GIC Black Series Extreme Commando Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi bought extreme black series gic need to know write size over for the top of the camper
Hi All We've bought a second hand 2015 extreme commando and it didn't come with any instruction book.
We have trouble setting up and mostly packing it up. I can't find any really helpful videos. Any tips of information would be great thanks.
Deb
Hi Deb, From what i understand and having purchased a new commando a few years back, there is no real helpful instruction booklet for set up. Youtube will have many videos on soft floor setup and they are all pretty similar. First time we set ours up it took a few hours BUT every time you do it, you will get better at it. Now i do it in about 15 minutes by myself, 20 minutes if the wife helps :).
Packing up is the difficult bit trying to fit it all back under the cover. BUT once again, it just needs practice.
Setup tips: - Whatever you need from inside the trailer. TAKE IT OUT before you put the tent up - Way easier - Leave ALL the poles and spreader poles for inside the tent on the bed when you pack up. - Buy a small plastic tarp to place over the bed before you take the tent down, Keeps the bed and bedding dry and stops the canvas smell from making the bed smelly FYI - we leave all the bedding on the bed when we pack up. Easier to travel and great if you just stop for the night. (just put the pillows in the car) - If setting up the annex, put all the ridge poles in before you pop the tent up to its finished height, other wise its too high and really difficult to put the hooks in the frame - leave the annex zipped on. If setting up up for just one night sleep and packing up next morning, i fold it over the roof and don't use it. - Annex is a 2 person job
Hi Steve Thankyou so much for that great info. Some of it I've learnt already unfortunately, crawling into the storage area to get stuff after set up.
Packing up is NOT fun but your 100% right, practice is key. Thanks heaps and happy camping.
