Overpriced service
South Morang Holden quoted me 'about $40' to replace ONE brake-light globe in the 2017 Astra I bought from them in 2023. To ensure warranty, I took it them only to be charged $57.70!! $32 labour (for a 5 min job) and $20.45 for ONE globe (RRP $16.60 in a pkt of 2). After 3 emails requesting an explanation I finally received a phone-call saying they 'stood by their charge.' Next time I'll use my local mechanic. Show detailsDisgusting Service!!!
Absolutely useless and quite frankly, disgusting customer service. Husband and I attended Mandurah Holden this afternoon, with pre-approval already obtained to purchase a vehicle. Despite this, and the fact that we attended at 5.15pm - the salesman in the yard refused to show us the car (or even discuss a sale), due to "the bollards already being up and we leave at 5.30pm".Husband and I even explained that we both work full time up in North Perth (takes over an hour, in peak hour traffic, to get to Mandurah). Holden Mandurah just lost a guaranteed sale! Fools! Show detailsAppalling service and customer care
11/04/2022. My car would not start from my garage and called RACV Road assists. Upon checking and sticking one of their testing equipment, he could not find a fault and recommended to have it towed to the nearest service place. Kevin Dennis serviced my car from day 1, so arranged for a tow truck to deliver. After a few days, they come with a quotation of over a thousand and I said go ahead. 4 days later, they apparently found that all injectors needed replacing and will costs nearly $6000.00. I was in shock to find that I don't have issue with ... Read morethe car until that morning and also made a booking for service in a couple of weeks for normal service before the issue. Also, there's no indication that something of that magnitude will happen overnight, especially inside my garage. 4 weeks later, I got told the car is ready. Come over pay the bill and pick up the car. When I start the car in their premises, 'fuel light comes on' meaning, a warning that fuel will soon needed. Come back to the concerned guy only to be told I will be alright to drive to the nearest petrol station to fill up. That's where I cracked up. I told them, I spend nearly $6000.00 and they did not even fill up the car with $10 diesel as they have their own tank there? Especially, my cars issue was fuel injectors. Anyway, I am upset but no choice but to leave and fill up to the nearest station. 2 weeks later my car is having issue again, bring it back and what they found is apparently there is water in the tank that they found that cause the issue and told them, the car have travelled 300kms after the service without problem until now. Worsts, they said the injectors they installed are out of warranty because of the water issue. I just could not believed it. I don't have control with the fuel I am buying and now..no warranty. I think they try to get away from their responsibility. Never again with Kevin Dennis. I always have issues with them from day 1 (Customer service, job is not done well like just serviced but upon checking, the oil is as filthy as before. Next, as I don't trust them anymore, I DIY changing engine oil only to find they must have their apprentice tighten the oil cover with a rattle gun and would not budge at all and had to use a breaker bar to undo it wherein this cover is meant to tighten to certain torque as there is rubber seal to it. (Btw, I am an old school mechanic petrol/diesel but can afford to get my car service as I can afford now. But I am no novice to new system, even the computer side of it) I am yet to find a trustworthy and knowledgeable mechanics in my 40 years in Australia. I have some idea about mechanic ripping people off and they are real over 50% at any one time, or maybe more.Good deal
I recently purchased a used Holden Calais from Steinborners in Gawler and must say how pleased I am with the whole deal. I am not the easiest person to sell a used car to, but the salesman, Steve, made things easy, he is a very knowledgeable, experienced and patient person to deal with. The car had been expertly detailed and serviced. A couple of small issues were dealt with immediately, no quibbles or excuses.Genuine Holden Servicing Werribee (The Motor Place)
I took my vehicle for regular servicing, the vehicle and no issues and after servicing was completed. The vehicle was collected and after driving for a number of days it started overheating. I reported the issue and wanted to know why because the vehicle had similar problem after previous servicing. After checks I was told that fan relay cable is damaged and there is a back order. The questions remain why this issue has presented immediately after TWO consecutive regular servicing? This vehicle is under warranty, and they can't give a loan car.... Read more The vehicle is still with them, and it has been more than a week of excuses. Case manager John states Holden GM can't secure a loan car as they wait for parts to come from USA. Al I am getting is excuses. 1. I do not trust the servicing process. 2. NO customer care at all from Holden GM.
Can’t give a lower score
The Holden Service department where I was servicing my car had no customer service and no accountability. Holden head office staff are so rude, arrogant and nasty, everything was always in the too hard basket and their cop out was to always blame the customer for any issues. They have lost me as a customer after being loyal all my life to this brand. Holden have lost the essence of what Holden used to be ….A VERY DISAPPOINTED AND ANGRY FORMER CUSTOMER………. My nine-year-old Holden Trax LS 1.8 six speed Auto (purchased new in 2014) commenced running rough and shuddered on a small upward climb on a suburban street. One dealership wanted my vehicle all day and an advance payment of $150 to establish the problem.
A RACQ technician diagnosed the problem as a faulty PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve.
Inquiries to purchase a PCV revealed their availability for most vehicles in USA but they are NOT sold in Australia.
The General Motors designed Trax was made in Korea. The PCV was inbuilt i... Read more
nto the valve rocker cover. Inquiries from one Holden Dealerships advised the cost of A GENUINE GM PART was $745.86 plus GST c $67.80 – Total $813.66 + LABOUR and $782 from the second dealer ( no doubt + GST and Labour) Internet inquiries revealed “Parts Factory” located on the Queensland Gold Coast sold an after market identical product for $118.30 Including GST and Free delivery. Wilkies Auto Centre on Bribie Island fitted the part in under 30 minutes. I cannot find any difference in the original part removed and the after market part fitted apart from some numbers stamped into both products and therefore cannot justify an excess of $627 [$745 - $118 = $627] A copy of this report was sent to the ACCC today, 22 March, 2023. Had a good experience with Holden serving in Mandurah WA today (so good decided to write) not only did get great customer service experience but some money saving work done, in that Holden could of replaced a faulty unit costing $450 but instead cleaned/repaired the old unit instead and also told us to put off the due timing belt as they could monitor it next service saving us some big money .... and we had a courtesy pick up to boot. I brought a Holden equinox 2018 model 8 weeks ago it broke down since then I’ve needed a new exhaust cam sensor, vac pump which broke and metal has now gone through the engine. I need a new engine or new car I’ve been told by Holden. I’ve been told that Holden and titan ford won’t help me at all to rectify this I can’t believe a 4 year old car has this many issues. I cannot afford a new car or engine with inflation and Covid as a mum of three I’m really not happy with Holden and their lack of empathy towards my circumstance. I will never be buying a Holden again and will be letting friends and family know what’s happened to steer them clear of buying a Holden! Show detailsHolden's horrendous customer service
We have a 2016 Cruze thats done about 40,000 km and we've had to replace the cylinder head and all these other things that have cost us thousands and Holden are not interested in upholding their consumer law requirements to rectify faulty and unsafe products they've sold. Very unethical. Stay away. Show detailsDo Not Take Your Vehicle To Holden For Service And Repairs
Nonstop issues with the vehicle since point of purchase 2018 (NOTE: this is the 2nd Barina I have owned and it was a replacement of the first lemon).* Warranty issues repeatedly refused to be repaired under warranty, had to argue every single issue with both vehicles before they were accepted, seems standard for Holden to just blanket refuse everything in hope that you won’t dispute, ultimately saving them money.
* Refusal to repair items that are well documented known issues/faults, some of which were already previously repaired under warrant... Read morey, citing there was no warranty on the vehicle for years (because they didn’t actually even look). * Multiple prices quoted for repairs and parts by different team members, sometimes quoting in excess of $1000, then dropping to $200 when pressed on why and for what and in several cases to be shown of provided with the removed part, especially considering previous warranty issues and reports. * Refusal to provide copies of Warranty documents since point of purchase, despite warranty and extended warranty being part of the vehicle purchase from Holden Footscray. * Refusal to provide a full copy of service and repair history since first requested over a year ago and then after MULTIPLE requests via email over the last 6 months too direct staff and generic service email. * 2 PAID repairs for leaking coolant issue when the coolant is STILL LEAKING and was immediately after BOTH “REPAIRS” (it never stopped and is apparently a known issue according to multiple people I’ve been in contact with). * CONSTANT reporting of known issue with transmission including but not limited to; gears holding/not changing, vehicle revving, shuddering, issues with coil packs where it’s like the car is going to stall and significant vibrating dismissed (citing could not replicate but without test driving) and on several occasions not even test driven as they advised they had, as KM on vehicle had only changed to the next KM when collected (photographed). ISSUES STILL PRESENT! * Not including all reported issues in the service/document and just ignoring me when I asked for them to be added/amended, acting like I’m being a pain and THIS IS EXACTLY WHY YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THEY DOCUMENT ALL ISSUES AND PROPERLY! * Patronised and spoken down to by male staff like I’m an incompetent and don’t have a clue about the lemon of a vehicle I purchased, what issues were repaired under warranty and what known issues are! *Written confirmation regarding items reported in warranty not accepted, citing “we don’t have to repair things just because they’re reported in warranty” but isn’t that the purpose of a parts and labour WARRANTY????? It’s not called “Whatever Holden agrees to fix to placate you and make you go away warranty”. * Reimbursement for vehicle hire not accepted, despite the fact that I have a disability, am unable to walk and Holden said I could not drive the vehicle because of a known fault with the mount that was reported under warranty previously and not repaired. Was I meant to just roll around on the floor for 4 days whilst I waited because you said I couldn’t drive? * Repeated refusal by Holden Customer Service to respond to each item with reasoning, citing a blanket no for all issues (not even aware of one of them that they were responding to and without having information/history)…. Good job there David. * Refusal to be provided with customer service phone recordings or to put me in contact with legal team or IT department to obtain them, then telling me I can’t use my own recordings (despite right to privacy being waived when they advise they’re recording). * Asked for postal details of where to serve VCAT documentation and would only advise an email, despite an address being required for the service by registered post. I have been dealing with this non-stop since my first holden 1er4xw and its been never ending, now im I have to take this to vcat and its going to waste hours and hours of everyone's time to do applications, summaries or proof, attendance etc. Thank god there are no more Holdens but maybe consider taking your vehicle elsewhere to get serviced!
Holden rip off
I've had my car camera changed 3 times . Only got the third camera installed recently 21.11.2022.Head office would not support my claims . Believed Liverpool Holden report full of lies charged me for a new camera. I should have had warranty but no one could supply it therefore I strongly believe I was ripped off . They never changed it just charged me for it . I will supply all my supporting documents to Department of Fairtrading Show details
Absolute disgrace Shane on you
Central coast HoldenWhat a bunch of rip off merchants..
They make mistakes on every service I e had and then want to charge you trade price to fix them.
They also then lost my log book blamed it on me after six months ring me say they have found it and want to charge me courier cost to get it to me..
They let me drive off with 1 mm of brake pads from a service and then when I ground down my rotors they made me drive back to the dealer ship ,, I could have had a bad accident and then wanted to charge me for new rotors as they had no brake pads on the last service..
oh but we would have told you they said ..
The worst experience of my life with someone I bought a hsv from.
An absolute disgrace and apparently nothing can be done Show details
Essendon Holden - Rip Off
Took the car in for an orange engine light showing. Told them the error code P1101, they spent 2 hours to identify the error. ($340 labour to do this). Then got a message it would cost $910 to replace the part and rectify the issue. They claim the part cost around $600 and the rest of the cost is for more labour to fix. Total $1,250.92, after I questioned the cost they kindly gave me 10% discount. (Still $1,125). I have had Holdens all my driving life (50 years) but will never get another. So much for looking after loyal customers. My advice is keep away from this dealership and research other make cars. Show detailsGood riddance to bad rubbish
Edit: be aware, the dealerships are still operating, but are now MG. Same sh*t dealerships same rip offs.I purchased a new Colorado NBT (nothing but trouble), & what a journey of pain & torture it has been. Blown turbo's, multiple torque converters, glitchy computer touch screen, it rains on the inside during storms & the fake leather seats have disintigrated....not bad for a 3 year old car. ng to claim on the extended warranty, these guys are masters at evasion, ducking & weaving, anything but honour the extended warranty. Further, the 'capped price servicing' is one big smoke & mirrors sham...it's just an oil change, that's it. If you want your vehicle actually serviced properly, then it costs an eye-watering amount. As I spend way to much time fighting Holden through ACCC, at least I can console myself in knowing now that they have folded, they can no longer rip off the Australian public by churning out cheap nasty crap & gimmicky after sales rip offs.
