over organising the follow-up appointment themselves. The interaction appeared unnecessarily intimidating and created an uncomfortable atmosphere in front of patients.

I was also disappointed by the language used when speaking about my child. My son was repeatedly referred to as “kid” rather than by his name, and we were told his teeth and jaw were “terrible” and required immediate attention. I found this unnecessarily alarmist and lacking sensitivity, particularly when speaking about a child.

When I questioned the need for an additional scan on top of the imaging we had already provided, I was told the practice prioritises “committed parents” and informed there would be a 12-month wait for treatment and a three-month wait for scans. This was confusing given that we observed two families receiving consultations and scans immediately afterwards.

I also found it inappropriate that business cards promoting the Dr Mahoney's winery were displayed in the waiting room of a children’s healthcare practice.

Most concerning, I have received no response to my email requesting the release of my son’s records so that we can seek a second opinion elsewhere.

I have no doubt that [Name Removed] is highly educated and knowledgeable in his field. However, my experience felt heavily sales-focused and lacking the compassion and care that should underpin treatment involving any human, especially children.

Very poor service. dr Mahoney is supposed to be an expert in my condition. - charged me for an online consult to then refer me to his partner who then charged me for another consult and had me get lots of extra costly scans. The partner said he couldn’t touch me as I was too complex and referred me again. I went back to dr Mahoney who then briefly said he wouldn’t treat me and won’t answer emails or calls or tell me why.

Knowledgeable and professional – Dr. Mahony is a very knowledgeable and professional clinician. He is also very skilled and passionate. In addition to this, he is always giving back to the community which I think is wonderful.

A top professional and one the best orthodontists – Dr Mahony have been my top choice for an orthodontist for all my patients specially early interception. He is a massive notch above a lot of specialists. He has helped a lot of dentists like myself with his knowledge and experience.

that our kind dentist squeezed him in or he would have had an abscess. They over-filed his teeth when I expressly told them I do NOT want them filed at all. Once they took our money, the ‘tone’ changed: all appointments for my teenager had to be within school hours, & they were no longer helpful & wouldn’t listen. DM referred my son to a speech pathologist (who it seems may have been contracted by him) who apparently had no provider number so no claim could be made. It seemed the site he recommended to purchase oral hygiene-related items was also his own business but this certainly wasn’t disclosed. FFO also incorrectly labelled x-rays & I had to point out to them that the X-ray image they had on their screen was NOT of my son; I was confused at first; but I assured them that my son did not have wisdom teeth laying horizontally, as in the image, so it must be another patient!! FFO also NEVER cooperated with requests to pass on the X-rays (that we paid for) to our regular dentist for ongoing reference. DM’s manner is incredibly arrogant, dismissive. I am disappointed I fell for their ‘dodgy sales tactics’; it cost me WAY more than it should have for a very average result. And it was a very difficult experience for my son with the issues with the brackets & wires. And now he has the permanent damage to his tooth enamel.

Dr Baloney – [Name Removed] was on 60 minutes in the 90s riding the coattails of [Name Removed], claiming he doesn't remove teeth (he actually does), somehow this gave him a minor celebrity status, unfortunately people are being charged triple market value for [Name Removed] because of this, but he doesn't actually do anything except show up to 10 minute… Read more

appointments. At first they had huge eyes when they thought they could get 18k out of me. But then they were dismissive when I got an 8k quote elsewhere for the exact same treatment. You do not need to go here it is nothing special just fancy marketing. And pictures with "celebrity pals" and certificates proving he doesnt treat patients, his underlings do. Just be skeptical and get 2 other opinions.

Don’t throw away your money – This place charges $250 for initial consult as compared to other orthodontists who charge around $150. I did not get any service. FFO Scam – I have looked closely and I get the feeling a lot of FFO/DM's 5 star reviews are fake and paid for. DM only attaches his name and shows up for 10 minute appointments so that customers think he is the person doing their treatment. photos. Then $150 for follow ups, by the third appointment you get a quote that is double or triple what you will pay elsewhere because "DM". Then it turns out DM doesn't do anything at all, you don't see him again, his dentist students do your treatment plan, and the staff run around hiding this fact. The manager at Randwick will be super fake if you are going to pay 15k, but if you discuss this fee they want nothing to do with you. The staff job is to constantly lock in people to keep paying. DM treats people based on status, he hates doing 10 minute appointments as he would rather be traveling and enjoying the finer things in life a la midlife crisis. I just wish they were honest about who does the treatment and why it is so expensive. If most of the 1000 5 star reviews online for FFO/DM are fake then that is misleading. And if it is a dental student doing the treatment why are customers charged an exorbitant fee?

Best orthodontist – One of the topmost orthodontist clinician's in the world ! dr Mahony is only one of the few orthodontist who has vast knowledge of the subject and provides the holistic approach to the best outcome for the patients. Highly recommended

Sydney's best Orthodontist! – Dr. Mahony is extremely professional and has guided me through my entire treatment. His practice manager, Andrea has been a delight to deal with. Efficient consultation process – Sadly DrMahoney does not work on patients anymore. If you wish to proceed, it’s passed onto his associate to work. Not sure how much experience his associates has, but maybe worth a try

Excellent Orthodontist – Dr Mahony is a fantastic Orthodontic specialist. I came to him about a sleep study and he explained everything in great detail and we found the best treatment plan for me. I have not received braces but their holistic approach means that they're specialized to help in many ways.

Amazing place and great Dr – The new practice in Randwick is sublime. Dr Mahony is an extemely professional orthodontist and all the other people who work at Full Face are just as on the money. The treatment plan we devised was followed through with immaculately and I am thrilled with my results.

Wonderful practice – Very professional practice. Dr Mahony has extensive experience in the field of early treatment. I would highly recommend taking your child to him as he really helped my niece. The best Orthodontist in Sydney with over 30 years experience.

If I could I would never gone with them, waste of a lot of money and time – If I could I would never have gone with them. I have wasted 2 years with them and $10,000+. If i had known what would have happened I would never ever have made the contract with them. But everything DM said to me was dismissive, and conflicted with his YouTube vids where he seems to know a lot about how a narrow palate affects your sleep and ruins your life. He does a lot of online marketing where he acts like he’s ahead of the orthodontics game, but he is not only lacking knowledge - his character is vile. Apparently he has a degree in sleep medicine, but he doesn’t even know what upper airway resistance syndrome is...

DM said “I can’t do anything for you, you just have to live with the tiredness, no one will treat you” and then when I questioned this, he would barely look me in the eye and just kept staring at his computer. When he did look at me it was like I was dirt beneath his shoe. No empathy. He hates when you ask questions, or even say anything. The only way to not annoy DM is to shut your mouth and let him do all the talking during the consult. He didn’t offer or suggest anything else to help me. Careless, money driven, aggressive and selfish. He charges way too much too. Go to someone else who does palate expansion. I wouldn’t trust someone like him poking around in my mouth anyway.

Amazing results! – My two children have been seeing Dr Mahony for years now. Each had a number of issues to contend with and Dr Mahony worked step by step to correct all their issues. The results have been amazing! I would highly recommend Dr Mahony and the Full Face Orthodontics team.

invaluable. I've been telling everyone just so other parents can be aware that these issues can have an actual physical reason, and not just that our kids are bad.

Holistic approach in treatment – Dr Mahony and his team are very knowledgeable. Dr Mahony looks at the whole face and not just teeth. He cares about his patients and aims to help them get not just straight teeth but good looking face and better health and airway.

Treatment – Dr Mahony has a degree in sleep medicine. I am Extremely happy with my outcome regarding my Sleep apnoea. After treatment I’m sleeping better and have stopped snoring. I was told I’d need a CPAP machine by my previous orthodontist. Would recommend Full Face Orthodontics

traumatic misadventure resulting in the loss of one front tooth. I had travelled all over sydney to talk plans with other orthodontists to see if they could fix it. But all of them suggested tooth implants which they are unable to perform on me given my age. However, when I presented myself to Dr Mahoney for our first appointment, he immediately proposed an alternate plan to realign my teeth without needing an implant.

Now, after 2 years I jam finally getting them off, with my teeth look the best it ad ever been. The braces also came with the added benefit of correcting my overbite and refined my jawline, which is another pleasant surprise. just look for your teeth- not even a mins , then you will have scan teeth with the machine , this will cost another 150. The last consultation he would give you treatment plan which is only 10 mins consultation. In 1st consultation, he mentioned that he would not recommend extraction teeth for non surgery . The treatment plan that he recommend was surgery and non surgery with TADs. He mentioned with surgery , I do not need to go gum specialist to check the gum and laser tongue tie. However with non surgery I have to go those procedure before the treatment start. He had arranged meeting with surgeon for TADs , and it was free which is handful for me as I already paid aud 450. However he had advised that the extraction teeth is required even with surgery and non surgery . With surgery the extraction is required 2x wisdom upper teeth and for non surgery 2x wisdom lower teeth. He mentioned that TADs are required for both option which is different treatment plan as per 3rd consultation. Anyway when I asked question, he said that I and TADs surgeon are busy person, do not ask same question. I asked some question because I was confused , he gave me different story again. Then he passed me to his assistance if I have more question . I asked his assistance , if I go with non surgery how many teeth have to be extracted and she ( his assistance ) advised it shall be 4 tooth. I sent email to get clarification and he replied 2 tooth. I do not go with the treatment because I feel he doesn’t care about the patients . He is too busy to answer my question even I already paid 450. He passed me to his assistance who is not professional at all and unable to answer my question correctly.

Would not recommend – Bad experience. Messed around by staff - not impressed. Would not recommend. Business model is purely focused on generating sales with cold business minded staff who act unfairly toward their patients/ potential patients. Also arrogant attitude.

Terrific experience – Fantastic service and friendly staff. Dr. Mahony was patient and very understanding of my childrens needs and provided a detailed treatment plan for us. Very efficient and clearly explained throughout.

Great experience! – I had an appointment for my son last week with Dr. Mahony at the Neutral Bay practice. We were delighted with the consultation and clear explanation provided for our son's first appointment. The fact the staff also explained us each step precisely and we were taken care very patiently. At the end of the first phase of treatment, [name removed] shows up again to try and get you to sign up for the second phase and extract more dollars from your bank account. At this point, we went elsewhere.

The new orthodontist candidly told us that they would have done the work that Full Face Orthodontics had done for around 1/2 the price that we were charged. Full Face Orthodontics spitefully didn't even provide the Xrays that WE had paid top dollar for.

Neither was the new orthodontist impressed at all with the treatment that they saw had been performed. And strangely enough, not once did the new orthodontist's brackets break off.

No positive points for Full Face Orthodontics whatsoever. Avoid, unless you like seeing your child curled up crying in agony.

Extremely disappointed in our referring dentist for being sucked in by the slick marketing...
