Worse Car I've ever owned – the cooling system, has been replaced twice, the oil cooler replaced, and again now the coolant is leaking everywhere, already cost me over $3,000 this is the most unreliable car I have owned and I would never recommend buying one, and the warranty never covers what goes wrong surprise surprise

Not too bad – Bought this second hand and it was a pretty good little car. It only had around 28000 ks on it. The good: Really zippy, it goes! No worries about overtaking this. The seats are comfy, with the added bonus of having them heated. The back seats folded down to almost flat which was a bonus. The electric windows also work for a little while after the… Read more

ignition has been turned off Storage is great...little hidey holes like in the dash and a draw under the passenger seat. The not so good: The usb charger port is in the glovebox, which has to stay open if you use your phone as a map. Don't expect a lot of tech or features like lane assist etc... it doesnt have any of that. It had special tyres, you were very limited in tyre choice. The ones I had were about $300 each. However the spare tyre is a full size. The ugly: after owning the car for about 2 years I noticed bubbling paint on the tailgate. It flaked and got worse and worse...it flaked on the bonnet and the pillars. Upon researching, it seems these cars have terrible paint problems! Luckily Holden agreed to fix the flawed areas under warranty. The WORST part about this car is that it has NO temperature gauge!! I was driving along in summer when the aircon went hot, then the car started screaming at me so I pulled over. The engine was sizzling. There had been a slow coolant leak. So the engine almost blows up and you get 0 warning that there's something wrong!! After this episode the car sounded terrible, so I decided to move it on. Much to the delight of my mechanic... they absolutely hate working on Trax cars. Plus, they're not Holden. They're a Chevy motor and Daewoo body. In conclusion, it could have been an awesome car if they had just spent a bit more on those simple small things.

A Daewoo in GM Clothing. Avoid Like The Plague – We bought this 2017 top of the range LTZ new in November 2018 and it has been well maintained and serviced. My wife travels about 450 kms a week in her role doing home care for the aged. The reason we buy her new cars every 5 years for reliability and backup service. All went ok for the first 3 years and then the trouble started. At 70,000kms… Read more

the turbo blew and Holden gave us all sorts of grief for weeks to get them to cover their warranty. Even insisting we get a letter from our mechanic as to what oil was used in the car. The car was serviced as per log book and we actually use better quality oil than the Castrol rubbish Holden had in it. The finally fixed int after knowing they had no leg to stand on trying to blame everything but their car for the issues.

Now at 90,000km the car overheated and became undriveable. At this point when booking it in yet again for warranty work Holden said there was no places could even inspect it for 9 weeks. Note my wife's work and it is her only car. So we took it to get fixed and communicated with Holden customer care to pay for it due to their unreasonable wait times just to even find the problem. $1000 Holden refused to pay even though they couldn't fix it in a reasonable time frame. 7 weeks later we are back to square one again now with the car overheating again. It has had a new water pump, new thermostat, new coolant bottle and cap and a couple of there new parts. But alas. Still overheating. I also discovered they had even left a lot of important parts not even bolted on correctly after the turbo replacement. It is going into tomorrow for assessment by a cooling specialist. Fingers crossed we don't have to throw more thousands at it.

After much research about these lemons I discovered they are Daewoo with GM Badging across their various brands and through American Forums I have heard so many similar horror stories about unreliability and longevity. A very typical Daewoo.

6 years and going Strong – Our Trax does not do a lot of miles but after 6 ears it still has a new car feeling about it. Interior is like new and everything works. Paint is still shinny (Like New). I do not get it serviced at Holden as I have a brilliant mechanic. He advised and I would advise everyone who has one that"s done 50000K to get the automatic transmission fluid… Read more

changed. Mine was filthy at 50000K. Took three changes for the oil to clear up. Rotten sealed units. Cannot service the auto and they die. Expensive fix. Otherwise all goog

Love this car! – I purchased my vehicle for driving to and from work in the Sydney traffic. It's fantastic for a daily commuter. I use it every day and spend $60-80 a fortnight in fuel. Not an issue at all in 2.5 years. Car is perfect. Would recommend. Only gripe I have is the carpet is so thin everything gets stuck in it making it hard to maintain. Show details

Excellent SUV. Great size ! – Bought Holden Trax LTZ 2017. Over 40,000 Kims later not 1 problem. Free servicing to 60,000. Then fixed price. Drives very well, great features. Apple car play. Bluetooth. Well appointed and easy to drive. Not overpriced like a lot if small mid SUVs. Plenty of power for city driving and country trips. Serviced regularly by Holden. Daily driver… Read more

Happy with our Trax! – So far so good, it’s what we expect from a new car. It’s perfect for Sydney traffic and love all the LTZ has to offer. I read that Trax is one of the most reliable car in the USA, hopefully that’s true! Overall it’s fun car to drive with a punchy engine!  Show details

Let down by Holden Customer Service – Great Car to drive , arm rest for the driver is great but the seat could probably be a little softer .Good petrol economy on a trip and not bad around town .Unfortunately it only runs on premium unleaded which is 10 -15% dearer , so you don't really get the value. Unfortunately I am having continuous issues with the infotainment unit and holden… Read more

customer service are passing the buck to the app provider.

The issues are 1/ overheating of the phone with consistent use - app developer has admitted this is a problem and there is no fix as yet

2/ "No GPS" signal error comes up on the screen ,when all the other apps on the phone that use the GPS part still work -apple maps google maps , waze etc

3/ GPS screen freezing intermittantly

With the demise of Pandora I was told I could use Spotify - wrong ! - Then the GPS won't work at all

It is not good enough to blame issues on and app provider

Note-The problems have occurred with2 different iPhones so I don't think the phone is the problem .(Also apple can't find fault with phone )

I would just like a bit of help from customer service to resolve the problem

Perfect little big car – I wanted a bigger car then the one i had, this car is a perfect mix of big and little, not too huge in terms of width but a bit taller and more grunt than most small cars. Great fuel efficiency however, computer states oil life has deteriorated quicker than i would have thought.  Show details

Perfect and great value – Had this car for just over 3 months. Just love it. Its motor is small but has all the zip needed to drive around town or on the highway. many great features that cars of this level don't have. For a small SUV it has a lot of room inside. The head room is more than enough. Compared with other cars of the same size it has more height inside.  Show details

I'm in love – I brought my 2016 1.4L Turbo Trax 8 months ago. I absolutely love it. I have driven 42 hours this week and it did not miss a beat. The turbo is great for over taking - You do need to use Premium Unleaded Fuel however, I think this is the best choice with any new car. Value for money. The heated leather seats are great in Winter. back seats down and slept in the car with a single mattress, blanket & pillow while camping. I love the height of the car and how simple it is to drive. Great speakers, I love loud music but I can never have it all on full board in this car. Despite buying the Trax second hand, Holden still caps my service price which is cheap & easy. The only flaw I have of this car is boot space as my partner loves golf but the boot is not large enough to fit clubs. All models come with a reverse camera which beeps if you are getting to close to anything. I would recommend this car to anyone!

Great value compact SUV – I have had my Trax for almost six months and am generally very happy with it overall. The Blind spit alert is probably my favourite feature, which comes in the Ltz model and the heated faux leather seats in winter were nice. I wish it had front sensor alerts like my previous car (VW) which is the only thing I miss from my VW, and maybe a little more power. Turbo is great on the highway for overtaking.  Show details

Great Car – My new Holden Trax LTZ is fantastic. It's very economical, comfortable to drive and I love all the extra options included such as the keyless entry. It's very handy when I have a handful of groceries I don't have to fuss around and look for my keys, the remote access is great. The heated seats and sunroof are also an added luxury for a $30,000 car. Highly recommend.  Show details

Great car – We purchased a second- hand Trax (Turbo) and have been driving it for 8 months now and it's the best car I've ever driven in the 50 years I've had my licence. It's a little bit heavy on the fuel but it handles really well, has enough power when needed and provides sufficient leg room. The only down side is that the seats are bit too firm for me but otherwise it's a great car.  Show details

media device _ NOT HAPPY – Vey disappointed at the lack of support shown by Holden after Pandora ceased operating. As a consumer I am extremely disappointed. I purchased a new LTZ Turbo Trax 2016, which was at significant cost to me, I also opted to get the top of the range, as this was to be the car that would allow me to have many years of hassle free driving. the advertised selling points was the MY car entertainment system. While I’m aware that your company had no control over the demise of Pandora, NEITHER DID I, and I don’t believe I should be left disadvantaged and without the ability to use a function in a car that was advertised and that I purchased in good faith. As the media device does not allow you to use Iphone without Bluetooth (except for Pandora), the data cable has to be connected. This means that you are not able to have Sat Nav and music (or USB) at the same time only the Radio!!!!

One of the best cars I've had – I flog this car, it's done 80,000ks all over NSW in two years. Never misses a beat It still has its original brake pads! Cheap to service & run. Holden servicing is first rate. The other thing I like is it has good radio reception, I can still pick up 2gb in Dubbo. It has a good heating & cooling system. Plenty of room on the inside, front leg room is massive. It's a totally underrated car. I can't fault it.  Show details

Best for dog travel !! – I love my LTZ Trax it is the best to travel with my Hounds and they are safe because the seats block the gap that is usually there between the front sets and the back ones . Great SUV - Highly recommended – When I looked around for a smaller SUV, I whittled it down to 3 brands. Holden Renault & Subaru. I took into consideration value for money, all round quality and performance. The HOLDEN TRAX won the prize by a mile. This is a highly under rated vehicle. I am so happy with it, and I was told it won a Euro car of the year with a different badge. No wonder, its got the works.  Show details

Heaps of Problems! – My Holden Trax LTZ purchased new in 2014 experiences a variety of Problems that Holden continue to ignore! Firstly my Trax has had multiple flat batteries despite the vehicle being off - NRMA has had to come to my rescue a few times! Secondly a whining noise in the cabin when accelerating always presents itself (Holden refuse to accept the issue… Read more

as legitimate), thirdly I get a ridiculously little amount of Power when AC is on! My Trax also had faulty leather which took over 3 months to get replaced under warranty, key gets jammed in the ignition, reverse camera regularly fails and requests service, plus the lights on my gears get very very hot! Seatbelt buckles in the back fall in the seats forcing me to remove Baby seat to lift chairs to put back in place! Holden refuses this is the issue of the car and blames faults on driver - this was the first and last Holden I will own! Never will I purchase another LEMON of a car again!

Neat, nimble, nearly perfect – I chose the 1.8L normally aspirated engine when buying my new Trax last October. So far I'm quite happy with it - love the ease of stepping into and out of it, and the ability to lay the rear seats down flat. It's zippy around town, with very light steering and a good turning circle. And very cheap to run, especially with the lifetime free… Read more

servicing which means the 9 month recommended intervals don't impact the hip pocket.

Pros: reversing camera is brilliant and I like the "pleather" seats. Dashboard is clear and easy to read.

Cons: no CD player. I miss my CD player. If I want to listen to music I have to burn my CDs to my PC and then load onto a USB stick. Not cool, Holden. Also the moisture sensing windscreen wipers, while a positive attribute, have one drawback - there's around a 3-second delay in the sensors. Not a problem, or so you'd think - unless you're driving along a motorway in a typical Queensland downpour and you go under a bridge. Within three seconds of the windscreen being momentarily clear, the wipers turn themselves off - just as you're exiting the underpass and coming back out into the deluge. And then it's another three seconds of white-knuckled blindness before they turn themselves back on.

Best small SUV – We bought a Trax in December 2015 as a 2nd family car and couldn't be happier, it is fun, zippy around town, economical and very versatile. The drive is very good, feels like a more expensive car to drive, and the build quality can't fault. Overall we are very satisfied with our purchase. Highly recommended.  Show details

Holden Trax - Good Value for Money – Purchased an LTZ Trax new a few weeks ago and feel that it is good value for money and great for a young family as a second car. It would be OK for a young family if only one car was needed, however cargo space may be an issue for family stays extending past a couple of nights. The interior is somewhat typical of small cars in the more… Read more ·  3

economical price region, full of hard plastics but comfortable where needed. For us, with two children under 5 the hard plastics are a good thing as they clean easily and and somewhat resistant to scuffing. The seats are very comfortable and are made from a synthetic leather which doesn't attract the maintainence of leather and won't crack over time. The rear seats fold down for a generous cargo area and rear passanger room was acceptable, however 6FT + heights may find it uncomfortable on longer trips. Front seats are heated and vision is very good from the 'higher' driving position.

The ICE is brilliant. Holden are onto a good thing with the Mylink touch screen which almost operates like a tablet. You can load apps and an integrated USB port allows you to listen to music, view photos and play movies. Load navigation on for $70, which is a great alternative to the windscreen mount or obsurd prices that you previously had to pay for built in navigation.

The engine is not as bad as some will have you believe. It really does go quite well, the 1.8L in the Trax backed with the 6 speed auto has no issues with accellerating to 100k's coming on to a motorway or getting through the city traffic. So far average fuel consumption is 8L /100K's however the engine only has 800k's on it and will get better as it wears in. Manual shift is provided also for hill climbs. Slope descent is also featured which offers engine braking to assist with descents and stop overheating the brakes. If the 1.8 iti Turbo from the Cruze was offered as an option, this car would be a superb performer.

The ride from the 18" wheels and brilliant Continental tyres is superb. Comfortable and quite, the longer trips won't leave you feeling exhausted. Holden engineers have tuned this to suit our roads perfectly, which is different to the other imported models that are basically a 'one setting fits all corners of the globe' ie; Toyota's Rav4.

The only complaints I have are the drum brake rear end, no front proximity sensors and trip computer functions.

Surely a disc rear end would not have added too much cost to the vehicle being that we forked out on the higher spec model anyway.

Equipping the car with a rear view camera and proximity sensors is great, however it can be hard to judge the position of the front end to obstructions. Even as a option, this would be of benefit.

The trip computer is basic, but could do with added features like instant fuel useage instead of the digital compass.

All in all for the money we paid, $29,500 driveaway (RRP is approx $32K), its a great little car. Capped price servicing at $185 for three years (service every 9 months) ensures that your not going to be paying through the nose for maintainence either. Value for Money. Tuned for Aussie roads. Performs well Drum brake rear end, no front proximity sensors and lack of trip computer functions
