I have a Giant 170Ah lithium battery that I bought several years ago. The battery still works OK, but the battery monitoring app stopped working after an update. and your beer gets warm, not to mention the steaks going off. This is also a very invasive app that requires your precise location to work, which is a bit much. Good battery, terrible App, that means when I need to buy another battery it won't be this brand.
Had this battery for several years, it was in my caravan and always looked healthy on the BMS app. So it was generally ignored. faulty and always was. Even after several restarts the BMS just returns to shutdown mode. I strongly suspect there is an incorrect setting in the BMS but it's password protected. I build and have run 5 big battery lithium batteries the oldest 12 years. It's very disappointing that this battery has been totally useless. I have put another daly BMS on the battery and fixed it. If giant could supply the password I could check the parameters. Actually it's essential to be able to check and adjust the parameters.

2 140ah lithium batteries failed after one year and illegal denial of Australian consumer guarantee – I bought two 140AH lithium from these guys 14 months ago. Both have substantially degraded. you can see of the screenshots the BMS is cut off discharging before getting anywhere near rated capacity.
170ah Lithium battery. Wish I'd never got it – Do not expect it to work in an emergency in the cold.. you will be left stranded and out of power.. Battery shuts down when it gets chilly and apparently you have to jump-start it to get it to wake up. Was basically told its NOT their problem.
And was told they were not my emotional support therapist because I couldnt jumo start the battwru in the midddle if nowhere as I had nothing to do it with. Bloody Dosgusting customer service...
I need to wrap the battery up and keep it heated... what a joke. Wish I had stayed with AGM at half the price and no dramas. Apparently have been told their are lithium batteries that address this issue with built in heaters or wake up systems...
And NSW Consumer law states you cannot sell a product in which the consumer has to purchase another item to make it work.
And with it being a known issue and they have not either provided insulation nor a built in wakeup system they are at fault.
I am a consumer not an Auto electrician and around never be told to spark it with another battery to wake it up. (Which is a secondary purchase to get the item to work) as is a battery heater or blanket under the legislation. That's a faulty product... that they know is faulty and even have videos to show you how to correct the faulty product . Only works if you ha e the other items otherwise your powerless until you get to town and a power supply...
These guys blame the customer for a product that doesn't do its job.
If It is to replace an AGM and do what it does that also means not shut down when it gets cold.!!
So far its cost me over $200 to be woken up once and recharged . 2 night accomodation as it ahut down when I had to travel 5 hours away for a .epically appointment and could t use the van another $500 and have yet to get it restarted and working as the camper doesn't have a power supply .

I have had a 340amp Giant Battery in my caravan now for 3 years, it has never let me down, I have been running a 2000w inverter, microwave, air-con from time to time, coffee machine etc, Maximum I have had it draw is 160amps and it maintained that without an issue.

loads when cloudy days but in the last three years we have never had an issue with power loss in the batteries which we never let fall below 11.9v. This is the second time we have purchase these Giants for our yachts and never been disappointed.

huge difference. I could not have asked for better service. The battery performed very well, ran micro-wave, 2 TV's, lights pump etc, no issues.

which has worked faultlessly for 2 plus years until recently when it shut down at night. This battery has never been below 20%. To fire it up I can connect it to my parallel batteries or connect a charger or when the sun comes up I can disconnect and reconnect my panel. Contacted Giant who after many, many emails could not help me and said I would have to send the battery to them for testing. I am travelling extensively and need this battery, crook as it is! So returning it for some weeks is not an option. Plus I have been told that the warranty is PRO RATA making it worthless to me anyway. BUYER BEWARE.

crap after sales service, sorry non existent after sales service – I would highly recommend no one buy anything from these people, overpriced and the most important thing is that there after market service is non existent.

13.1V (not good for frozen goods) from day one. It was never submerged but could have been exposed to water spray from the road. I have had other batteries in this location for the previous 5 years. They are not suited to the Aussie conditions and I am yet to receive acknowledgment on my warranty claim. Buy another brand.
Very poor product and worse customer service – I spent 3k on a battery which will not hold its charge and will not fully charge. Supplied charger seems to not work properly either. The company were almost impossible to deal with. DO NOT USE AUSSIE BATTERIES AND SOLAR. Show details
Severly under-rated. 170ah lithium only 56AH after less than 18mths – Purchased a 170Ah lithium 18mths ago but it was never used but always connected to a smart charger. rated charge seems to be a common thing with batteries from Aussie Batteries. If you have one of their batteries I recommend you get it tested to make sure it is what they say it is. Customer service has been really poor but they finally accepted my warranty claim & allowed me to return the battery. However they've only offered a pro rata refund which is in breach of the consumer guarantees. Which states that a consumer is entitled to replacement or refund for a major fault and a business cannot make deductions. Don't buy a giant battery & if you have one good luck dealing with this company if you ever need to make a claim.

Selling old batteries – I bought 2 x 140Ah Giant AGM batteries from Aussie Batteries and Solar in Sept 2017 I believe (it is now Sept 2022). With recent fridge and possible battery problems I find that I was sold batteries that were 10 and 9.25 years old when I bought them - that is 5 years ago now. My question is was I ripped off?

GIANT 120Ah AGM – Four years old and still has 90% SOH and holds 100% charge. I have mine protected mounted in the tub of the 4x4. Two days of use without charge during summer had a 40lt fridge, LED lights, fan and the mobile devices working well. Solid build and carry strap is strong (although I still don't trust it due to weight of the battery) so I cannot fault it at all. Show details

Giant 140ah AGM battery is the best – I have two 140ah battery's one is about 4 years old and still working purr-fectly only being charged by solar panel on camper roof running Engel fridge, and one purchased for my ute tray to run another engel which is charged by c-tek charger.
