Scammer and liars – Total scam. Quoted me “a few hundred dollars” tried to charge me $1700 for call out fees and after hours time which was not disclosed at start of works. Yes the lock is good and the instal was fine but complete lie of costs. Should have been around $600. Refused to give me a boss or manager’s details to sort out a price. Wouldn’t leave until I paid $1300

Amateurs and Liars – Quoted $100. Ended up being $250. Amateur locksmith couldn’t even unscrew the lock once the door was open to replace the parts. Ended up breaking the lock through incompetence. Definitely dodgy. Tried to hike up the price several times during the op and was 45 mins late. Galse advertising of 15 mins and flat rates.

SCAMMERS! – Quoted $150 over the phone, ended up charging $250 for 1 minute of work. Apparently the $150 was a call out fee and opening the door was $100. Completely dishonest. $100 to $150 is what most locksmiths in this area charge for this service.

Unhappy – Called as my keys were lost, was told $150, i accepted. Was told 20-30 min wait, ended up waiting almost an hour and then was charged almost $300. This is completely wrong, be honest about the price. You’re lucky i was able to pay, however, now my family will suffer as we don’t have any money for food this week. Losing your keys is stressful… Read more

enough, and i understand skill is to be paid for, but if i was told $300 upfront i could have called around to find something more suited to my budget.

Over priced! – Way way over priced. Never use them again. Plus the tax invoice didn’t have details just a lump sum. 5 min worth $220. However the upside is that the service was prompt.

What a Mob of Low Down Cheats – I, like a number of others, cannot give a a single star. I would give it a NEGATIVE 5. Locked out of home unit and thought I was contacting a local - not a shiester from Sydney. Guy finally arrived after an hour (told it would be 25mins) and he tookbsolute disgrace. 3 mins to open the door. Then the shock - $330 plus EFTOS fee. Try talking to the… Read more

They are not even worth a star – Day light robbery - ten second work for $500. When I said I did not have that cash on me (who has!?) and that if they gave me their bank account details I would transfer (reluctantly) money directly in their accounts while they waited. No problem, but it is now $650! I am now reporting them to consumers affairs. No point talking , they just laugh.

Overcharged – Charged $650 for a one minute job Dropped it to &500 for cash Took advantage of a 78 year old lady and not willing to rectify Called a local number and they charged $250 per hour for travel costs Never use again

Avoid this company! – This company is not transparent about their rates and takes advantage of people. Was recently locked out of the house (on a Saturday afternoon) but managed to open a window at the back. Called the company who sent an apprentice locksmith. He accessed the property through a window that we had already opened before he arrived and then charged us… Read more

$447. He was at the property for no more than 10 minutes in total.

Called the company on the Monday to enquire about the breakdown of the charge and was laughed at by them. No help, genuine interest in customer service or acknowledgement of our concerns. Daylight robbery.

Avoid this company.

Massive overcharging – I called this company's local (St Kilda) listing at 5:06 PM, just after the excellent locksmith closed, as I had to get into a padlocked storage locker as my new tenants were moving in. Not getting a quote when I asked for one should have been a hint. Very pleasant locksmith spent about 10 min unsuccessfully trying to pick the lock, then got the… Read more

angle grinder and that was that. Charge with GST: $550. For about 12 min work. I could have bought an excellent angle grinder myself for much less. Lesson learnt.

$990 Lockout Rip Off – I called these guys for a lockout service at 12.30am on Australia Day 2019. Admittedly I did not ask for a quote before booking the service. A contractor arrived in 30 mins and it was a straightforward entry into our home. Then he asks for $990 for the service! We paid, but I called the principal, [Name Removed], the following business day. He… Read more

agreed it was a 'bit' hefty a charge and kindly refunded $330, making it a $660 service. Not cheap either! After not receiving much sympathy I tried handling it through the Locksmith Guild of Australia who were sympathetic yet powerless.

Unsurprisingly, [Name Removed] is operating under a few different business names including Gold Class Locksmiths, One and Only Locksmiths and Zetland Locksmiths.

My only recourse is this review, but I hope it at least deters some people from using their rip off service.

Excellent service – The locksmith name was John and he was very efficient and great customer service. Loved that he came out so quick and worked quick as we were in a rush to head out. Thanks John and thanks Goldclasslocksmith at Greenacre -Michael

Lied about replacing the lock they couldn't open – Had locked ourselves out so they came out to unlock it after hours. Told us they couldn't unlock it as it was a special lock. Told us they had to drill it out and will come back tomorrow to replace it with the same lock type (specifically asked them if it is the same high security lock which they confirmed yes, it comes with only 3 keys that… Read more

cannot be copied). Next day they came to replace with a standard lock and charged me the price they quoted me on the special lock. Also got another lock smith to do it not their own staff.

Asked their head office why they replaced with the wrong lock, they said "we don't get that special lock you need to get it from the original locksmith". When questioned why they didn't tell me this instead they charged me for the special lock and installed a standard $40 instead, they said they had to put something in for me since our door did not have a lock. When questioned why they didn't tell me they didn't have a special lock and only waited until after I called them to tell me, they said "well we can install the new lock for you without charge but you have to get it from the special locksmiths".

No offerings of compensation or anything.

Do Not Trust This Company – Polite and helpful on phone but ABSOLUTE deceitful rip off. Quote $150 for Call out and no extra if only a few minutes. On arrival take a couple of minutes literally A couple and then charge $250. VERY dishonest.

Daylight thieves – Got this company to changes 2 locks. After 6 hours of an apprentice attempting to complete the very simple tasks, was told he can only do one as he needs to order the other lock. My husband paid him prior to him advising us of this. I then called his boss and told him of situation, his reply was”do you have a receipt” Absolutely pathetic.

Do not use! Beware you may get them even if you contact someone else eg. Apex Locksmiths – I needed a locksmith fairly quickly because I'd foolishly locked myself out. I rang Apex Locksmiths as they were listed as a local locksmith in the inner west. BEWARE of this tactic as they know that people will Google their local area thinking it will be more efficient but they seem to link many suburbs with their business and then just call… Read more

whoever can do the job at the time. The receipt was from "Gold Class Locksmith Zetland" and I was quoted $150. He said that someone would be 'around 20 minutes'. I called after 40 minutes and they said they'd be there shortly. I ended up waiting at least an hour and 10 minutes. If I'd have known this, I could have walked to somewhere where I could've got keys in this time. The young man who used tools was very rough with the lock made the door handle very loose. He then charged $165, which was an illegal 10% credit card surcharge which I was not made aware of beforehand.

I was concerned after he left about the integrity of the lock and called him. He said to send him a video of it, which I did and he then got very defensive and rude and said that there was no problem. I expressed that I wasn't happy and worried about the now insecure lock and he said that he would let his boss know and abruptly hung up on me. I didn't get a call back from anyone, nor did I know who exactly to ring, being not the same company that I originally contacted. I didn't pursue it further because I was warned by a number of people that if I were to cause issues in trying to solve the problem, then they know where I live and could break in any time! Very scary!

Wish I had never dealt with this company – Never been so badly ripped off in my life. Charged us over $900 to fix a basic lock, not even fixed entirely as the door doesn't close properly now. Terrible service also.

Quoted $150 over the phone but in the end charged $220 – Do not use this company. Was quoted $150 over the phone. Agreed on this price. When they came, they said the lock was too complicated for them. It would be an additional $50. Looks like they can only open basic locks. Then afterwards, said I would pay by credit card. An additional $20 was entered into the EFTPOS machine. Asked what that was for… Read more

and was told it was for using credit card. All up $220 after being quoted $150.

Also they don't even check your ID. Anyone can call them up and request for any lock to be opened. This is a serious issue.
