Great friendly customer service
I know there are a lot of bad reviews here about this company, but i can only speak of my experience. I bought a pair of 1kg dumbbells just to try them out and i never had an issue. Ordered on the 30/10/20, they were sent on the 3/11/20, with a tracking number. Arrived on the 5/11/20.
I got a confirmation email, then a thank you for your business email. All good as far as i'm concerned.
Fake Eta’s met with delays
Ordered dumbbells that were supposed to be in stock.. then it got hit with delays upon delays everytime i asked for an eta.. 6 months later i asked for another eta and they said they are still “confirming with supplier”, best part of this transaction was the quick refund lol never buying From these plebs again..
Buyer beware. Most atrocious customer service I have ever come across. Do not expect your order to come on time and do not expect them to follow up and update you. I understand that these are hard times and that there may be supply chain issues but 8 months for two pairs of 1.25kg plates is ridiculous. Having paid over $500 for my entire order, I expected a higher level of customer service than the curt and nonchalant replies I have been getting. The customer service staff seem poorly trained, especially in conflict resolution as it is evident...that they are putting minimal effort into reading and replying to customer emails. Once they have your money, they no longer care about your satisfaction and will string you along as they please. Detailed below is my experience with GD. Not once did they take the initiative to update me with an eta once a delay was anticipated, leaving me to waste my time on their incompetence. Disgraceful. In march, I ordered a set of dumbbell handles + plates set and a tricep rope. I was then contacted by GD because this was out of stock, then they advised me to upgrade to a more expensive set which was promised to be in stock. The order was finalised on 20/3/2020. So you can imagine my disappointment when the first delivery arrives on 2/4/2020 missing 4 x 1.25kg plates and the tricep rope with no explanation whatsoever. After having to personally follow up with GD staff several times, I was told that these items were on backorder and that I'd have to wait for dispatch around the end of April/beginning of May. The second shipment only contained the tricep rope; again with no explanation as to where the rest of my items were. After emailing, I waited 2 weeks for a reply to be told again that the plates would have to wait till the end of June. After not having heard anything until July, I had to follow up again to be told that they were expecting to receive the plates in August. Most recent update from my next follow up with them in August was that the plates are expected in November. I honestly have lost all faith in this company and if I will ever see these plates at all. I emailed them with a resolution to restore my faith recently. Yet the garbage reply I received only achieved the opposite effect. Ball's in your court GD. And please don't make me talk to Kirsty again. She needs to go back to customer service training.

Ordered an olympic barbell (cheapest one they had) & 120kg of the classic style plates to go with it, everything came in 10 days after purchase and quality was surprisingly great! I think they had supply/ logistics issues earlier in the year but now they've got it figured out

Stay away from this company
If i could rate this business, i'd give it 0/5. Not worth spending money as i have waited more than 19 weeks to receive my order, yet still nothing delivered and no sign of getting it any time soon. I ordered 80kg dumbbells when they were in stock and still didn't receive any crap. I can understand there would be massive amounts of order during this pandemic, but 19 weeks is just way too long and waste of time. I was also offered a gift card after i contacted them few weeks back about my concern, but what's the point when they aren't even going...to deliver the products. Yet again, i received a text saying they are still unsure when my order will get delivered. I would highly recommend to not waste your money and time and stay away from purchasing anything from this business. I wish I could charge them interest for keeping my money this long. PS: wish.com is better option they can deliver Ur product under 2 months If U guys don't believe me check the date on top right and corner of the picture I uploaded that's the date I purchased and today is 31 August.

I had a great experience with gym direct! Ordered some dumbbells from here on the 7th of aug they are a lot more affordable then some other websites and most gym sites have a delay at the moment, I saw the notice when I was checking out saying they weren’t expected to arrive untill late August and then with shipping times I wasn’t expecting to receive untill september. I’m working with a courier at the moment and there are terrible delays all around aus let alone Victoria. Parcel arrived a week ago!! Very happy it came so first considering the circumstances and the dumbbells were packed well.
Don't fall for the great prices
Ordered something that was said to be in stock and listened to the 2-4week dispatch delay. 4 weeks passed, heard nothing. 5th week I enquired and they said it was estimated dispatch time only. Was starting to get very suspicious because something supposedly in stock was taking so long. This was not a pre order item. God knows how long that'd take. Anyhow, 6 weeks went by and I messaged again only for them to say that they didn't recieve enough of my item off the pallet and they won't be getting any more. They then offered me a refund... The mos...t annoying part of this was why lie and say it was in stock? If it was pre order I wouldn't have bought it as my at home training business was waiting for it and I was telling clients I'd have it every week, now I look like an idiot. Great prices but can't ever trust purchasing from here again because what's the point of a great price if the product doesn't exist in stock?

I've made a few small orders. Two of the orders were partially delivered. Still waiting on some items.
Delivery time was between 5-6 weeks and 2 months. None of the deliveries were within in their estimated time frames. I did not have an issue with getting reply's via email when i enquired, usually around 2 days.
Ive also bought gym equipment from 3 other companies during covid, 2 were similarly unable to deliver on their estimated delivery times, especially for imported products, and the only one that reliably had stock in store had increased...prices significantly ($100 extra for a set of 30 kg hex dumbbells vs pre covid). Based on my experience with other gym stores ild say gym direct was average, maybe a little slower. I would say now is not the time to be buying equipment from anywhere if your not willing to wait and experience delays They could probably have handed the increase in demand better, but if your business suddenly got hit with a >200% increase within a period of around 1 month, do you think you would have done any better? Their prices seem slightly lower than most others i looked at, and i preferred their hex dumbbells over some of the other I've gotten. ill give them another chance once things settle down to finish off my home gym.

They don't even stock items.
This company doesn't physically hold some (if not all) of their products advertised online. If you're after something within a week/month. This is not the place for you.
I purchased an item through this company knowing delivery was to be expected mid-late august (3 weeks) as stated on their product page. However, sometime after they pushed the expected delivery date by one month without sending a notification. I found this out by sharing the product to a friend only to notice the unexpected delivery amendment.

You're better off shopping on Ali Express - it will save you time and money.

Exceptional quality, ignore these covid reviewers!
Honestly really impressed with the quality of the bench I bought, having been load tested with 600kg worth of weight and an easy safety rating of 300kg its solid, after building it the thing doesn't budge and its solid thick metal with awesome adjustability! The fact that I could easily pick up from the warehouse, its weight certified and was damn good bang for buck is great!
Now here is my word of advice, unfortunately due to the virus and the whole world shutting down people are unhappy for not receiving their goods. they should of been pre...orders in the first place but people need to realise HEAPS of different industries have been halted since March, get over it and ask for stock count next time. Don't let their overall rating ruin your purchase experience as they do sell quality goods!

Ordered a quite few gym items late March, 'was supposed to be delivered late May & am still waiting for items; it's mid-August now. Customer service is very poor & when they did contact me, they usually made false promises they didn't deliver on. Save your money & AVOID THIS BUSINESS!!

DO NOT SHOP HERE. I am also a victim of the deceptive practices of this terrible company. I purchased dumbbells as ‘in stock’ and after two months of ever changing delivery dates could no longer believe they were acting in good faith and asked for a refund. This too was the subject of many emails but no action and like other reviews I was forced to go down the path of legal action to have my refund finally processed. To top it off I was charged a restocking fee for goods that weren’t even in their warehouse and couldn’t be shipped.
No Customer Service
Ordered day gyms closed understanding there would be delays. However after 2 weeks I asked for an ETA and was told 1 to 4 weeks. Well months later still nothing, no communication. Eventually I got email saying it was being prepared. Then no response. I tried email multiple times and nothing. Phone lines and web chat are turned off and they won't reply to emails even after weeks. There no information on website giving timeframes or anything.
I had to go through paypal despite and they still wouldn't reply. Escalated to paypal and got a refund, and they had the hide to say for any questons or enquiries to call them...
Avoid like covid.

• People Trying to get hold of stock - 1200% increase in customers visiting the website
• % of increase of orders (ballpark) - 1100% increase in orders
• Staff numbers and the increased numbers to try and combat demand - 250% increase in staff

The crappiest place to deal with - scammers !!!
I have ordered an Olympic Adjustable Dumbbell set since 23/03/2020 (which by the way, is very very over priced, but desperate times calls for desperate measures), with the promise that I will receive it by mid April/early May, that didn't happen. I have tried getting in touch with them by phone, which they have disabled till today. I have tried getting in touch by email and have been getting very delayed responses with the promise of delivering my items by early June, and that didn't happen moving the date further. Then I've asked them to refun...d me my money and they've promised to do so and have not made good on that promise. They've ignored my request for a refund and have sent me the items on the 10/07/2020, with items missing. I have sent them an email threatening to report them to the ACCC/Scam Watch and the Ombudsman Office and that I will fill out a transaction dispute form with my bank. They have promised again to issue me a refund after picking up the items from my home to be sent back to their warehouse, let's see if they actually refund me my money, If not I will be taking further action with authorities as I've promised them. Avoid this gym direct store completely, absolute crap!!!
Providing tracking number but no product dispatched???
*Update: Order arrived 6 days late, and 2 days after I lodged a chargeback request from my bank. I'm happy with the quality and price/value of the products but the dismal communication from GymDirect leaves a lot to be desired. It is not a good look to be disabling phones and not answering emails from customers wanting updates on their orders when there is so little information provided on order status. Would suggest they also improve communication with the freight company since no one seems to know what's happening and both parties are busy po...inting the finger at each other.* Made an order in June for items that showed in stock. Advised about 2-3week delay in dispatch which was ok. Several weeks later they emailed me a consignment number and tracking that said it was being delivered in a week. No tracking info ever actually got updated. Delivery date came and went without any part of my order arriving. I called the freight company twice who told me that Gymdirect have sent a consignment number but haven't provided any goods to be delivered and that they have been doing this for a while!!! Will be lodging a claim from my bank.
Poor delivery, poor communication
I received a partial delivery of $1300 worth of equipment that took extremely long to come (3 months). I asked about the rest of the equipment and they have no idea when it will arrive which is terrible. One of the items I ordered, an Olympic nylon collar pair was broken on delivery, and I only received one rather than two. Very disappointing.
Extremely long delay and false communication
Do not order from gym direct! I ordered a half rack 4 months ago and still have not received anything. They told me four weeks ago it would be here in two weeks and still nothing. They advertise on their site that they will send the product by a certain date but this is false and they are just trying to cash in on COVID delays.

I Emailed - nothing.
I then emailed asking for a full refund. Didn’t take them long to email back saying my goods are being dispatched this week. I waited till Friday - no despatched email.

I am just disgusted in this company. My order was over $1200 PLUS postage.

Absolutely disgraceful service order made my order on 25 February I have had absolutely no communication with Jim direct even though I have been emailed them was told a week ago that my order had arrived at their warehouse and I’m still waiting for my order Will never buy from them ever ever again
has anyone got their equipment? I placed my order 23rd March.... have received nothing and no response to any of my emails? Who do i take this up with? Any advice?
its has been 10 days since my last email follow up and have still not received a reply. If i don't hear from them with a date for delivery I will be disputing the transaction with my bank - as goods have not been received.
I got 4/5 items on 21/4. Ordered on 26/3. The communication is really frustrating but your items would come eventually (usually 1 day after you get the dispatch notification). You may try messaging them and push to get your order jumping the queue, I've seen it worked for some. Or can get a refund from your bank or PayPal if you can get the stock somewhere else.
