Not that great of a service – Didn’t have such a great experience with GT Solar. Started smooth through the sales team then turned bad. Was promised installation within 3-4 weeks, waiting 9 weeks and had to follow up and chase the install team. install team got in touch, delayed again and had to follow up myself which was annoying.

Once installed , I noticed my internet went down, spent 3 days trying to work out what the issue is with the internet company without any success. Had a NBN technician come out to replace the NBN box and wires and found the NBN cable was accidentally cut which caused the issue with the internet. My internet cables were right next to the solar system which was installed.

After the NBN technician replaced the cut wire, internet was working fine. I have raised this with GT Solar, they did their “investigation” and denied cutting it. Very disappointed as I lost 3 days of work due to this. They did apologise but no compensation for time lost of 3 days working.

I recommend if you go with GT Solar, monitor their work so they don’t do the same to you

Terrible Installation Service – Sales process was fine. I was sold the system on the basis it was installed before xmas. It was not. Installation process is a disaster....and still ongoing. xmas. I responded and these then went unanswered. I had to call and chase several times the days before installation to see if they were coming. They were not...and apparently they thought they had let me know when they had not. If I had not rang several times to confirm I would have been waiting for them. After some discussion the Installation was proposed to be moved to the new year, with a "will make sure 100% it will happen". After giving them several dates I heard nothing for a week. I had to chase this to see when it was happening. If I had not chased I would still be waiting. A new date was locked in. The day before the new installation date (around 2PM) I was called and asked to move it to the following day. In a moment without thinking I said yes, then regretted this when seeing that day had a chance of showers in the morning. They then come the following day and cannot install due to the weather. When I enquired why they moved my install to a day where there was rain predicted all I got were excuses. One which made me laugh was "we don't check the weather in your location, just in general Melbourne". After expressing my displeasure at this being the third missed installation I'm then told they cannot come back for several days which again is a very frustrating conversation. After explaining again that I have already organised to be home 3 days including taking time off work i'm then asked why they can't just come on Saturday so I don't need to take a day off work. Apparently the concept of having plans on the weekend was foreign to them. The person on the phone then smugly suggests I don't need to be home so whats the problem, after which I remind him the electrical panel is inside and as per previous conversations I need to be home. Anyway they are apparently coming again in a couple of days which is "the best they can do", which is not a convenient day. So hopefully the install will happen for the 4th time. After having several days off work / ensuring we are home three times i'm well over this. Overall the communication around install, the constant moving of dates and chasing I have had to do has been atrocious. The phone calls with them during this have been nothing but excuses and basically putting it all on me to bend to their schedules... No real empathy whatsoever for the inconvenience caused of being home 3 times with no install... only a belated "sorry" which by then counted for nothing and to be frank did not seem genuine. Let's hope the 4th install happens and they bring the extra solar panel they forgot.

UPDATE: After the installer came the debacle continued.. the short version: - Quote from the installer.. "The system the sales person designed was not practical" .. it was redesigned on the spot by the installer. - The installer said he would not remove the existing old system even though this was part of the quote. - The installer was going to install the inverter on the north side in the direct sun which is exactly what you are NOT meant to do. After asking why it cannot be on the south side where the existing inverter is I was given a few random reasons which when challenged made no sense... I think it was just a bit harder for them and they didn't want to. - To connect the solar panels to my electricity panel (which is in the hallway inside) the installer was going to pull the cable though the ceiling and run conduit down the wall to the panel, all in plain sight. So in the front door hallway you would see a cable and conduit coming out of the ceiling. I though he was joking, he was not. - In the end he offered to install 17 of the 25 panels and not the rest along with the above mess. - So its now cancelled. - You may have a better experience however mine was a complete waste and now back to square one finding hopefully a more reputable installer... I guess it's true, you get what you pay for.

Disgusting service – Used these guys to install a 6.6kw solar system to my property. Very straight forward job. They told me it was all sorted and up and running. I paid the bill. dates for both properties within a week or so of the contact. The install team turned up on time at both site and completed the install the same day for each site. The same team did both sites and the staff were friendly, informative and efficient. The day of the install and the second site had intermittent rain but this did not seem to interrupt the process. Still waiting for our Meter to be updated before the switch on but that's a issue for Energex. Will report back later about how well the system performs. Would recommend GT Solar if you looking for a good installer
