Gliderol great customer service – Contacted Donna from Gliderol customer services, for advise on which remote fob would be compatible for my garage door. She asked me to send photos and within minutes I received a link for a remote. I ordered it and it arrived the next day. Works perfectly. Great customer service from Donna.
Horrible low quality junk! – I have two large Gliderol GRD garage doors, and they are a headache. First the remotes went bad and Gliderol wanted $120 to replace each one. I ended up buying a programmable remote from eBay for $10 and it worked perfectly, so this tells you what kind of eye-watering markups Gliderol foists onto its customers. Buyer beware, you /will/ be gouged. Secondly, the doors now malfunction and its because there are PLASTIC parts where there should be METAL. The plastic cog frame inside the roller is broken in numerous places and so the doors have to be lifted up and down manually now. It will be a very expensive repair to make these doors work again, all because they cheaped out on materials and are badly designed.
I'm now investigating replacing the doors with something made to last and engineered properly.
