Unfortunately process of cancelling membership was complex and problematic. Under WA law you can cancel by letter or email and you do not need to ring/use online form which Goodlife directs you towards and for which you have no record/proof of cancellation.

Some officious and rude Pilates instructors at Mt Lawley who think they’re more important than they are. Facilities are ok. There’s one fantastic Tone/pump instructor but the rest can’t crack a smile most of the time or are just entitled. Also the manager there is very good but the team really let him down. He needs to move & actually build his career and not waste it in that lacklustre and snotty environment.

spoke to the receptionist who told me I had a massive debt of something like $600. I asked her how I had racked up so much debt in a few weeks and she explained that Goodlife use a debt collection agency for all of their payments. She said I needed to contact them if I wanted to talk to them about my account. Getting hold of them by phone was impossible as they leave you on hold for hours. I called Goodlife again asking to speak to someone who could help me and they refused to let me speak to anyone. I asked for the club managers contact details and was told that is ‘confidential’. They wouldn’t even give me a first name. It took several days to sort out the issue and I ended up paying several hundred dollars for something that was Goodlifes fault. I am still a member as I am locked in for 12 months and the club is a mess. Toilet paper everywhere in the bathrooms. There is water all of the floor and all around the sink. The locks on the lockers have been broken for 6 months. There are no paper towels to wipe down equipment. There are signs on the walls threatening members with fines if they don’t put equipment back. The general feeling is that all of those members are hostages being held against their will.

would not known this was not going to be an option, I would have not chosen this location. While there is a pool at the location in Bibra Lake, I shouldn't have to drive nearly 30 minutes away to that location.

This location has a host of other issues as the lockers and showers are dirty (The Cotteloe location has clean and well maintained lockers/showers) The equipment is need of repair and a clip for the cable machine was missing for at least 2 months (10 dollar part). The dumbbells are locked (37.5kg and higher) after staff hours due to noise complaints. As a member, we are entitled to a clean club and access to the working equipment.

I'm very disappointed with Goodlife and can't recommend the gym to any one until this facility is improved.

Be aware of joining at this location. The staff is friendly but it seems that head office is not giving them the necessary support to make this a quality health club.

First time at the new brookfield=place gymnasium. Was a comp. Pass to use.the facility, rate it 8/10 like it! – Allowed a complimentary visit. Well booked,went at a reasonable hour and great location. Nothing fancy., ok for serious session or go with a buddy.

Great Service..Great teachers – Everyone is always having a winge...the booking system works perfectly..first in best dressed does not work at all..get YOUR act together if you want to do a class and book early..the world doesn't stop because you want to do something..

I have been a member of Goodlife Butler for a few years. Haven't been able to get much use out as I have been coming back from an injury. in sweat and walked off laughing. I went to cancel my membership and was told they will cancel in 30 days. They constantly keep putting the fees up with no justification. I joined as a foundation member and Goodlife has not stepped up to what I would expect from a health club

DO NOT PAY FOR GOODLIFE – Expensive. Extremely busy constantly waiting for machines. People standing around on their phones constantly. When going to cancel Membership after 2 years of being a member, still had to pay a month of fees post cancelation. Do not recommend, the gym is all about money.

They are a scam. Read this before joining – Goodlife use a debt collection agency for all of their billing. They often take extra money out of customer’s accounts for made up expenses. have asked to speak to someone they tell me to call the debt collection agency, however when you call them they don’t answer the phone. I have asked for contact information for the club manager but according to them that information is ‘private’. The Cannington club is in a shocking state. The bathrooms have water all over the floor, the locks on the lockers broke six months ago and were never replaced. There is hair all over the showers. Half of the showers are broken. The toilets are blocked and they stink. There is black mould in the bathrooms. There are no paper towels to wipe down equipment and there are signs threatening to charge members for leaving equipment out (however I have never seen any equipment left out)

Do not enter a direct debit agreement with Goodlife – Try to cancel a membership with these guys!! Once they have your card or bank details, they ignore requests to cancel the membership and continue to deduct from you card. gym and spoke to staff, I've been assured the cancelation will be progressed, and I would receive a call from management. Nothing happened and they continue to charge my card. I've had to put a block on my card, which will impact other direct debit arrnagements. Disgraceful.

calls and when I tried to speak to the manager about my membership cancellation she avoided me like the plague. I found their toilets were always dirty. One of them had marks up the toilet wall which looked like the remains of vomit and out if interest I used to check to see how long it would take someone to clean it. I literally waited months and it was still there on my final visit. When you try to leave they make it as difficult as possible and charge you after you have left no matter how long you have been with them. I left due to having a baby and not being able to get there (Goodlife closed all their creches) and they continued to charge me after I left the gym even though I had been a member for eight years. I would never be a member again, interestingly every single person I know personally who has been at Goodlife says the same.

Beware if you do weekly direct debit make sure you document everything. Also an account keeping fee is charged. You probably won’t be told about this!

claimed the staff member didn’t nothing wrong and announced himself which he certainly didn’t not and they refused to let me out of my membership without an insane fee. Went through consumer affairs and they wouldn’t even let them talk to the manager! Do not train here they will take your money and treat you like dirt. And don’t even get me started on the uncleanliness of the gym and the change rooms and how more than half the lockers don’t work and more than 3 showers don’t have shower heads and are completely broken. Would give them -10 stars if possible.

That’s NOT a free trial! I asked him about the week free and he said no it will be a day / when do you want to come; I repeatedly said I’m finishing off another membership, going on a trip and when coming back, want to pursue the best option/ gym so I am collecting information 24 hours and 10 minutes later, no email or text

So I wrote to the gym via their webpage contact on Sat; it’s now Monday, and still no reply….

Really really ridiculous considering I was after their platinum+ membership; but looking at these reviews Plus my first impressions, this will NOT BE my next stop…

I had finished my exercises and walked into the reception area to sit down at the table to wait for my husband who had gone to collect his gym bag. There was a woman standing at the front door who was wanting me to let her in. I went and sat down and this woman kept on banging, banging, banging, banging on the front glass doors. She then moved to the other side of the glass sliding doors so that she could see me and was harassing me from outside.

Let me be very clear, we are living in a crazy world. I have no idea who this woman is, or if she has a vendetta against someone inside the gym. Also, according to the gyms rules you are not allowed any 'TAILGATING'.

Anyway, i continued to sit and wait for my husband.

The woman then piggybacked her way in with another woman.

She then thought that it was appropriate to approach me at the table where i was sitting and gave me a mouthful. She told me that she was a member of the gym and how dare I not let her in!

I advised her that I had no idea who she was and it wasn't up to me to allow her access. She told told me that 'karma' would get me and she continued to carry on.

FYI, it is a dangerous practice not to have a accurate head count in any establishment in case of an emergency. Something I am sure Gooddlife Subiaco would be aware of.

I made a formal complaint in writing, and asked Ella if she could check CCTV checked for Sunday 7 October between 9:15 and 9:30. The woman was doing a 9:30 class and she would be easy to identify. I then asked Ella if she could have a word to her - not an unreasonable request.

It was on their premises and I don't pay a gym membership to be abused. It is unacceptable for me or anyone to be harassed when I inside their gym, following your rules.

I have followed up with Ella three times. To date, still no response.

problem but say they cannot do anything or put signs up anymore because management does not allow it. One weak I was told off by a large bloke for loading a machine he had left for some time, apparently I did not see his black water bottle sitting on the black seat against the black machine. The next week I see a woman stacking the hip abduction machine with free weights, pulling and bending it to get the weights in and out. When I asked her, "don't you think that would damage the machine" she agreed then told me off for being rude. What about her inconsiderate bevaviour? I pay my membership to use machines that are working and to not sit around waiting for a machine that is not being used for 20 minutes. A few signs is all thats needed. It's not good enough Goodlife.

I’ve been going to this gym for almost 6 months, I almost always bring a towel and will use it when on equipment that requires it. I ALWAYS wipe the equipment down before use and AFTER use. My observation is 8/10 users DONT wipe down after use which is why I do it before hand as well.

Today I didn’t bring my towel as I was going on equipment where I won’t require a towel. How do you use a towel on a cross trainer??

I went in and scanned my card. The girl at the desk didn’t say hello but the first thing she said was where’s your towel?

I said I hadn’t brought it as I’m going on the cross trainer. She said it doesn’t matter, you must have a towel. I said I wouldn’t need one as I’m using the cross trainer why would I need one. She said again it didn’t matter. I said that 9/10 users don’t even wipe down afterwards and to perhaps remind them too. She said you must bring one next time.

I then went to fill my water bottle and a guy asks me where’s my towel. I said I was just asked that at the desk. He asked again, where’s your towel.

It was at this point I felt like I was in high school! I’m 51 years old and didn’t appreciate the tone or attitude.

I then said I was already “interrogated” at the desk. He then said you weren’t interrogated. You can’t train if you don’t have a towel. I replied that the girl at the front said I could but to have it next time. He said I don’t care, you’re not training.

I reacted with “Screw you”. I felt that the entire issue of forgetting my towel even though I wouldn’t need it was handled totally unprofessionally.

He then spoke over me as I tried to talk and threatened to call the police if I didn’t leave.

I find being treated like this totally disproportionate to what the issue was.

Whilst I regret saying “screw you” it was only in reaction to being treated like someone that had blatantly ignored the rules and was admonished like a teenager.

At no point was I aware either that a towel MUST be brought each and every time. This is the first time I’ve been advised of this.

I was given false information at the time of joining, I asked the lady few times about any cancellation fee or lock-in contract, but I was told to just give them enough notice and didn't mention any thing about fees included. When I wanted to cancel, I was required to pay cancellation fee and they keep saying everything is in contract but very smart of them contract was sent to me only after I paid my first joining fee and gave them my card details. Impossible to talk to them over phone and email response is late, but fees keeps getting deducted. Would never recommend this gym to anyone, there are better gyms.

Not happy membership price rise – Was not advised of a large membership price rise. Loyal paying member since 2008. Have tried to get a copy of this letter allegedly sent which is not on the app or with the home club or from the debiting company whom increased the charge. Shouldn't the contract stand and be assessable to all parties at all times.

intention of ever using the gym again. After doing this I was told there were "late fees" from a declined payment sometime in the past so my membership hadnt been cancelled and I had to pay another $80 to cancel. I refused and they threatened debt collectors. I have refused on principle. There are far better gyms around that act ethically and provide clean, well maintained equipment. Stay away.

BEWARE – Be careful with their contract it is a roll over, if you don't cancel they continue to bill you! Very nice when you sign up, then nothing. They don't advise you your contract has ended. Bibra Lake. I would suggest a more reputable operator.

Threatening Debt Collectors - Don't fall for the threats – Having left this outfit 3 years ago and after multiple harrassing threats of debt collection, despite owing nothing more in fees, these so-called collectors have yet to show up on my doorstep. Don't believe them, they use this tactic to scare you but never ever carry it through. Terrible business. Liars. Avoid like the plague.

the refund is being processed. It took nearly 3 months for partial refund as they did not disclose admin and coaching fees were applicable until after signing up (this amount was not refunded) I would never recommend Good Life Health Club if you're looking for decent honest gym. Avoid them at all costs.
