Australand is now trading under its parent Frasers Property Australia name since 31st August, 2015.
Avoid at all costs – Please be very careful in purchasing a property through this company. Their customer service is atrocious, they try and pass the buck about any imperfections in the property and to get anything rectified takes an extremely long time that requires multiple escalations to get anything changed. Ensure everything is in writing with them as a phone… Read more
call will mean nothing and they will not refund the money that they advised you have to do to try and get anything changed ensuite sorted that has significant drainage issues. Just avoid this company, too many excuses and little or no action.
dishonest, unprofessional , irresponsible – Although they are a big company, but work unprofessionally and always deny responsibility and blame others I bought off plan house from frasers property in Vic , last year my sliding door was stuck could not moving we call , email several time and waiting for 6 months then the last time I called and email them they blamed to supplier and rejected to warranty my door Show details
The most horrible quality and defects – I purchased a house in Valley Park Westmeadows. The house is full of defects major and minor on settlement. Most of them are not fixed at handover. To name a few: bent door, wobbling floor, dented garage door, cracked bench top, architraves not touching floor, paint defects everywhere, broken door lock, scratched windows, misaligned tiles,… Read more
dropping deck, roof leaking. The first three major issues I mentioned they refused to fix. The bent door they have replaced the same door three times and it is still doing the same thing, they use really cheap door that cannot stand the cold weather. This caused light leaking even when the door is shut. Imagine you're buying a brand new house without a proper door that a 50 year old house can have. The floor they said the allowance for concrete floor is 4mm that's why the floating floor on top is wobbling very badly, and they refused to pull it up and level the floor. I now have carpets to cover the area but I can still feel it. The garage door they said they cannot see the dents when looking straight in from far away and I didn't realise the issue within 3 months. Honestly I did not go out and use the garage door at all during lockdowns. The dents are really bad and big, it is about 10mm deep over 400mm area. There are two big dents. The manufacturer said it couldn't be caused by the wind. I guess it was some careless tradies van with roof-loading pipes that caused the dents all the way at the top of the panel. What I want to say is not only the materials are bad quality, the workmanship is and also the maintenance and warranty service. They don't want to fix anything at all if it costs them a bit. The minor issues they will fix for you but you are expected to cope and live with major ones. The maintenance coordinator is such a great pain to deal with. She is not nice, genuine or friendly. She just tried to say No to all your defects and repairs. She has a very poor attitude. She has not come back to paint my broken window infill. The roof structure of the house makes noises in the morning 9-11am and after 4-6pm most days. The noise is loud and about 15-30 minutes apart. This is due to the sun warming the roof. This is the first house I live in that makes noises in the roof everyday. It can be very annoying and scary. They used cheap timber and properly cheap carpenters also who don't have experience doing a proper job. I haven't reported this issue because they will just refused anyway. It's quite hopeless to be honest. Just avoid them and find a better developer. I expect to spend about 7k to fix the door, the garage door and the floor myself.
Very bad quality and delays fixing issues – BAD quality overall, leaving a bit of defect on everything (missing wall painting, blocked duct heating vent, missing sealant, missed tightening of dishwasher pipe, loose or broken GPO, etc. a lot). Some of these they fixed, some they regarded as small items and they just ignore them (I'm tired to chase them up). Worst of all is for bigger items… Read more
they have the same tactics to delay fixing. I worked with a lady called [Name Removed] from Frasers, had some issue with the rain water dropping from soffit instead of running through water pipe. I originally reported that as a water leak and so during our session she kept telling it was not a water leak despite the clear water marks on the soffit. She could not just by-pass my misuse of terminology to just acknowledge it was a defect that needed to be fixed! Before that I got a photo and also showed a video when it was raining to her, but she still requested another video when it rains next time, that's when I lost my patience. Please excuse me for the my bad temper on that day but if I didn't do that the issue wouldn't have been fixed by now. Now coming next is the squeaky floor, Jacqui and her floor laying guys agreed it was squeaky (in multiple places) but was not severe (They originally said it was not consistent but I objected and showed them it was consistent). The guy recommend if he fixed in one place, other places may get squeaky later on so let's wait for 3 months to see how it goes and contact them again. For this I'm still waiting but it raised a concern now when I got to know about their issue with my neighbour just opposite the road: it is an issue with his squeaky laminate floor and you can see a saggy hole in the floor with your eyes. He reported the issue 8 months ago when he moved in and everything went on very well, someone came to have a look and and the conversation with Frasers gave an impression that it would be fixed (but not yet due to Covid lockdown). Now the Covid lockdown is gone, same lady above came and had a look again and same thing she said it is not a defect. How do you feel entering your new home with the floor having a saggy hole in the living space and squeaky sound everywhere and it is not a defect??? Discussion is still going on but it wastes so much of our time. While the lady was doing this and getting paid, we had to spend time doing research and asked for time off to talk to her. It is not the right thing for a big company like Frasers to do so. You got issues with quality, you have to fix it and not pass to your customers!

Poor Quality workmanship – I had purchased two houses from Fraser and my jaw dropped looking at the quality of what they had delivered. When i reported defects, i was told that it won't be rectified as they are within the building standard tolerances. When I threatened to take them to VCAT, they paid for a building inspector to carry out an inspection report where all of… Read more
the issues i had reported (plus more) were captured. Fraser showed no intent in getting these items rectified. It has been over a year now and I am still trying to get those items from the building inspector's report ticked off. If i had known about the quality of their delivery, i would not have signed up for the second house. The worse mistake of my life. Stay away if you can.
Australand – Very frustrated with Australand and their faulty workmanship with regard to the build of units in Northcote, Melbourne. A number of units are experiencing serious water leaks to the front of the properties with loose tiling and faulty waterproofing on balconies resulting in water seeping through brickwork and plasterwork and puddles of water… Read more
forming inside the units as well as dripping on to electrical wiring of lighting. Australand have taken the position that the waterproofing was completed to ‘the standards at the time’ so accept no responsibility for it. That’s their position though – I’m sure VCAT will have a different position for them to take upon reviewing this case.
Poor quality workmanship and equally poor quality customer service with denial of all responsibility.
