Holden Astra BK (Hatchback) R Auto (2016-2026)

I love it – Excellent car, after 150k Kilometers 0 problems. Even though its small 1.4L engine, it is powerful and efficient. I would get a brand new if Holden still in operation. All the services have been done in Holden, in all this time I have just changed the front break pads, battery still been the original. It is a really reliable car.

Unreliable – Car was serviced to book by previous owner, then same by myself. Engine died 3 months out of warranty due to now well known LSPI issue, thanks to poor calibration and construction. $3500 for engine rebuild. Oil spec change, bearing and piston change. Holden refused to help out. Now, a recall for an oil change and re-flash issued to cure “rough running” that resembles the exact same symptoms as when the number one piston broke due to LSPI. Worst car I’ve ever purchased.
