I encountered frustrating delays with no clear explanation. Weeks turned into months, months into 3 years and I was left in the dark, wondering if I was dealing with a fictious business. The customer service at Get My Refund Pty Ltd is practically non-existent. Attempts to contact them were met with either complete silence or vague, unhelpful responses. It became painfully clear that they have no regard for their customers once they've taken your money. The lack of communication was both frustrating and unacceptable. What shocked me the most was the total lack of accountability. Not once did they offer a sincere apology or any form of compensation for the inconvenience they caused. They consistently dodged responsibility, leaving me to feel as though I was dealing with a shady operation rather than a legitimate business. AVOID AT ALL COSTS In summary, Get My Refund Pty Ltd is a company that should be avoided at all costs. Their unprofessionalism, poor communication, and failure to deliver on their promises make them one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Thieves – Wotif will not give my refund back for accomadation with 4 months notification, they are just stealing my money, the accommadation will refund it as i rang them but wotif have lied to me about it , saying the accomadation will not refund. So the accomadation cant refund me as I booked it through wotif They will not respond to my emails.. They are still ignoring my emails and I'm getting no response. Thieves Stealing $410

occasional automated email here and there, but even when receiving an email from the consultant, actually making contact with them was a nightmare. Multiple phone messages not returned. Emails not answered for weeks. I'd supplied the consultant bank statements from the time of the Swann Insurance loan, showing loan numbers, debits etc, but she kept saying she couldn't find evidence of the loan, no matter how much detail I showed, and that she was waiting for more information from Swann's people. I accept those things take time, but I would always have to make contact after weeks or months of silence, and on the very rare times I did, emails and return phone calls were never answered. Central operators advised the consultant was always at lunch, whether it was 10.30am or 4pm. Eventually I rang the central number and spoke with another operator, and explained my issue. The exasperated operator, verbatim said they received multiple complaints about the consultant and they were also sick of it as "it reflects really badly on our company". I really doubt the consultant was doing anything much at all on the file throughout.

The whole process took well over 12 months and despite me supplying confirmation of a loan existing, the consultant claimed nothing existed. It was a huge waste of time and while I completely get that third parties can delay things, the level of communication and information from the respective consultant - compared to the bombardment of phone calls, SMS and emails I got to get me to sign up initially - was completely unacceptable. There may be the odd customer this works for, but the sheer number of negative reviews would suggest they are exceptions, not rules.

Another form of a scam – Seriously think this business is a scam, I wish I had not had gone to the trouble of disclosing my private and confidential details to this company who has not been able to return one cent to me. Waste of time don’t bother – Scam not anything back waited over a year for we have to close this complainant and this was on tv shocking

Zero. No outcomes. Radio silence – Now believe this service to be a bit of a scam. I too saw the story on ACA and naively gave them all my details. Next month will make 1 year since I did this and I have heard zero about one of the claims. Not a word until I contacted them and got a vague “we’re still investigating” sorry but it doesn’t take a year. Do not recommend anyone using them as they now have all my personal information and nothing has come from it.

Terrible experience – I have lodged refunds with this company and every lodgement was dismissed. I rang a number of times to see how things were progressing but did not get any assistance. They often asked me to send more information which I did, only to get a different person asking me for information that I already sent. Communication is terrible. Waste of time!!!!

had been closed , so back to get my refund again which said the bank will try and get in touch to verify me , which they did while I was at work ( can’t have phones ) so I rang them right out of work ( comm bank ) then they never answer , I left two messages with the branch trying to contact me saying I can’t answer before 3:30 and to please ring me then ( thru didn’t ) next I get a message from get my refund saying my case is closed reason is client ( me ) never contacted the bank to verify who I am OMG frustrating, also can’t really contact get my refund … such a waste of time, also who is to say they don’t get anything ? After all we are just trusting them on very little information, guess we make that decision though

Scammers – Hi this number is a scam. They want your info and the woman I spoke to literally read from my refunds front page on their site. Stop calling I’ve had enough.

Waste of time – They send vague emails about the progress. Then on my profile page my 3 original claims are all blank without any communication. Tried calling and they are not answering calls now. Wasted hours of my time with all the uploads and ID. They better not get hacked with everyone’s private information. Show details

Go with another company – I was forced to give positive reviews whilst I was an employee to even out the negatives.

information. The link in the email sent us to a questionnaire asking us about the difficulties in paying back our loan and our personal hardships! It's now been 7 months and 2 of our valid claims have been unsuccessful, even though they more than qualify with the conditions. So much for Australia's top service for junk insurance refunds. Don't waste your time.

Amazing company! – I thought this may have been a scam. I did see on ACA and they advise me it could take a while. The banks don’t like giving refunds apparently! But they continued on for me and found me over $6000 in refunds I had no idea about. Happy to pay a fee for that effort tbh. As I would have got no where myself. it’s now May and absolutely nothing has happened. As others have stated I got passed off to slater and Gordon but my account is to old to find my account info even though I was told up to 20 years they can recover. I haven’t heard anything now for over 2 months. Don’t waste your time as you can not cancel because they will charge you for all their “work” they have apparently done. A Current Affair should do more research before promoting this so called business.

Be careful – I have already initiated inquiries expecting under the terms and conditions to be 30% fee. Now realise everything is actually 40% plus GST. Which officially makes it twice the price of other companies doing same job. Can’t cancel, if you do you lose 30%, anyway I think they’re worse than the junk insurance to be honest.

Consider carefully - can cost you time and money – Firstly, the lack of communication provided to customers is despicable. No updates, notifications, or opportunities to discuss your claim until they reject it 11 weeks later. Using their services requires a lot of patience. given is “we only understand junk insurance and therefore this is all we look into”. I.e., they won’t investigate other possibly fraudulent insurance types as they claim this is outside their area of expertise.

Thirdly, their fees are excessive. If by chance they manage to get some money back, they’ll take a whopping 30% plus GST. Some might say it’s worth it for the money you thought you’d never see but others should consider other methods to recoup their money such as making a complaint directly.

Fourthly, it takes 11 weeks to get your claim completed. I never thought I’d say this but it’s easier to deal with insurance companies.

My advice is to consider what’s on offer carefully and only use GetMyRefund as a last resort which at this point may not be worth it. However, using their services saves you time BUT not money and if money is no option, then what are you doing here??
