guaranteed forever. On the shelf it looks like a stainless steel knife or at least an up market product. In fact it is just a ordinary steel knife that has been chromed and goes rusty very quickly. The chrome comes off when used for scraping. As with many Bunnings products the presentation is not bad but the quality is no good. I am bringing mine back for a refund.

Hinge post – I installed Highgrove semi frameless pool fencing approximately 6 years ago and have been very happy with the product untill now, recently the gate has not been returning to the closed position, has any body experienced this?. things that I don't & it's money well spent to pay for their skills & experience. I'm glad I did & seeing how it was done confirmed my decision. He had lots of gear for any occurrence & also special packing material to stop it touching the tiles etc. There was clearly a "skilled" technique to install these. He used 3 brackets on the vertical tiled wall but with a thick bead of silicone between the glass & the tiled wall, & no brackets were used on the floor (it was fixed in place by silicone on the waterstop angle). The brackets were fitted evenly between the tiles (600mm). We have Adult boys using this bathroom so it gets no favours & all is still great with this panel. I can't fault it & it was great value compared to other panels. I have given a lot of detail because I think it's important. Believe me, I wanted to install it myself but I'm glad I didn't.

Another glass pool panel explodes – I have installed Bunnings Highgrove pool fencing and one exploded this week, going to Bunnings today. It seems by this page that made in China toughened glass is not the way to go. Many people seem to be having the same problem.

Exploding pool fence – I installed four panels of Highgrove pool fence glass in mid 2010. One exploded in January 2017 and another one today (January 2018). I have read that they can explode if they are transported badly but these panels were 6.5 and 8.5 years old respectively. It took me hours to clean it out of the pool and surrounding pebblecrete. I'm nervous because I still have two more panels.

My glass panel exploded – My glass balustrading that was purchased from Bunnings 9 years ago exploded yesterday evening. Not sure what the expectancy is on these glass panels however I’m very concerned considering I have two kids at home.

Living in fear! – We purchased a home 2 years ago with Highgrove glass panel pool fence, we replaced the first exploded gate panel with Highgrove, this and the panel beside exploded 6 months later! Replaced through our home insurance by glazier. Another 2 Highgrove panels have exploded in the last 6 months, the latest today. So lucky no one has been seriously hurt! I have contacted Bunnings and requested all panels be replaced - so dangerous!!

Exploding 10mm shower screen – Came home today to a pile off glass all over my bathroom exploded on it's own what a joke now have to pay to get a new one installed and fix all the tiles that are damaged

with a vacuum cleaner. Have been advised by Bunnings here in Rockingham to write/email with details/photos and they will pass on to head office for follow up. Pool is now non-compliant with shire safety regulations so I hope it is resolved quickly. "Not happy" Like others have said Highgrove Glass Solutions has been sold and is now trading as EG Everton glass. The details advertised on the site indicate a 20 year warranty. Here's hoping they honour it.

Exploding Panel – I was cooking dinner last night and heard an almighty crash only to look out the back and see a panel of pool fence glass had exploded for no reason, lucky neither any of the family or pets were close, had frameless glass installed for only about 3 years, needless to say we are very angry this has happened!

This incident was on top of the time one exploded when we were buying them at bunnings. It wasn't wrapped properly and had no protective strips on the edges. Exploded in our hands and cut our hands, legs, face and neck. Glass went everywhere including into our hair. Thankfully we had glasses on otherwise it would have probably gone into our eyes.

We complained to Bunnings staff who apologised.

year that it is hot, we are off work and want to swim. We now have to drain the pool as it is full of glass and we can't leave an unfenced pool with a toddler in the house. I am shocked to see from other reviews that this happens so often.

toughened glass meant for a pool area exploded like a bomb going off. Seems strange to me that there are a lot of people having the same problem even though they have used the panel in the rite manor.

am grateful my daughter hadnt arrived home and when she did I sent them to the local pools for a swim. The glass is everywhere and so much went into the pool. The fence has been there for 3years and I have heard of this happening to glass imported from China, I was also glad to see this forum and it identified Bunnings Highgrive glass and being the main product with this problem and yes our glass was purchased from Bunnings. Surely there should be a recall of this product and a service to replace and reinstall with Australian made glass. I will make the necessary calls tomorrow and keep you updated on this forum.

These things are dangerous, I hope Highgrove has gotten to the bottom of the issue. Failure of things happens, fine, but the stored energy in this glass that is released when the glass fails is just scary.

Deathtrap shattered screen – Installed a Highgrove Glass frameless shower-screen in the disabled brother in-law's granny flat and he woke in the middle of the night with the sound of shattering glass coming from his bathroom very stressful. Went back to bunnings and the lovely lady in bathrooms stated that they have been to remove all stock and even remove displays due to the danger these screens are.

Exploding Pool Fence Glass Panels From Bunnings – Purchased Glass Pool fencing from Bunnings, I have done this 5 times prior with "other" suppliers. motion shows the panel had a huge amount of "energy" in it due to incorrect manufacture process or poor quality control according to a glass expert who has watched the footage. Bunnings have been helpful with the costs of Medical treatment for myself for Four (4) Months to date. Bunnings told me that Highgrove / Everton claimed it was probably a transport damage issue. Again CCTV shows the correct procedures being followed on my behalf. Anyway, I am now thousands of dollars out of pocket and am facing spinal surgery in two areas. When the panel exploded glass travelled no less than 6 metres in every direction, my wife was hit in the face and leg, our pool was full of glass and the garden/lawn area is still producing glass. Some were small shards and somewhere Dagger shaped approx. 100 mm long. Again all on CCTV and pictures so no grey areas.

Shower Screen EXPLODED – Came home today to find our High Grove Shower screen had exploded! Glass was everywhere!! I'm so concerned if my two year was in the bath she could have been seriously injured! After googling and seeing this is an on going problem - we will be contacting highgrove tomorrow!!

Exploding pool fence – We have the same pool fence and one exploded today. When I rang my pool guy he asked me straight away if I had got it from Bunnings . Yes I replied and he said it happens all the time. I rang Bunnings head office and they were happy to pay for damages and replacement ....... Now I'm just worried about the other 22 panels.......

The Rep has never seen the site and apart from a vandal hitting the glass with a scateboard, there is no way anyone would be scateboarding in the vacinity).

Now a second panel has explod and a Bunnings Rep has told me there have never been problems with this product.

We as the builders are now responsible for this problem and I wonder ho many more panels will explode. I would expect Bunnings to rectify

It was deeply concerning to hear the explosion and see the level of damage caused. It was very worrying to consider the injuries that may have been caused.

I would personally not install this product, or any related product, again. The risks are too great.

Yet another EXPLODING Highgrove glass shower screen – I had two qualified professional builders installing this screen for me at the end of my bathroom renovation and even they could not get it installed without incident - I am absolutely agog at how this screen can be sold as 'safe' and 'meeting Australian Standards', with no care and no responsibility, despite a clear pattern of product failure… Read more

My builders were literally holding the panel in the air when it EXPLODED with a loud bang. Glass shards went absolutely everywhere, spilling all over the floor and out the doorway, in the drains and window frames, and denting my very expensive and brand new metal bath - we were still finding little pieces weeks later. The builders were cut and BLEEDING, with glass all over them and in their hair - it was extremely distressing, and frightening, as another reviewer has stated.

I truly feel this is a safety issue as well as one of negligence and complete disregard for the safety of Australians who, like me, are purchasing this product because they trust the seller's name and reputation, as well as the 'certification' on this product. The product I purchased was the Highgrove 10 x 2000 x 875mm Frameless Glass Shower Panel Kit, but the issue appears to be across the Highgrove glass (shower screen and pool panel) range - this range of products needs to be taken off the shelves and both the manufacturer and the retailer need to accept responsibility and apologise for being so negligent with people's property and safety.

Very disappointed with Highgrove Shower Screens – Our builder purchased three Highgrove shower screens from Bunnings for our home in Darwin. The hinges on one of the screen doors have seized. They don't even move 10 degrees. We don't use abrasive cleaners. We are on a septic system, so wouldn't risk it. hinges. Was told I would need to purchase a whole pack of fixtures for $147!! What about the three year warranty? Supplier wouldn't help out with spare parts. Gave no other option than to buy the whole pack. Stuff that!!

Can't provide proof of purchase, all receipts are with the builder. Defect liability period has ended, but we have only been in the home for 1 year and a half.

Very, very disappointed with this product. Even more disappointed with the after sales customer service. I'm happy to pay for parts, just not the ones I don't need!!

Don't purchase this product. They look pretty, but if you have problems, they're less than fair!!! Never again!!

The door wasn't touching a thing when it exploded leaving both of us standing there with an enormous mess and blood pouring out of my friends hands and arms.

The exploding glass shattered the light fitting in the bathroom as well. Not happy about this at all.

We feel it has been a waste of over $870 (this cost includes the replacement of the light fitting, and the owner wanted us to buy another panel kit!)

frameless shower screen exploding – lifted the small glass pannel that the door hinges off to fi it and it just exploded for no reason . I was holding the glass off the floor and it didnt touch anything but it exploded leaving me standing there with a huge mess and blood pouring out of my arms . Not a good product .

Another exploded panel!! – Panel exploded for no reason! We installed panels as per installation guide, and we were very careful to ensure everything right. Very distressing. Contacted Bunnings in Whitfords and the manager indicated that it is most likely due to temperature fluctuations; strange as the panel is in the shade and these products are built for outdoors?? We are now going to remove the whole fence and revisit a solution that is safe for our small children.

and drawers, in towels, bath toys, embedded in the bath and vanity, such was the force. We were so lucky to come out of it with minor cuts and a few small shards of glass in hands, arms and feet. This is so dangerous, if this has happened before (which I'm reading on this site that is has), perhaps the manufacturer needs to take this product off the market before someone gets seriously hurt.
