BUYER BEWARE. Do not buy your luxury goods through Hardy Brothers. I have purchased 3 watches (total value circa 40k) in the past couple of years. Their after sales support is shocking. The last watch had to get sent to the UK for a warranty claim. After 6 weeks of no news, I was told that (finally, after numerous lies from various team members)… Read more
that the watch was still in Australia and they hadnt bothered to send it to the UK. I am still waiting 5 months later and nothing from them. Buy your items elsewhere, there are plenty of others who will offer the service you deserve and will not mislead.
Vallentina – Having dealt with Vallentina both on the phone and in store,I found her an .absolute delight. So willing to go that extra step to be helpfull; with a manner we all would expect from someone in her position.
Dodgy Repair and terrible customer service – I do not recommend this jeweller for repairs or customer service Show details
Absolute terrible backing of product – Completely dissatisfied with quality of product as I lost 2 stones in my wife's band in over the last 13 months. (only worn for 10 1/2 months) Turned in to replace a lost stone in June at that time had the ring serviced told they insure there work for a year. October lost another stone They did not hold to there warrantee, I will do my best to… Read more
continue telling my dissatisfaction of service they have given my wife and I then after they serviced. Want a store that does not hold up to there warrantee Go to Hardy Brothers.
Longines watch – Valentina was an absolute pleasure to deal with ..Very happy soul and extremely efficient .. 5 star person and service Show details
Watch of my dreams – Absolutely wonderful service from the manager Louis I believe ( sorry if I got that wrong ) Whilst he was serving myself 2 other potential customers came in the store but he remained focused entirely on myself . I am now the proud owner of a diamond encrusted omega constellation Thank you so much Julie t Show details
A great experienced with Valentina (my sales agent) & a very happy client! – First time to buy online with Hardy Brothers Melbourne & was entertained by Valentina (sales agent ) who gave me all the attention I needed, explained everything really well & even took some photos of the jewelries I wanted to buy for my daughter’s upcoming wedding. Very pleased with the High Level of Service I received from Valentina who was so… Read more
lovely, friendly, honest & had a great knowledge of the products I wanted to buy & also she really listened to what I needed most as a client. I recommend this store to anyone for their service & also the high quality of the products they have in store. My experienced was really great with Valentina!
Order paid and confirmed via email: but they keep the watch on hold for another customer and he eventually buys that! – I would give zero stars if I could. I made the Melbourne boutique call the Perth boutique this morning to make sure the watch advertised on their website was still available before buying it. The Melbourne store got back to me saying that the Perth store was keeping it on hold for some customer who had an appointment and would come to inspect it… Read more
in the afternoon. Since no deposit was handed in, and since the website was still showing the watch as available, I purchased it online. The payment went through, I receive an order confirmation email and the website reports the watch to be SOLD OUT just after my purchase. All good, then? Not really. Five hours later, I find out my payment got refunded without even a courtesy call from anyone. I called the main office and I was shocked by the guy on the phone (guys, you really need to understand what proper customer service is), who didn't even apologize ONCE for what happened and didn't even offered me a possible solution to fix the problem. Since they had an identical watch available on the website (just with the steel band as opposed to the leather band), I proposed to buy that one (regardless of the fact that was more expensive) with the condition that they would offer me the same discount they applied on the one I bought earlier in the morning. They refused once again showing an unbearable carelessness towards a problem THEY have created and a snobbish attitude that was really the icing on the cake. All I did was purchasing a watch from their website. And now I have no watch, no apologies, no valid alternative even offered. You tell me if this can even happen in a store that picture itself as a "fine retailer".
Avoid. Dishonest and disappointing business – I purchased a diamond wedding band from this company several years ago. I had two consults with a salesperson at their store to make sure the ring was going to be suitable to wear with my engagement ring because of the shape. They reassured me that this was the case. Well, three diamonds have now fallen out of my ring and I was told by Hardy… Read more
brothers that that the ring was not suitable to be worn with my engagement ring because it is too fine (the difference is minute). This is the same ring that they reassured me would be ok! Their resolution was that I should bring it in to the store where I would pay them to replace the diamonds, which is ironic.
The ring was never suitable for the intended purpose, and they admitted this in writing to me. I will be avoiding this store in the future, it should not matter how old the ring is - if it wasn’t suitable in the first place they should have been honest rather than trying to make a quick sale, I trusted their expertise and reputation. Worse still was that I felt like they were trying to trick me into having the ring fixed “come in and we’ll find you a resolution”. The resolution was paying then to fix the ring that was never going to last in the first place (according to them).
Fantastic – First time in store Jenny a served me and found her be warm friendly honest and interested in fir filling what the client is after she was not pushy and had great product knowledge in the watches and really listens to her clients needs. Jenny has fantastic customer service skills, you can feel she really enjoys her job and being around people. A great experience happy client thank you Show details
Poor customer service – I went into the Collin St Melbourne Hardy Brothers today wearing jeans and tee shirt to pick up a gift that had already been paid for. The staff (one guy especially) took one look at me and treated me like I was a piece of scum that didn't belong in their fancy store. If the item wasn't a gift for someone I love who wanted this item, I would have… Read more
asked for my money back. I will never buy anything from Hardy Brothers again and I will tell anyone who is considering their store (in Melbourne, as I have no experience elsewhere) to not waste their time on a store staffed by such arrogant people
Such a disappointment – Ordered a ring online. Wrong size was sent. Didnt realise, so went to Collins st store to have resized. When arrived home, realised wrong size had been sent so immediately contacted store for a replacement in correct size to be sent, not for the wrong size to be resized. Days went by and no reply from store. Rang store several times, still no… Read more
answering call....even though told they would call back. Finally spoke to a staff member, who said the ring had been resized and would be sent out. Told her not happy to have this ring altered & wanted new one, correct size. Another sales person rang several days later, after us contacting store several times. Said first salesperson miscommunicated (lied) and new one was being sent. Finally contacted company through messenger, who followed it up. Staff member had told untruth about ring NOT being resized as well as about previous salesperson, as the ring was resized NOT replaced!! Finally received the resized ring a month after returning it to store!! A month late for the lovely surprise my husband had organised for our wedding anniversary. We were given platitudes about their great craftsmanship. No communication and the worst service received from any jewellery store we have ever bought from. No enthusiasm or happiness about this ring now at all. Beware!! Dishonest, poor service, and never buy from them again!!!
Hardy Brothers is NOT an Omega Service centre – Hardy Brothers do not tell you that when a watch is sent for repairs it goes to their service centre. Their warranty is only one year, not two, which you will get at a Omega Service centre. We paid more than $900 for a repair which lasted less than a year and they would not honour under warranty (either one or two). Make sure you take your watch to an Omega Service Centre, not to Hardy Brothers. Show details

Destroyed the character of antique silver - no sense of history – I have an Albert chain which required re-attachment of key and seal. It had patina and the surface had a low (beautiful)lustre. Not shiny. It was returned to me with all patina removed and polished to a high shine. Repair fine, but all character destroyed Show details
Extremely expensive, and no sense of urgency – I brought in a ring for my sons girlfriend, that he wanted to get engraved,it was taken in to the Chatswood Chase store. They quoted $60 for three letters engraved, but it would take a month, which was not suitable, as her birthday was in a couple of weeks. So, while i was there, I asked about my signet ring, which I had for 40 years, and could… Read more
barely see the engraving any longer. I paid $30 for it to be sent to Brisbane for a quote. I assumed it would be the same price they quoted me on my sons girlfriends ring... both gold signet rings.... both with 3 letters to be engraved. I called them to ask what was happening, as I had not heard anything, and was quoted $250 for engraving....4 times what I would have expected. It does not make any sense. They are a total rip off. I am now looking at two weeks wait for a ring to be sent from Brisbane to Sydney. You could ship it around the world in that amount of time. They are totally out of touch with price, and the customer service is really shocking. You could pop the ring in the post and it would be back here in a day.
Rip off store. Avoid avoid avoid – Appalling service. This company does not care for customers. Service is slow and arrogant. Expect to pay significantly more than with their competitors.
Horrendous service! – Horrendous service from their repair centre when I tied to change a battery in my watch. Very long ETA’s were provided which kept extending. They didn’t call me when they said they would, so I had to chase them all the time. After a month, when I finally receive a quote the price was more than 10 times higher than their closest competitor. When… Read more
I refused to proceed because of the high quote and asked for my watch back they still tried to charge me for their postage costs, which they never discussed with me prior.
When I refused to pay their postage costs, they made obscene gestures at me and kicked me out of their store. Considering I bought my Breitling from them originally, this experience was shockingly disappointing. I will not be returning to their store or buying anything from them again.
Poor quality product! – I purchased an expensive Omega watch from Hardy Brothers in Chatswood Chase and paid nearly $8000 in about 2 years ago. My watch stopped movement three times within 2.5 years! The first time was 6 months after purchase. Hardy Brothers said it was a battery problem. How long have they had it in stock that the factory battery only lasted 6 month!… Read more
After 11 month since they replaced battery, the watch stopped movement again. Hardy Brothers said they fixed the internal mechanism. Another 11 month later, my watch stopped movement for the 3rd time. Hardy Brothers said they had to replace the whole movement for the watch. You wouldn't expect to have so many problems with an expensive brand new Omega. In comparison, my Tissot watch that costed only $300 lasted 16 years so far without a single issue. Based on this experience, I would not recommend buying watch from Hardy Brothers as they have really poor quality product.
Terrible after service – Bought my son a Longines watch for his birthday and were looked after by the sales staff very well. However when watch was taken back to Hardy Brothers for new battery two years later have been told there is extensive damage to the watch. Not understanding how this could have happened as watch was only worn on special occasions the Service Manger… Read more
said he would look into it. After returning to the shop 4 weeks later was told that we obviously took the watch somewhere else to change the battery. I told the Service Manager that we had never taken the watch anywhere else, to then be told that it had been tightened to much on his wrist.
I then asked wouldn’t the damage be different in each of those scenarios??? To that he said the watch was thin and easily bent.... still not answering any questions.
I could go on, but I just wanted to say that their after Service is appalling and all the blame is on the customer, How could it have possibly been damaged while in their care???
Would never recommend this shop, you can buy beautiful watched in many reputable jewellery shops a stones throw from this one in Melbourne.
Worst customer service ever! – I dropped my omega watch (purchased from hardy brothers in 2011) for a battery and service ..10 months , four returns and nearly $800 later they still have my watch! The manager simply does not care , he said it can take up to a year to repair a broken watch.... my watch was not broken ! I just want my watch back and money refunded , very unsatisfied customer !!
Don't bother – My sister and I went into the "new" store to have a look at some rings, they have a very limited stock and [name removed] proceeded to show me a catalogue but when I enquired as to wanting to see and try the ring before purchasing she basically told me no that wouldn't be possible. Why would I purchase something from a catalogue. My sister ended… Read more
up getting four rings resized. After receiving texts to say the rings were ready and going to pick them up, we were then told only one was ready as they send them to different places. After finally picking up my wedding band the engraving was obsolete. They then told me they would rectify and send it back to be rengraved. My husband was then charged $30, which we original told there would be no extra cost. Over the years we've spent money here but won't ever again. Pretty pathetic but then again it's now part of the Wallace Bishop group.
Great experience, great customer service, absolutely stunning jewelry – My partner and I went into Hardy Brothers on the weekend after getting engaged. It was one of a few Jewelry stores we went to that day in Sydney CBD. We were met by really lovely woman who gave us all the attention we needed, explained everything really well, and made us both feel really comfortable. We found the ring we both really loved, but… Read more
as this was the first place we had looked at, I wanted to go to a few other jewelry stores before deciding. Its a really big purchase and one that I'll live with for the rest of my life so I just wanted to be sure. I went to a further 3-4 stores and again looked at beautiful jewelry, but I couldn't get out of my mind the ring I loved at Hardy Brothers. We went back and bought the most amazing ring, I love it and can't stop looking at it. Our experience was really great, and felt that I really needed to write this as the two previous reviews nearly put me off. I'm so glad that we went in.

Do not buy a gift voucher – The process to obtain a gift voucher is a time wasting process. They are so paranoid about fraud they have forgotten about customer service.
Disgusting device & poor quality product! – Recently purchased earrings from hardy brothers online. The earrings stubbed and are unusable as the butterfly back is so lose it does not even stay on. Not sure how they could event send the product in this condition? Plus the earrings are scratched. Notified hardy brothers of the issue immediately upon opening the package. Went to the… Read more
boutique in Sydney as suggested by the online phone service who are unable to resolve the matter because the product was an online purchase.
Even best and less have a better service standard allowing online purchases to be returned/exchanged in store.
Despite attempts at contacting hardy brothers they have not returned my call or tried to rectify the issue. Will never purchase from here again.
Great classic jewelry, hit and miss service – I bought my wedding band from HB Perth. A lovely, helpful and charismatic man helped us 4 yrs ago. Now in their new store I find fairly poor service, communication and frankly snobbery. I needed my husband's omega watch serviced and bands replaced and after two phone calls and two visits I have only just figured out what is happening. Frankly if… Read more
omega are going to retain HB as their specialty service centre they need to talk to the managers to ensure the highest quality and service is being provided. There is no excuse for snobby bad service. Will be taking my omega needs to weir and sons in Ireland.
Lost Sale - Bad Manners! – Hardy Brothers Brisbane retail staff have no respect for potential clients. We intended buying a watch for our daughter's 30th birthday this morning. Staff unlocked the security doors to allow us entry. All three sales assistants were busy with other customers when we arrived. We were not acknowledged by any staff member for the 15 minutes we… Read more
browsed at the watches and waited. In fact a male assistant glared blankly at me as he moved his clients to another display. We left Hardy Brothers and bought a beautiful TAG watch, after receiving excellent service at the TAG store in Albert Street.
Beautiful Jewellery – I love Hardy Brothers jewellery. I have bought quite a few pieces over the years. The quality is outstanding and I would recommend them to anyone.
do not sucked in by their sales – look at necklace at their chadstone store, sucked in by sales lady offering 50% discount. forced to pay 3000 deposit, only five mins later we decided not to purchase, they want take 1500 for cancellation fee !!! this is terrible rip off blood sucking business I have ever seen in my life.
Fantastic Service – Very pleased with the High level of Service i received from Hardy Brothers Perth. Unfortunately i had a watch stolen from my gym bag and had to put an insurance claim through. Hardy Brothers in Perth were absolutely fantastic with their high level of service and ease to replace the item. I recommend them to anyone for their service and also the high quality of products they have in store. Thanks guys.
