Where do I start.....
Ok lets look at some facts.
We own a late 2015 Holden Calais VF Series II that we are proud of. The car is almost ticking over 100k and has been serviced as per the service schedule. We also use either 95 or 98 Fuel in the car. In Mid December we took our vehicle to Metro Motors Morley Service department so as to allow them to diagnose a fault we suspected had something to do with the fuel system. Symptoms included a loss of power and extreme engine shunting. We were planning to drive the car from Western Australia to ...South Australia for the New Year with family and Friends. The service department took the vehicle and indicated that there would be a 160.00 diagnostic charge. This involves plugging the vehicles OBD port into their portable diagnostic tool to read fault codes and vehicle data as well as many other features. Considering that we have had some issues with fuel injectors previously (A Known Holden issue) and the vehicle is not considered old, we inquired if a fault is found that would not be considered normal wear and tear would we receive our diagnostic cost back. I'm Sure Morley Holden have heard this before and in particular the service manager. In Fact Morley Holden were so fixated on receiving their $160.00 fee that the conversation was more about that than diagnosis of a fault which we had brought the vehicle in for.
Total crap no worth to buy

Holden Service Center Penrith-- NEVER AGAIN!!!
Brought my car to Holden Service Center in Penrith, NSW due to a safety recall. The recall letter states: "The front indicator lights and rear indicators (if a trailer is towed) may not warn the vehicle operator if an indicator bulb is not operating. " Thus, the job at hand requires them to tinker underneath the dashboard.
When I got my car, full of trust and confidence, I did not bother checking the job that was done. The Manager gave the keys and I drove home. Parked the car inside the garage, as I normally do.
The following day, I noticed...that a vinyl trim underneath the dashboard was missing. I messaged the Service Center Manager about it. No reply. Rang the Service Center and was asked to go there because the Manager wanted to see what was missing with his own eyes. When I got there, the Manager asked the foreman to go and have a look of the missing trim. The foreman said he could not remember taking it off. And that was the end of it. Relying on the foreman's word, the Manager would not replace the missing trim. The Manager even had the audacity of insinuating that the trim was missing prior to the endorsement of my car, and I was trying to pull a fast one on them! Even though the missing trim was not that expensive, I learned a valuable lesson, that is, Penrith Holden Service Center is a place to steer clear from! Holden Service Center Penrith - NEVER AGAIN!!!
Car was taken in for a service and pick up the same day. Went to collect my car and front RHS wheel was faulty and couldn't be driven out of the car yard. Although I drove it into Cairns Ireland Holden. A few things needed doing like abs modulator replacement. I asked for everything to be fixed that needed doing while they had my car. Rang today Fri 10th Jan, asking if I could pick up my car car has been in since 23 Dec 2019. Told me I had no brakes, brake booster was needing replacement, yet they were willing to give my car back after original...service day. After telling them to fix what needed doing they still hadn't fixed everything i.e brake booster. Seriously Brakes musnt be a big deal?? You wonder if they are full of it, ripping you off or just don't know anything or lack any common sense. I mean which one do you wanna choose from... Why didn't any one ring me to tell me my brake booster was broken? The abs modulator situation was also handled very poorly by Holden. Didn't give me any part numbers, told me it needed to have traction control. My car does not have traction control, there are two part numbers on 2 different components of the abs modulator. I had to run around talking to people online about this to find out myself what was wrong and what was the correct modulator meaning no traction control and i.d part numbers my self. If you can help it NEVER take your car to Ireland Holden Cairns! Like ever. I'm never taking my car back there again. Mechanics are crap service was terrible no communication skills what so ever.
2020 Z71 the last Holden I will ever buy
The worst discussion I ever made was to update my 2017 model Z71 Colorado for a 2020 model, as the new one is a lemon. I have had problems with the rear doors indicating that they are open when locking the car and have opened and closed two or three times before the fault goes away. Then as I was washing my ute one day the drivers side rear door handle had a lot or movement in it, so took it back to my local dealer ( who I did not purchase though but is my closest Holden service center ) and was told that it is not a claimable repair and I shou...ld go back to where I purchased it from ( which is a 8 hour drive one way or 1600km round trip ). They told me that the damage may have happened during the delivery of the vehicle or that someone has lent on the door. (haha you know where this is going don't you). I am more than happy with the effort that the salesmen put into the deal there are no complaints there, I just think that Holden has dropped the ball .
NEVER BUY A HSV, worst decision ever. I just don’t want one
The work was completed and I was told the vehicle is both repaired and that there was no issues which makes no sense, the vehicle was given back and was told theirs no issues that our computers have shown (no error codes) and it’s had a software upgrade so I don’t know where you are getting your information from. The vehicle is a disaster and a disgrace to the hsv / Holden brand and the fact that your system doesn’t show the errors happening and I can show it clearly happening ( just like I did with my previous vehicle) Is a joke you need to fi...nd a way to find (error codes) and have your system be more specific with what is not working correctly. The vehicle has been in 10 times already and I’m on holidays with my family at the moment. so I’ll need Holden to take this matter very serious cause this vehicle isn’t safe has never been safe with its distractions and hasn’t been fixed from day one. So I’m sorry to say but you can’t begin to understand my frustration as I’ve been going through this unnecessary frustration with hsv/ Holden since 2014. Thank you and merry Christmas
Beware the we must diagnose the issue for $154 per hour at Alto Holden Artarmon
I went to Alto Holden Artarmon NSW and they told me it would cost $154 per hour for diagnosis of the issues.
I had reported that the display on the car indicated to "service steering column lock".
Their response was a drivers side door latch fault caused it.
Hmmm, what's the driver's door latch got to do with the steering column lock??
They said it was a known problem.
I brought my ve clubsport from Gardner holden in Perth and I live in South Australia. The blokes were great selling the car but from there on where hopeless. I got the car transported on truck and they offered too take my car there but we're 3 days late because they were "polishing" it which I was annoyed because they were late dropping off but I got over it. I went to pick my car up from Adelaide transport, saw it there had a Look at it I was happy but disspointed because it wasn't polished. The guy handed my keys too me and I looked at the ke...ys with a frown because the keys buttons were damaged. Started the car and I was happy but when I drove off the sun was in my eyes so I put the sun visor down the cover was broken And fell down on me, I went too intercate and the blickers blink too quick(which the do on both sides... left and right)... Mmm okay. Pull up down the road at a servo and recorded the exhaust because it's sounded lovely and I look at the exhaust the muffers exhausts boxes are missing so you can see the ground through back bumper, no ariel on car and I went through the whole car the driver seat is held together by a ZIPTIE and stero cuts out with the bass playing and comes up with DDL activate on it, I had my daughter in the car and she put the back windows down and I went too put them back up with switch and the back windows won't go back up unless you use the doors switch and the centre dash bit where the main switch is for window is broken so the 35grand clubsport I picked up from the transport company that costed 900 is a defectable car with illegal tyres on it and the left door was broken And won't shut. I meessaged Jason from Gardner autos and rang atleast 30 or 40 times for a whole month with no contact because the lady at the front office said he is busy I can leave a message!. He finally replied with sorry Chloe your emails went too junk I want too fix this asap, ring holdens In pirie too book a appointment with them. I rang pirie and told them everything that needs too be fixed and they were shocked a HOLDEN dealer would sell a car with so many issues and they told me they need approval from Jason too get these problems fixed. Holdens in pirie sent Jason emails and rang them for 3 weeks no contact. After pirie and I were trying too contact Jason I was about too give up and my mother rang and got hold him and told him it's not good enough as my daughter hasn't had a car being a single mother and can't drive her and her daughter anywhere. Jason finally contacted pirie by email and told them it will be approved too fix. Pirie rang me and told me I can bring the car in on Wednesday 2 weeks ago I told them I can't drive it anywhere because of the door not shutting. Jason has too organise a tow truck and pirie ended up organising it and Jason had a winge 300 was too experieve and the two guy had too go down in price. Jason didn't want too pay for a hire car for me so stuck with no car still. The tow truck came and took the clubby which I never thought I would see my dream car being towed away from me. Holden in pirie looked it over which only certain things got approved by Jason too be fixed on that wednesday I rang holdens in pirie on Monday which was yesterday and they said all been looked over and a quote which is $3200 for the two truck, labour, exhaust boxes left and right, the door hinge and window switch which isn't fixing the integrators etc. That quote got sent too Jason Wednesday and they have rang him and emailed and he hasn't replied. Yesterday I sent Jason a text and email and tired too ring and he is too busy for holden on pirie and me. He finally emailed holdens in pirie back and said go ahead with everything but the exhaust boxes which is disappointing because the exhaust is short as people would know what a exhaust would look like without their mufflers so it's burning my lovely back bumper. Today I got a phone call from holdens In pirie and they told me they can't realise my car too me till the illegal tyres that came with the car from HOLDEN dealer gets replaced. I am sitting here in anger and frustrating thinking how can this be happening when I brought my HSV from a holden dealer. I sent Jason a message by phone and email and got no reply. The hardest part is I haven't had a car for two months, I transferred the car into my name and had too put rego on it which all up was $1500 Brought new number plates for it which are 200 Paid 900 for transport too Adelaide and paid 250 in petrol for two cars too pick it up Paid 4200 for 5 years warranty I can't just send the car back too the dealer ship All the stress and money I haven't been able too enjoy my dream car. I am gutted

Castle Hill Holden - Poor service
Castle Hill Holden replaced the control arm bushes on my 2012 Captiva on Tuesday. When I picked it up the steering was off-centre by 10 degrees. When I complained I was told they did not touch the wheel alignment, so it must have been like that when I drove in. Absolute bull, and I am outraged that they accused me of lying. I have established, when worn control arm bushes are replaced, it causes the control arm centre point to change. If the alignment was done recently with worn bushes, the new bushes will cause an alignment issue. So, while C...astle Hill Holden did not change the alignment, surely when they test drove the car they would have noticed the alignment issue, and either done the adjustment or advise me that it needed to be done. But they chose rather to accuse me of lying. If this was the first issue with Castle Hill Holden, I might have let this one through to the keeper, BUT, in February 2019 they replaced my gearbox. Over several months I noticed the car was behaving in a strange way under acceleration. I asked my local mechanic to check it out. He found two bolts missing that hold the gearbox in position, causing the gearbox to pitch backward and forwards under acceleration. In addition, a bolt was missing on the brake line mounting. Probably quite dangerous!!! Castle Hill Holden replaced the bolts with zero explanation, and when I challenged them on Tuesday, it was a case of well we replaced the bolts what is your problem. It is not MY PROBLEM; it is THEIR PROBLEM and it is serious. They have twice released a car in an unsafe or at least unsatisfactory condition, and when challenged it is never their fault, and they definitely dont apologise for unprofessional workmanship. I appreciate Holden sales have fallen through the floor, and if Castle Hill Holden are allowed to continue operating like this, they will have no Holden customers sooner than expected.
Aggravated and disgusted
Took my in for a service at Windsor/McGraths hill Holden only to have it returned with a big dent and a scratch on the bonnet only to be told I had brought it in this way. Was told I could view the cctv footage to find out what happened, that was 5 weeks ago and still yet to see any evidence.
Poor after sales service
Had my colorado serviced last week they found a broken exaust bracket. This week I traveled 200km back to the dealer this to be told they ordered the wrong bracket. They orderd a bracket for a automatic car and I have a manual car.
Hard to understand how there would be a different exaust bracket on a automatic car to a manual car.
On the way back home car started over heating fan has come of front of engine.
Car has to be towed back to dealer for repair they are giving me a exuonox while my car is being repaired this means I can not tow anyt...
Incompetent and rude/arrogant staff
I’m writing this review to warn others about the poor service and outright arrogance of some of the service staff at McRae’s dealership in Wodonga. Our car was damaged and the service manager refused to take responsibility for what was clearly a lack of due skill and care on the part of one of his workers. The way my partner was spoken to was unacceptable. A call to Holden direct confirmed that the dealership had not acted with integrity. The issues were rectified but we were not offered a discount, nor an apology. Do yourself a favour and find another dealership. McRae’s is a disgrace. Now that we have shared our experience with family and friends, we have found that others have had poor experiences as well. Lesson learnt.
Eagers Holden Windsor Great Customer Service!!
Doing the rounds of the car yards in my area I immediately felt the difference at Eagers Windsor. Being greeted warmly by Maddie when we first came in set the tone for a professional experience. Matt was excellent, respectful and knowledgeable, he took me through the vehicles I was interested in thoroughly! This experience made Eagers stand out to me and a week later I was driving off in my Calais. I have felt really looked after by the team, including Jo in finance. Highly recommend Eagers Windsor and have felt very well looked after.

Poor customer service
Had to get a replacement part for my car. Spoke to reception, then waited to transfer me to the service department who took all the details then at the end said had to be transferred to the spare parts area to get a quote for the part. Another 10 minutes and with the part quote I am transferred back to service department who did not believe the price quote, so had to wait on phone while they confirmed the price. After 25 minutes, I finally was able to get a price to replace a part on my Holden. Very poor customer service.
Having travelled from Bathurst recently I had a problem with my captive engine light came on I had it serviced recently so was concerned I stopped in at holden dealer in clare sa they were very busy but fitted me in I was on my way shortly after get back service get personal would give this 10 stars if possible
Castle Hill Holden - Service Department
My 2019 Holden Colorado was due for its 12,000 service. I called to book it in, I mentioned three things on top of the scheduled service. 1) Navagation/maps needs an update as it’s not functioning correctly 2) Asked if they could order the nudge bar sensor wire loom so that the front sensors could be connected 3) I mentioned that occasionally the car doesn’t go into reverse instead revs out in stationary position. The customer service person was polite and friendly, stating that she would ensure the wire loom was ordered and ready to be install...ed and notes have been written with my booking. Day of scheduled service- I arrive 9am, I ask about navagation /maps and wire loom. The young lady on the front desk tells me “Sorry sir but we don’t have the map update on site it’s something that needs to be ordered in, so you will have to come back another day, and I will get the workshop to check which wire loom your car needs and I will give you a call with a quote” . 1:10pm I call the service centre to check progress on my car. I get told “ Sir your car is in the workshop it shouldn’t be much longer, we will call you as soon as it is finished”. 2:00pm I get my wife to drop me off at the service centre as I’m happy to wait the short time. Upon my arrival, I see my car parked out the front of the centre so I’m thinking happy days my car is ready. I take a seat and wait for 15minutes before approaching the young lady at the front desk. The front Lady goes back into the work shop and came back in two minutes later walking herself straight into the managers office before coming back out to update me. “Sir I’m really sorry but your car isn’t ready we are still waiting for parts, the wire loom for the front sensors is coming from Melbourne and won’t be here till 3pm then the workshop will have to install it. I then express my disappointment telling her that this simply is not at all food enough, with the lady going on to tell me that she is sorry she stuffed up by not calling me today and that the person that booked my car in didn’t know that the service centre don’t have the navigation update on site. As I write this review I sit patiently in the service centre watching the service centre admin team chilled out appearing to enjoy there slow Wednesday afternoon. I note there is only one other person now seated in the waiting area for their car to be completed, I hope they are having a better experience then I am.

Questions & Answers
I bought a brand new LTZ Colorado picked up on 29/07 /2019 I have been having clunking and shuddering
from the auto transmission, I took it back to the holden dealer and am told I need a new torque converter
which I now am been given the run-a-round about not being able to get one can you please answer my question!!! WHY?
I have a 2017 Colarado and tow a 3 ton caravan with it. While travelling thru Norseman WA (ambient temp was above 40c)last week I noticed the Transmission temp rise to 106C which caused the engine coolant temp to rise well above the half way mark on the gauge and are wondering if this is normal operating temp zones or is there something wrong with my vehicle?
If my 2018 Astra is due for its first 9month /15000 km $249 capped price service which includes FREE battery check, why do they want to charge $33 for an electronic brake check & wheel alignment check ? The car has done 10 000 km.
Sounds like a fast food franchise upsell - " Do you want fries with that ? "
