drive and there is little to no difference between the two drives. Highly recommended.

Dumping ground for car yards – This is the 2nd vehicle I have purchased off Grays and both have had to have extreme amounts spent to get them roadworthy. I bidded on the car and won it for $2500 to which I thought was a… Read more

reasonable price. On picking the car up the staff were really helpful and got me going with the purchase without a hitch.

When I drove the car out of Graysonline in Adelaide I immediately could sense the gearbox not changing gears properly and shuddering. Further down the road every bump i hit it sounded like the suspension was going to fall out.

I drove the car straight to my mechanics who told me that I needed a changeover gearbox, ball joints, rear bushes in the differential / swaybar & oil pressure switch just to name a few. The car is now going to cost me another $2000 minimum to repair before it can see the road again.

This purchase was for my son as his car just blew the engine so my wife and I thought we would pick up another cheap car for him, we were so wrong and wont be buying cars from Grays again. Other purchases for wine ect have been good, just not cars.

Play ball joint bottom wheelhub knuckle – Another disappointment on the mentioned part, both sides front, mileage approx 120K. I think design and/or quality of part can't afford the weight. I never use the car offroad. Cost of part is approx $300/pc. I fitted it myself so expect the workshop charges if you are mechanically challenged. In comparison witb other SUV's this TS showed continue issues on the front steering mechanisms. Be warned.  Show details

Great family car – Handles like a much smaller car. Thirsty on fuel. I love the auto headlight feature as I'm prone to leaving lights on. Also the internal lights coming in when I unlock the car. For a non luxury car or model, there are a lot of little details that all add up to a luxury feel. Lots of room up front and comfortably fits three across the back.  Show details

Wheel fell off – The wheel fell off this car as I was (thankfully only doing 10km/h) turning a corner. This car is just plain unsafe....I got rid of it on the spot. Never have I see such a lemon. On top of it being dangerous to drive (they had a product recall on the wheel problem many years later) the roof lining fell down. These cars have a poor resale value for a reason.  Show details

Great sized car suited for most family needs – At first I was hesitant of purchasing a Ford Territory with people commenting about the fuel efficiency however i have been pleasantly surprised and it is definitely not as grim as others have mentioned. itself is relatively good with no significant issue however take off is lagging at times but for the size of the vehicle etc this is understandable.

I think one of the biggest highlights would be the price that one can be purchased second hand , definitely a worthy investment if it can be picked up at the right price with lower kilometres which definitely are available on the market.

Definitely a keeper or a consideration for a newer version as i anticipate its only improved over time.

Balljoints defective – Heavy on fuel. The heater tumbler switch is broken and requires the whole dash panel removed to be replaced at a cost of $850.00 and ford admit they're faulty. The original ball joints lasted only 10 thousand km. The replacement ball joints lasted only 18 thousand km.
