Hisense V Series Reverse Cycle A/C

Makes an extremely loud vibrating noise from wall unit and cracking sounds. Poor swing reach also. Very disappointing and don't hold out much hope of getting it fixed after reading the other shocking reviews about customer service. What an absolute hassle after selecting this brand.
Very economical to operate – This isn't a big unit by any means, but it receives almost daily use overnight in the master bedroom. Cheap to purchase ($620 after some haggling at The Good Guys) and another $650 for our fridgie to install it. He didn't have any hassles, apparently most Chinese units are of a similar design in terms of installation requirements. This thing is fantastically frugal to operate - with an 8.5 star cooling rating. Keeps up cooling a 28m3 room without complaint, unless it's 40C outside and then it will be a bit louder to achieve target temperature. Heating isn't as efficient but even setting the thermostat to 16C the room becomes toasty warm in a short time. This is probably my only minor quibble - it's a little too warm even on the lowest setting.
The larger split system in our lounge is affected by inefficiency in cold weather - not so the Hisense, it cheerfully chugs away even below freezing. Remote is easy to use, some print is fading a little with repeated use. WiFi compatible via Google Home (2.4GHz only)

Brilliant air con unit hands down – Wow extremely effective, and quiet. Heaps of modes. Terrific appliance.

Excellent system and great value for money – Paid $1280 + installation for the split system in Dec 2022 in TheGoodGuys. It made the family survive during the hot summer and gave us a warm winter now. A great feature of the system is the WIFI connectivity, allowing me to turn on the machine and pre-cool or pre-warm the living room before arriving home or getting up in a cool morning. With using the MI smart home hub, I can control the aircon by using voice or setting up scenes.

Not even worth 1 star. AC is dead and it's not even 12 months old. To top things off, Hisense AU support is useless – The unit seems underpowered for a 7.1kW unit (parents have a 6.0kW Fujitsu, which works way better in a bigger area). The unit is not even 12 months old, and the indoor unit is dead. At first, the Hisense support agent told me they'd send a replacement unit, but then after being placed on hold for 10 minutes, I was told no, the unit has to be repaired, and I need to wait three weeks before someone even attends to attempt to repair the unit.
I'll post an update to let everyone know how longs the repairs end up taking.
Now when I try to call their "Customer Support" number (1800 447 367), I get the telco recorded "This number is disconnected. Please check the number and try again".
