I am delighted with every aspect of the plantation shutters and wavefold sheer curtains installed now. It felt like a big expense so it was such a relief to have all their expert and kind guidance and perfect result. Best service, high quality products and it was the best price. Putting this here in case it helps others in the future. Also a kind neighbour invited me into her home to see how you can use modern bright & white plantation shutters to hide primrose windows frames beautifully, just in case that's an issue for you too. The end product was great but the shutters were delayed in Port Moresby and I was not kept updated. The day of my original measurements for curtains and outdoor blinds there was an issue entering my property and I was not informed which I only discovered 6 weeks later which was very frustrating. It’s been approximately two (2) months since I spent almost $16,000 and engaged this company to install Venetian blinds, privacy screens, shutters and a roller blind in the kitchen and the only words that come to mind two months on are ”diabolical disaster”. the privacy screens. Everything else, is just a major disappointment, absolutely useless and a total write off to put it bluntly.
In between Venetian blinds that don’t shut fully, thus offering minimal light filtration and next to no privacy (which apparently is normal according to this company), cords that are so flimsy they snap with even the slightest bit of pressure or pulling, making it incredibly difficult to actually open or close the blind, hold down clips that are cheap plastic and have almost all completely snapped off on every single window meaning you have the shut the windows when there is even the slightest breeze because the blinds bash against the window frame making it impossible to sleep and pelmets that don’t fully cover the window cavity because they have been cut shorter than the window frame and not installed straight - this has been one disastrous experience and a huge purchase regret - most definitely not what you would expect when you spend almost $16,000 with a company claiming to be the best!
As if that wasn’t already enough, I have a dining room roller blind that has the absolute Grand Canyon of gaps in it (which is also apparently normal) meaning that I cannot safely set foot into my dining room after dark because any unwelcome eyes or guests outside at night can see literally everything in if you have the light on (which most people do)! This gap combined with the monumental gaps in the blinds when closed has resulted in my having to nail $30 BIG W blockout curtains to the wall so that I can actually use my bedroom, living room and the dining room after dark - the very goal and only reason for installing blinds was to get rid of curtains in the first place!!! So, in essence, the Venetian blinds and roller blind are useless and a complete waste of money! Once again not what you would expect when you spend a small fortune from a company claiming to be the best!
To top it off, the shutters (which surprise, surprise also don’t shut fully and have large gaps) are a plain eyesore and simply hideous to look at and an absolute embarrassment. The monumental gap at the top renders them completely and utterly useless when it rains or hails or the wind blows because the gap creates a wind tunnel or vortex.
Long story short, this has been one renovation which rather than increasing the value of my home and making it aesthetically appealing, has positively devalued my home and has everyone who has seen the end result shaking their head in disbelief. The final straw for me was yesterday when a top selling Real Estate Agent from LJ Hooker (who recently sold another property for me and has become a good friend) visited, saw the blinds and without hesitation asked “Which dodgy company did you use to create this mess?”. I almost burst into tears. So rather than being something I can be proud of and show off to friends and colleagues, I have a renovation that has everyone shaking their head in disbelief and commenting on how appalling the end result is and has me not even wanting to stay in my own home - definitely not what I was aiming for nor what I expected!
I can honestly say, I would not recommend this company to anyone and I wish I would have done my research a bit better prior to engaging this company or listened to colleagues who warned me against using this company. Safe to say, this has been one VERY expensive lesson and a clear reminder that just because a company claim to be the best (and are also the most expensive) doesn’t mean anything at all. In fact, it should automatically raise red flags. I am now faced with at least another $10K bill to fix the absolutely disastrous mess this company created. All I can say is if you want to save yourself a mountain of grief and heartache, Frankly only Franklyn don’t!!!!

Follow-up · Yes, they came back and fixed the gate. I then went away on holidays for 2 weeks. When I can back I notices that the screws attaching the lock to the back door had come all they way through. There is no way the installer could not have noticed as I noticed immediately as I touched them as I opened the door. This is very poor workmanship. I am extremely disappointed in Franklyn and after this second incident cannot recommend Franklyn.

Follow-up · We had Franklin's back to add blinds to our sliding doors. Once again could not falter the service received. Have had no issues whatsoever with the motorised blinds so no callbacks have been required. Plenty in the Range and like anything in regards to price you get what you pay for. We were very happy with the price we paid, highly recommend getting a free no obligation quote.

primarily via email, the consultant seemed to prefer calling for immediate responses. Her use of all-caps in emails felt unprofessional, especially after repeatedly failing to answer her calls. Initially, I tried to overlook this, but when I showed the messages to my husband which he was upset as it seemed like she was extremely rude and professional. He decided to contact [Name Removed], the showroom manager at Rochedale. [Name Removed] apologised on her behalf but my husband did not accept her apology and requested a formal apology email from the Cleveland consultant.
We were still waiting for measurements for our final order when this happened. Our screens have now been installed, and we have yet to receive any communication from the consultant.
Regarding discounts, I had to fight for a "28%" discount on our first two batches, while the Rochedale staff offered a 30% discount immediately without any conditions. However, we couldn’t proceed with Rochedale’s offer because the Cleveland consultant had already quoted our order.
Additionally, the Armour X Plus screens let small bugs in, so be cautious when opening doors at night. The woodgrain screens lack a soft strip, which results in extra noise. Fly screens are also noisy when gently pushed.
After spending $10,000 on windows and doors, I am relieved to be done with this process and hope not to have to deal with this consultant and company again (hopefully).

Frankly Franklyns are Rubbish Blinds with poor customer support. Blinds fall apart quite quickly. We had two blinds installed by Franklyn and then a clear waterproof secondary blind. The first mosquito blinds were initially ok, but after just a few months they started sticking and jumping out of their tracks. We had Franklyns round a couple of… Read more
times but they didn't fix the problem. Now the blinds have jumped the tracks so often that the fabric has started to tear. As for the clear waterproof blind, it disappointingly came with a very visible join half way down, quite disappointing. Franklyns claimed that that was how they came, but we have seen several since with no join, so very disappointing. Neither the mosquito blind or the weatherproof one have been installed well, or hard wearing. We wanted to buy Australian made, but are now very disappointed that we did.
