They are going down hill! Expensive and rushed job! Not recommended

Did not complete the job – I engaged [Name Removed] to supply and lay flooring in my townhouse in Nov 2020. As I was doing the renovation myself, the old flooring had already been removed. The flooring was laid upstairs and they were to return to lay the flooring downstairs and complete upstairs when I had finished renovating. The remaining flooring was stored in my garage as the flooring had been paid in full. Due to storm damage in early 2021, which [Name Removed] was aware of as he came to my house in March 2021 to collect payment and saw the water damage, telling me they can replace the damaged sub floor, I told him I was waiting for insurance to attend which they did not do until June, then no decision came back from the insurance until Nov, it was denied. We then suffered further storm damage and flooding in Feb 2022. I was finally able to complete the repairs and water proofing in October 2022, being a single mum and doing the majority of the work myself as I am not that financial, the water damage and further expenses set me back quite considerably. I contacted [Name Removed] by sms on 10 Nov 2022, he did not respond to my message so I tried to call him and left him a voice message, he did not respond. I sent an email to his company and also tried to call the other mobile number listed on the site, I left a voice message, still no response. I decided to call [Name Removed] from my work phone which is a land line in NSW, he answered, feigned ignorance then admitted he remembered me, he said they were unable to get the job done until March 23, I was a bit put off by this as it was a mere 30sqm left to do and he had already been paid for the job. I of cause agreed to a further 4 month wait as I have no more money. He said he would organise for the job to be completed in March 2023, that he would get [Name Removed] to schedule the job and contact me, that his workers would finish upstairs and rectify the planks that have shifted. It's now March, I have not heard from him, the job that was done is not the best with gaps and shifted planks making even larger gaps, not even a tread put at the top of the stairs, no silicone around the edges, nothing finished. It was such a struggle to get the money together to renovate, I had scrimped and saved for 5 years to do it, the contractor that did my kitchen did a terrible job as well, not only that but then having to repair water damage, more then once, has been a mammoth and very expensive task. I feel very distrustful of all contractors now, not only to finish a job but also to do a quality job. Being a woman we are taken advantage of, I still have no idea what the installation was to include, I can only go on what people that have come to my home have told me, I now think they have done less than what they should have and what they have done was very poor, as you can see from the photos, even the joining ends of planks were broken during the installation. If you are going to use this company, I would be very hesitant paying them in full, not only until the job is completed but you are satisfied with the quality of the work performed. Edit: They somehow removed their web address from my review so here it their site https://www.goldcoasthardwoodfloors.com.au
Update: I have a review of my first review of this company ( the continuing saga of my flooring). I have been saving and I have an update of my review for this company. I saved more money and got someone in to give me a quote to finish the upstairs flooring, now I realise I do not have enough money to get someone else in to rectify. (Do not judge, I am a singe mum with very limited income, takes me a long time to save money). So the job that Gold Coast Hard Wood floors did, they did not level the upstairs floor when they first did the flooring, the subsequent flooring company has advised that I need to rip up the floor and replace the sub floor which is going to cost me an additional 8K. As I only saved 5K, I now have to save an additional 3k as the floor is not level and they can not do anything to rectify the situation. Having spent 7k the first time round, the total flooring to a 96sq townhouse that was not finished in the first place is going to cost me over 14K, not to mention that I laid the bottom floor myself which is the only flooring that does not need rectification. I am so defeated at this point. I am so done with so called professionals. Do not use this company, if they can not get a small townhouse done in a professional manner with laminate flooring, then how are they going to do a massive home in hard wood flooring, leaves a lot to the imagination

Hello Holly, As you have posted my personal details publicly I assume you wish to discuss this publicly so I will correct you publicly as well. Simeon was to contact me to organise completion of the job, he told me that you yourself would be scheduling this, this obviously has not happened. Yes he did try to call me yesterday while I was at work, approximately 2 hours after this review went live, he did not leave a message. How was the scope of works completed when only the top floor of the house was done? As this was a CASH job, I paid Simeon in CASH in two different lots, evidenced by the following 24th Nov 2020 Simeon sent me a message asking if I had a date in mind to finish downstairs, I responded the following day 25th Nov 2022 with, "Nope not there yet, you can collect some more money if you need". On the 12 March 2021 I receive, "Hi Yaz how's things your way ? I'm getting a squeeze from the cfo and was doing a little debt collecting, any chance I could swing by, how are the renos going?" I respond, "I'm not home today and yes of cause you can come by and get money" Simeon responds, "Yay ok awesome :) maybe tomorrow" I respond, "I'm at work Monday tomorrow I will be home after 11 Simeon responds, "Is it ok if I pop by after 11am tomorrow? I reply, "Yes of cause it is 13th March 2021, Simeon says. "Hi Yaz, is it ok if I pop by tomorrow some time im getting stuck into a TV Cabinet and I think I'm going to be here for a while" I respond, "You can pop over when ever, been telling you that for ages. I have to go to **** again tomorrow to collect ****, don't know what time as yet, will let you know as soon as I know 14th March 2021, I message, "I am leaving at 1.30 then home by 4 Simeon replies, " How about tomorrow afternoon? I'm still building this silly TV cabinet lol I reply, "Tomorrow I leave at 11.30 hm around 7pm, Tuesday I leave at 5am hm around 3, wed hm all day till 4.30, thursday home all day fir hm till 12, sat out from 11, Sunday I have no idea, then I ask if he is north or south of me as I am going south and could possibly meet him some where Simeon responds, "I will give you a buzz tomorrow try and get by in the morning hopefully :)" then he says he is North I respond "Buggar" Simeon does eventually come to my home an collect another $4k in cash, I do not remember exactly which day it was but he saw what had happened to my home with water damage. Simeon said that I could get him to come back when things were eventually finished which is what I tried to do. These are only the messages, I can go back and find the call logs as well. I had been trying to pay the balance as I knew things had gone pear shaped with my reno, which is clearly evidenced from the messages that I had told him that I was willing to pay at any time but he was the one that had put me off paying saying to pay the balance when the job was done 10th Nov 2022 I contacted him by message, he did no respond, I tried to call him on his mobile, he did not respond to the voice message I left. I even tried to call your number and I also sent an email to you via your website contact form, still no one responded including youself. It was not until the 1st Dec 2022 that I was able to get hold of him by calling him from a different number, that tells me he was avoiding my calls, it was during this call that he said he would organise things for March at which time he also said he did not know if he still had my number so I messaged it to him Now to today, I find it interesting that he is willing to contact me so quickly once I do a review and you as well As to the completion of the silicone, is that not what you are supposed to do when the floor is laid? Do you not finish the flooring jobs? I stand by my review, I have reported you for publishing my personal details and I am more than happy to contact the QBCC and let them sort this out as your company is unable to behave in a professional manner
UPDATE: It is now April, they have not called to schedule completion of the job even thou he said that they would be here in March, I have tried to call twice, it goes straight to message bank, I have not left a message as they have never responded to my messages in the past (I am assuming I have been blocked).
UPDATE: Well it's now June, still no contact from them. Being a single mum I saved for 4 years to do this renovation, it's so heartbreaking to be taken for a ride by people you have put your trust in, yes I know there was a long break between the floor being laid upstairs and when downstairs was ready but they were circumstances beyond my control and the flooring person was aware of what had happened. I am happy to say, after many hours of youtubing, I did it myself with the help of my children. We did a remarkable job, much better than the "experts", every join perfect. Now to keep youtubing to figure out how to fix all the shifted boards they laid and how I am supposed to finish the edges for the floor upstairs. This will be my last update on this company as I do not believe I will ever hear from them again and as they do not respond to my efforts to contact them there is no point. The most valuable lesson I have learned from all of this is, trust no one, do not believe a word they say, once they have your money they just don't care, they have no honour.

Good Afternoon [Name Removed], We attempted to contact you on your mobile [Number Removed] at 2:28 pm on the 7th of March 2023, you have not responded or returned our call. To state the facts, we completed a scope of works for you on the 5th of November 2020. We did not receive any payment for the works completed or the material supplied to you until five months later on the 15th of March 2021. During this period of delayed payment, it was discussed multiple times that you were interested in additional works and services to be provided at a later stage. At no point did we ever receive any advanced funds from you for any future works.
Approximately 2 years later on the 10th of November 2022, a text message was received from you stating….
“Hi Sim, [Name Removed] from Mudgeeraba here. Hope you are still in the flooring game? My house flooded etc, lots happened, anyway, I hope to get my downstairs finished by Christmas. Are you able to get it done, how much notice do you need. I’m about 4 to 5 weeks away from needing my floors finished. [Name Removed]”
We then received a follow-up call. Simeon, our Director, informed you that Christmas was the busiest time of year, and we were booked out until March 2023. It is now the 8th of March, and the next point of contact we received from you is this product review.
We have reviewed the photos you have submitted and it is clear that you have still not completed the silicone, painting and decorating components of your project. This submission does not highlight any faults to the flooring product or services that we have quoted on or provided to you.
Please contact me on 0430 226 028 to discuss this in detail.
