Frontier Pets Freeze-Dried Raw Chicken Dog Food

Recovery from surgical trauma 3rd degree burns – Our 9 month old young dog/puppy suffered full thickness burns during a desexing operation. Heat pads were used, which I’ve since heard is standard. But they were too hot and Effie being unconscious couldn’t whimper or indicate any distress. Google it - animal heat pad burns, it’s a thing! after surgery she became very ill as the two burn sites had become infected. We immediately took her to another vet who diagnosed the burns and infection. Effie was a very sick little Jack Russell Terrier for a couple of weeks and off her food, but mouthful by mouthful, gained energy through her Frontier puppy food and a few favourite treats. So grateful to Frontier and the 2 new vet clinics - Plympton Vet(SA) and Port Vincent Vet(SA) for great clinical assistance to help our pup back to full health and Jack Russell bounciness!! Highly recommend. And huge thanks to Frontier Food, it was difficult to feed her but eventually she felt encouraged by her healthy Frontier food. Her new nextdoor friend Titch (Maltese/Schitzu puppy) shared her food and is now also a devotee! Please always ask your vet to monitor the use of thermal pads during surgery. Best food I've ever offered my furry family membera – My 2 Border Collies are very energetic and Frontier Pets food supplies them all their nutritional needs to keep them healthy. They love all the flavours equally which never happened with other foods. Show details ·  1

BEST DOG FOOD EVER!!!! – My dog was overweight no matter what I fed him and what size portions. I found frontier pets by doing some research and I'll never go back to anything else, my dog loves it, he's lost the weight and is healthy again, not only that but his coat looks so much better and (it maybe just me) but he just seems happier. Show details ·  1

Just Love This Food – I introduced Frontier Pets to our dog 7 years ago. He loved it then and loves it still to this day. When we adopted our 2nd dog 5 years ago, she went straight onto Frontier Pets food too. My Dog Loves It – My dog waits for his Frontier Pets no matter what protein. He also loves the chicken necks as well as the beef tripe. This is so easy to make for him and I know it is a quality food. Customer service is exceptional and the only thing that lets them down is the Post Office, But Frontier Pets has bent over backwards for me to help with delivery issues. Show details ·  1

grabbed a large 5kg bag of the chicken. Barely halfway through the bag he suddenly started refusing the food. I was devastated that I'd stupidly paid hundreds of dollars for food that now had no use. I contacted the company and was completely blown away by their customer support. After a bit of Q&A they suggested that the food may have oxidised and "gone bad". We had been storing the food in our garage in Qld which gets quite hot. I'd also been decanting small amounts into a plastic container for easier feeding. I was advised to throw out the existing food and they promptly replaced the food (for free) with three new bags in a smaller sizing and with a variety of flavours. With the fresh bags our dog suddenly started eating again.

With the replacement bags I took great care with storage, moving our dog food storage area to a cool, dark cupboard and removing air from bags before resealing. Unfortunately, it wasn't long before he started to refuse to eat again though. We did find he preferred it with warm water rather than cold but his interest was still sporadic.

Customer service team is amazing but it wasn't a long term win for us and we have since moved to a different brand.

Dogs absolutely hate it – They happily ate the small trial pack but the larger bag they would not eat at all… gave the remaining food to my parents to see if their dogs would eat it but they also refused it. Bloody huge waste of money! Show details

Going down hill – My dogs used to love all three selections. After the change it has not been the same. The product is already too expensive and shipping makes it even more. The more products you add the more shipping increases which does not make any sense. Show details

Frontier - not what it use to be – I have been using frontier since we got our puppy 12 months ago. Recently they have changed the pellets to smaller ones and lots of crumbs - my dogs don’t like the new formula. They have also changed the packaging which I hate. The sticker labelling falls off easily, now I don’t know which bag is which. We alternate between beef, pork, chicken. I think we are going to stop purchasing frontier.

Frontier pet dog food – My dogs used to love it but not the new powdery stuff and there’s a problem with the chicken one. They just don’t like it anymore since it’s changed and have also thrown up!! Show details

refuse the chicken. It can’t just be the change of size (although that’s also a problem now with more crumbs than pellets). I won’t be buying the product again. Very disappointing.

Appalling customer service - great dog food – The actual food, is good. My fussy dogs very much enjoy it, however, the humans at Frontier pets, have now ignored not one, but 2 emails I have sent them about non delivery and delay of my dog food. food for my dogs since 6th November, dates being 6th, 17th, and 26th, and to date, have only received the very first order for the starter pack at $156. I understand this is a busy time for postal and delivery services, but what is not acceptable, is for the staff to fail to respond to either of my emails, dated 2nd Dec and the 6th Dec, about my delayed orders worth $1173. Customer service needs to pull its socks up!

High in fat – Percentage of fat in the food is definitely too high for older dogs that aren't as active as they were when younger. Dogs should only have 20% Max fat in their food. Frontier Pets is is the 30s! Show details

Great for my dog and great for me! – After a range of high grade dog food, and then trying to make raw food myself, I am very happy to have found Frontier! My pup hates it! – Very disappointed. I've wasted 250.-$ as my12week old puppy doesn't even want to look at it. Tried everything for more than 4 weeks now. Serving it cold or warm NOPE. different brand and she eats like she has been starving for weeks! Her poo was incredibly hard too. Also - due to the price I tried to convince her for more than two weeks constantly to eat it. She lost half a kg which is a LOT for a puppy that size. I'm very disappointed and can not recommend this dog food at all.

Fantastic Dog Food – Frontier Pets is the most amazing dog food on the market today. Not only is it the closest food to a natural raw diet which is what our dogs should be eating, it contains offal and bone which are essential for optimum health, but it also promotes and fully supports high welfare for farmed animals.
