On 30.05.25 I contacted several plumbing firms to request a quote to see what was wrong with my gas hot water system, one of them being G A Perry. I explaned that the interior walls were very hot adjacent to where the storage tank was outside and… Read more
that there was a hissing sound. The receptionist took down the details and when the tradesman arrived he went straight up on the roof which I found strange as all the conections were at ground level. He spent a good 10 minutes up there before coming down to look at the storage tank and the pipes that went into the brickwork. I watched all this on my cctv, all he did was open a door on the unit and look inside. His boots were muddy so he went to the hose and dragged it into the garage where he proceeded to wash his boots and flooding the garage and wetting boxes that I had in storage (I have photos). He then came inside without knocking and said he needed to look at the interior walls of the bedroom and ensuite which were hot to touch. Then informed me he would need to knock part of the walls out to see where the leak was and that he would need to shift the furniture but I would have to pay extra as it was on his time. I made it clear I did not agree to my walls being knocked out and that my ensuite was tiled from floor to ceiling and that they probably couldnt be replaced. I told him there must be other ways of finding a leak, he then gave me the name of a company that used cameras. Back to his van to write up a report, this took a good 10 minutes and once more proceeded to wash his boots flooding my garage again before coming inside and presented me with a bill for $253 ! $209 for the 1st 15 minutes (equates to $836 per hour) plus another $44 for the 2nd 15 minutes ($176 per hour) and all he had done was write an invoice. None of the other companys that came to give a quote charged a single cent. I told the tradesman I was paying under duress and I would take it further. It has taken untill 2 days ago for G A Perry to finally refund the grand amount of $40. Their listing under Plumbers on the internet states "no call out fee" and that all costs will be disclosed up front. When I confronted the owner/manager? he said he was at fault for not traing his receptionists better as they failed to disclose this when I rang. I would not have agreed to G A Perry coming out had I known how much it would cost just to quote. This so called "cost" is just a dishonest way of not saying call out fee.
Follow-up · Obviously I didnt go ahead and use this company to do the work as the tradesman that came out didnt seem to have a clue and if they charge a rediculous amount of $253 to just come and give a quote there is no way I would trust them go ahead. No communication what so ever from G A Perry, no explanation or apology, except during a phone conversation… Read more
Buyer beware! Most inefficienct service in the history of mankind. Got there quickly but the calamity that followed is difficult to fathom. Got charged $1,000 to unblock a pipe and fix a leaking tap that in the end they couldn't fix. Spent about 15min untangling one of his hoses! When I quizzed the plumber on why I was charged an additional $209… Read more
he said it was a call-out fee when their website specifically advertises "no-call-out fee". There was also an additional $150 for using a camera which I was not told about. ACCC complaints material.
HWS service thoroughly done – Only realised we had issue with Hot Water System due to increased water bills. Pressure valve was leaking 1.5+ litres per hour! Hadn't given HWS any thoughts since being replaced 7 years ago. Luigi from GAPerry came out and did a thorough service, including disconnecting tank unit and turning it over to drain out remnants of fully expended anodes.… Read more
Complications developed when disturbed particulates blocked upstairs taps when bleeding the air out. This was due to the type of taps (quarter turn in shower & small type valves under sink) but on a hot day and now under time pressure, Luigi handled it very professionally and with patience and care. Thanks!
Profession and respectful staff and excellent company with good quality service – GA Perry provided a good service when I had to call one of their plumbers to stop the water filter tap from leaking water, because it was broken. Dee fixed the problem really well and stopped the leak. He was friendly and professional. He was also respectful of myself and my home. The staff member who answered my call was professional and… Read more
friendly.
Since I had to utilise their service on short notice after hours it was classified as an emergency consultation. It was very expensive. It's understandsbke though because it's after hours. But given how they treated me with respect and in a professional manner, I would happily utilise their services in the future, but not for an emergency call out, only during the working hours.
Terrible service and problem not fixed – Charged $1000+ to fix my leaking bath and bath is still leaking. Promised to call back after discussion with plumber did not call back. Does not seem to value customers nor to guarantee their work. very disappointed with their service
Follow-up · The company pulled the bath out put lots of silicone around the leak area and then put the bath back. They did not give me a fixed quote put said they charge by the hour. The leak was just as bad when I filled the bath and the water ran across my bathroom floor
Top Job – Big thanks to GA Perry for helping us out today with a burst hot water pipe. I rang at 7.40. Appt was confirmed between 8 and 11 .. all work complete and tidy and for a good price. Won't name the GAP chappy but he was great. Will definitely be a repeat customer if we ever need help again.
Can come quickly, BUT Very very expensive – Pros - can dispatch a plumber very quickly. In my case, a plumber was available on the day I called and came within the hour. Assessed the problem and provided an alternative option which would take less time (=less labour costs) for a workable solution. Cons - very very expensive. The labour component for 1.25 hours of work was $297 which… Read more
includes about 20 mins of going away to get a part, and 10 mins to write up the invoice. And then the mark-up for parts are significant, for eg. a tap that retails at Bunnings for $110, I was charged $211.2! This seems excessive as I was already paying $40/15 mins for him to get the parts, and I could've gone to the store and bought it myself and saved time and money. If it was something that they had on hand, then I can understand the mark-up as they would've absorbed the cost of having it available, but an almost 100% mark-up on parts plus charging me for the time to get the part too seems excessive. All in all I was charged $615 for a job that took just over one hour. Definitely felt I overpaid. Called the owner to try and understand why I was charged so much when I was quoted something different, and he just yelled at me the whole time saying this is the cost of them doing business, they have been in business for 23 years and that he hasn't made any money then hung up on me. Wouldn't recommend unless you were desperate, and had no other option.
One hiccup but otherwise friendly, efficient & effective service – Staff came a little bit earlier than expected - but that was the only hiccup. He was friendly, as were office staff on telephone when making appointment for the service. The job, which involved a “leaking non standard make toilet” was carried out efficiently and effectively. Cost was as anticipated - only reason it’s marked down is everything could be cheaper ;-) Show details
Never again – AT GA PERRY We’re very very very EX - PEN -SI - IVE Never again Replacement of inlet valve, connector and outlet seal Parts $83 Labour $220!!!! $333 to stop leaky toilet Only called GA Perry because of recent hip replacement unable to do this myself
Terrible service – Overdrilled my shop we taps when trying to fix leaking shower tap and would not fix it. Now I have to get other plumber to fix it and pursue them for it. My bathroom is flooding and shower does not work properly. Arrogant manager and unhelpful. Would not even acknowledge the problem. Show details
Awful workmanship, unsightly, under quoted and overpriced!! – Quoted $400 for job to put a water connection to my fridge, charged $827.20!!!! Plumbing on full show in kitchen with unsightly valve over 12cm in size, when it could have sat neatly behind the fridge had that been explained fully. Absolutely disgusted with the result - Stay away from these guys! Show details
Electrical work is excellent – I had an unusual job for the electrician and even though the weather was very inclement, the job was done. Really, very well done and in very good time too.
Prompt & friendly service – We have used GA Perry several times now, each time the plumber was professional and friendly. Prompt attendance, fair rates. We will be calling them again soon, wouldn’t use anyone else.

Our go to plumbers for a reliable job – Our gas hot water system died and was replaced by GA Perry. The old system was not appropriate for the existing gas flow. GAP contacted ATCO and fixed everything. Heroes!!!
No service for emergencies – Despite being a repeat customer no service available when the power goes down and there is food rotting in your fridge. Very disappointing and would not recommend for anyone who had needed urgent service
Great service – Needed a new HWS. Was installed immediately. Prompt service at a very reasonable cost. Very friendly efficient plumber. I would definitely recommend G A Perry, and if needed would confidently call them again
Hot mess do not recommend. Buckle up – 1. They charged a call out fee $160 for 30mins just to look and chat, no work was done. We only got 10mins of out of that as the plumber went and sat in in car the rest of the time, literally walked out mid conversation, we thought he was going to just leave. We had to go up to him in his van to ask what was happening. 2. (Same plumber as above)… Read more
we needed taps replaced. Asked him to look at our toilet, just look cause we were considering changes. He RIPS the topping off, plastic goes flying, rips out the inners looks for a minute, chucks the parts back in say "yeah you need a new one". We were horrified, asked "did you just break our toilet? Cause it was working just fine beforehand and we don't have the money to get a new one now, pieces came out." He panicked realising he was rough and we could not pay for what he broke, he tries to put it back together ☹ we had to get a new cistern.
3. Stuff previous guy, we tell the office we don't want him back in our house please send some one new. Second plumber comes out is the nicest guy, checks for quality, says parts are all good. Installs. Leaves later that night.... taps are still leaking into my vanity. Call back [Name Removed] comes back is embarrassed says he didn't use enough tape while installing admits plumber is at fault. Fixes it no worries. Day later STIL LEAKING. Call back say it needs to be to be fixed now, its Saturday they say the want to charge a call out fee even though they stuffed the job and admitted fault. I COULD DIE. Say They call back....
4. Come the next week They have called so I call them ask when they're going to send someone. After all this the RECEPTIONIST has the audacity to try and tell me the parts might be bad that's why it's still leaking, she's going to chat to the Next New plumber that's coming out and tell him it's our parts. What a slap in the face, after the brand new parts we bought were checked for working quality, fault was admitted by the plumber. This women now wants to tell me it's my parts. They were in perfect working order before your plumbers installed, that was verified.
- The receptionist was rude the entire way. - plumber was rough with parts assuming we would pay for new parts. - 3 different Plumbers couldn't fix our taps. - Tried to blame bad workmanship on parts to make us pay MORE money. MONEY GRAB - $160 for callout/consultation, $132/hour ($33 every 15mins) and the mark up on parts is huge.
I have filed a complaint to ACCC. They had their chance to fix the issue, it's now our turn to request a refund as I have completely lost faith in their ability to provide the service we paid for. Also the false advertising about no call out fee, we have to pay inflated rates for a consultation - that is a call out fee.
Outrageously priced, below average service but pay up on the spot - GA Perry plumbers – Booked GA Perry plumber to fix my running cistern. $150 for first half an hour - overpriced. Was told plumber would have parts on van - didn’t. Had to go get them but “generously” did not charge for this time. Borrowed old towel - surely plumbers should carry spares and basics like this. Pay up front, no seniors discount. $283 for parts and labour. Plumbers are not brain surgeons but charge more.
Unhappy – Rang for an emergency repair for a burst water pipe. Was given a costing. $300 to come and have a look. Didnt wait to find out how much to do the job. Didn’t take up the offer. Rang another plumber who came within the hour and charged $190 all up. How does this happen
Professional plumber who showed up on time – My experience with GA Perry was very professional, can't fault them. I heard their Radio ads for years and when I needed to find a plumber I saw their website and knew they've been around for a while so gave them a go.
Nothing good to say about my experience – My Experience with GA Perry, they are not interested in customer service or ensuring supplied and installed equipment will last longer than 5 years. If they did I wouldn't be writing this review. I received very poor communication and below standard customer service. GA Perry upgraded my Granny flats main electric meter with a Socomec Digital 3… Read more
phase meter in 2016. The digital screen on the meter is now failing and soon will be unable to be read.( my last meter was at least 20 years old) I dealt with Tania who refused let let me speak to a manager about this and told me I had to deal with the supplier of the meter even though they supplied the meter!!!! I trusted their choice of equipment ,thinking if anything went wrong I would be looked after. Wrong!! Through out this continuing ordeal no one has offered to view the faulty meter. The Manager has not contacted me. GA Perry has not been forthcoming in offering a practical solution in resolving this except take the easy way out!! Electrical house meters should last longer than 5 years I'm not happy with how I have been treated!!
Great sale but the installation left a little to be desired – Great start to the journey of getting my old HWS replaced but a bit of a failure when it came to the installation. You know regulations and standards are there for a reason, so should you not make sure they are up to standard after the installation. Brand new HWS and a brand new overflow drain next to it that the overflow does not even go into. SIGH.

Great Service from Brody – I rang at 830am and Brody arrived at 930am. Leaking pipe was repaired in half an hour. Brody is very professional, happy and positive. He gave me options. This is my second time dealing with him and will continue to request him. Thanks GA Perry for being good listeners and being understanding when things go wrong.
Rip off – The plumber charged $200 for 5 minutes of labor. Only provide expensive taps $150. Didn't even bother cleaning up after himself. I wouldn't use this company again, please shop around.
Gas Leak – The website says 24/7 emergency service so I called because of a gas leak in my house near the kitchen but the operator said no one would come out after 4pm.
Burns beach sunday – Excellent service Great plumber Cost a bit but had to be done thanks robin Burns Beach Perth Leaking taps incorrectly fitted buy others ..proberly should have called ga First ..very friendly guy
Quote for new gas water heater – Came in TWICE the cost of the 4 other quotes. I was told incorrectly I would need the entire garden to be dug up. No response from the company to my queries about the quote. Use GA Perry at your peril !
Terrible Customer Service - revised – Leaking tap. Requested only the leaking tap be serviced. Got a bill for servicing all taps. Gave a discount when I reminded them of the instructions. One month later the taps are leaking again and water running into the cabinet below. Technician arrived and it was an o-ring problem. The technician must have pinched or nicked the new o-ring?… Read more
Got a call from G A Perry giving that information and that the shower taps were leaking as well and did I want them fixed. I said I hadn't been told about a shower tap problem and needed to speak with the tenant first. Called the tenant and got confirmation, tenant put plumber on the phone (he was already on the phone to his office), gave authorisation to repair the taps. Then out-of-courtesy called the G A Perry office back to let them know. (Name) was very officious and difficult, said they were very busy and they had tried to speak to me while they were on-site. I let them know that was less than 2-minutes ago and that I had spoken with their Tech on-site a few seconds ago and that he was still there and that I knew he had just called him (second time). (Name) said I had been very rude the last time and who did I think I was, "Do you run the business?!!!" Wow, that is not what I would call customer service. Will not be using G A Perry again and suggest they either sack or medicate that guy or do something about the stress levels in that office.
Post note: The tap they repaired leaked again as soon as the water was turned back on. Cringed, but persisted and called them to let them know it still hadn't been repaired satisfactorily. (Name) didn't hesitate and committed to fixing the situation. Was quick, thorough, polite and helpful. A very different experience from the previous interactions. I was very grateful. They did not charge me a call-out fee, only for the parts to replace the taps. I feel this was very reasonable and it has resolved the matter. Thank you G A Perry and (Name).
