Absolute rubbish for a hose. Supposedly good for up to 1200 kpa (our water pressure is 700kpa max), claims to be UV stabilised and has a 6 year warranty. It certainly isn't the cheapest of the brands though and we expected better from a Holman… Read more

product..

UNFORTUNATELY we threw the receipt out (inadvertently) as we have never had hose issues like this before - even on some of the cheap(er) stuff we have purchased in the past from other suppliers.

The hose lasted all of 2 weeks with fairly regular use and seems to start to swell badly (about a third bigger) when under pressure - especially if pressurised on a warm day for long periods. This then results in leaks at the fittings, slipping out of the fittings or expanding and splitting the fitting completely.

On seeing other reviews (after the issues) it appears that others have found it to be of a poor quality that warrants a return.

Follow-up  · Note: Fittings were the standard garden hose "slip on, tighten, quick connect" style and came complete with the hose from manufacturer. Trying good quality after market brass style quick connect fittings made no difference - hose still expanded badly and blew out of the fittings. Day temperatures were not extreme and were from 8 to 24 degrees C… Read more

Unfortunately the retractable hose mechanism has broken despite minimal use. I have been in contact directly with Holman who initially stated they would replace it in good faith, but then changed their mind. Too bad I also bought another one at the same time thinking they were good, so I am expecting it to break as well. This is a rubbish product and would NEVER buy again. So disappointing. Show details

I got this Holman hose from bunnings and it changed to a darkened colour. The yellow stripe going through the middle of the hose got dark. I went back to bunnings to swap it for a new one or get an exchange voucher and the person at bunnings refused to. It also has 6 years warranty which is a lie.

Poor quality hose – Very heavy, constantly kinks and bulges at the ends when water isn’t turned off immediately at the tap. I’m extremely disappointed at the poor quality of the hose. My expectation for this Aussie made hose was high but sadly i don’t recommend it. Show details

Why are they allowed to sell this rubbish? – I have 4 manual reels and one electric one. All of the manual ones failed just outside the warranty period, none of them would retract fully and were prone to kinking. They were all badly affected by sunshine. I had thought to get some old fashioned manually operated reels and reuse the hoses but the hose quality is not good, a little bit of… Read more

sunshine and the hoses split and break away from nozzles. The electrically operated one had a new battery after 13 months and at 18 months it was so degraded by the sun that the case was partly open and the mounting points failed so that the hose reel lay on the ground (it has since failed irreparably). They are not suitable for Australian conditions. My best advice is to save your money, buy manual reels in metal (Guaranteed to work and not be affected by sunshine) and good quality hoses. What I got for several hundred dollars was disappointment, frustration and an overwhelming urge never to buy anything with Holman written on it ever again. (BTW their customer service is nothing to get excited about either).

Terrible quality. Split on first use. Returning it to Bunnings – Shocking quality, hose split twice on first use. It also kinks so easily and when un-kinking it you can hear the reinforcement material tear and the hose starts bulging creating weak points where it splits. The click lock hose connector also fell apart on first use. There must be zero quality control on Holman products, if there was they would see immediately that they have made an incredibly inferior product.  Show details

Poor Performer! – Supposed to be kink resistant. On the contrary, in colder weather at around 18 degrees, the hose goes stiff and difficult to unwind and lay flat. In cold weather the hose goes brittle and breaks apart. In the warmer weather, the hose goes soft and kinks easily. Where is the hose kink resistant? I should have learnt my lesson buying Holman products, having bought two tap timers that cracked within 6 months of use. Show details

Packaging advertise as 7/10 kink resistance. Rubbish. First time I rolled out it kinked in 3 places. It now has a memory and kinks in those places when using. Very frustrating as 30m hose, so have to back up and untangle. Have tried laying it in sun. Kink places have clear hose quality flaws. Wouldn't buy Holman products again. Show details

Rubbish hose – Absolute rubbish. Holman should be prosecuted for false advertising . Touted as a kink free hose when in fact it acts like awet noodle. Cannot be used without kinking. I will never buy another Holman product. Show details

Rubnish – Wish I read the reviews before purchasing. The hose itself hasn't been too bad, bit the connector head is so bad. Every sprinkler, or Weed n Feed bottle it just gushes water out everywhere. No matter how hard and tight you have it. I suppose you do get what you pay for.

Worst hose ever – If I could give zero stars I would. Bought a 30 MTR Holman hose from Bunnings. Didn't keep receipt. All I can say it's a load of crap. Should have stuck with nylex. The whole hose has expanded and the ends at fittings I have to keep cutting off and reattaching fittings as it blows up like a balloon and bursts. Holam should be ashamed for producing… Read more

Worse hose ever – The Holman 12mm x30m hose has to be the worst hose I’ve ever bought and I thought I’d pay a bit more to get a decent quality hose but ever time I use it it kink’s in multiple places I always straighten out the hose before rolling up the hose but it doesn’t matter what I do it always kink’s when trying to use it. Worst garden hose ever – This holman garden hose is the most useless hose I've ever used. I have spent more time undoing kinks in it than actually watering anything. They should refund anyone that ever bought one. Crap product! Show details

Holmans utter contempt for customers – After 3 years of nothing but scathing reviews this garbage is still being made and sold to unsuspecting customers. the stated 7/10 kink resistance is false and a lie, would not rate one star its that bad. The fitting that came on the hose were useless, nozzles and sprinklers just shot off when water turned on. Replaced them with new holman fitting… Read more

that were just as bad, replaced with Gardena fittings. I, like so many customers who made the mistake of buying this hose will never buy another Holman product again. When you produce garbage, you name becomes synonymous with garbage. Speaks volumes about Holmans ethics by continuing to sell rubbish not fit for purpose. Pity I lost the receipt, so instead of taking back for refund it will now go in the bin.

The kink master – Holman should take their name off it. Every time I pick it up, I see the name Holman, and then proceed to dekink it. What a pile of crap. I'd be reluctant to buy anything else with their name on it after buying this garbage. Show details

Still on sale after THREE YEARS of complaint – Having bought one of these hoses over two years ago and watch it snap in half like uncooked spaghetti in cold weather, I am surprised that this hose is still being sold. fittings if possible and put H*s*l*nk fittings on. Worth the extra expense and they don’t burst off! I should add that their seems to be a stock response from Holman that you should buy the Australian made Holman hose from not Bunnings. The Holman hose sold in Bunnings is manufactured in China and made for Bunnings. Despite all the negative comments from users, it’s still being sold with the Holman name on it!!

Worst hose I have ever bought – This hose is the worst hose I have ever encountered. I bought it in particular as it boasted anti kink features. I used it the same day I bought it from Bunnings. It constantly kinked and the hose connection blew off. A most frustrating and disappointing experience. Luckily I still have my receipt, but annoying that I now need another visit to… Read more

Worst Hose Ever – I bought the 30m Holman hose from bunnings and have had nothing but crap from it. Has more kinks in it than my 90 year old granddads back and leaks twice as much than he does too! nozzle end. All I want to do is water my dam veges and grass without constantly walking back and forth fixing these piece of crap fittings!

I know this may seem harsh but God dam it, this is so frustrating and I really dont think it would be that hard of an issue to fix by a simple fitting upgrade and as for the kink issues, well im not going to babble on about it other than it is blatant false advertising to say it has a "8 kink resistance ". Absolute rubbish product and makes me really question buying "Australian". I want to do my part by supporting Australian business but if this is the quality than sadly China is starting to look half decent.

Holman - Hang your head in shame! – As a company your should be embarrassed for selling such poor quality. 7 star kink resistance is laughable. Fittings don't hold nozzle or sprinkler - they keep coming apart. I'm sorry I purchased it. Show details

Worst hose, ever! – Every week I have a ritual. I take out a pair of scissors and cut out the piece of hose that has split. If it’s not splitting, it’s a kink. If it’s not a kink it’s loosened itself from the hose fittings. Complete rubbish. You would be a fool to purchase Holman hoses.

If you want kinks this is your hose! – This is the worst hose for kinking I have ever bought. I got the 30m Kink resistance hose rated 7 stars from Bunnings. It was kinked in 3 places before I had even unrolled it! I tried leaving it out in the sun with water running through it but it just kinked back in the same places. If I can find the receipt it’s going back to Bunnings otherwise the bin. Show details

A KINKING NIGHTMARE – I bought this hose at Bunnings about 6 weeks ago & paid around $25 instead of buying a cheap hose for around $15 as on the wrapping it stated kink resistant. Absolute rubbish – I bought this as an upgrade to a cheap hose that keeps kinking. This hose apparently has a high resistance to kink - it does not it is worse than my old hose. It is also very stiff so it won’t lie flat or go in a hose reel. To mage matters worse the attachment are week and blow off easily which isn’t helped by the stiffness of the hose that… Read more

garbage – as with all the other reviews, their products are a terrible waste of materials. Hose nozzle will not stay on even with a small amount of water pressure. Why do I indeed to make up 30 words to tell you to avoid this company, not only are they ripping EVERYONE off they are also adding to the destruction of the environment by mass producing useless garbage.

Too big to insert into adaptor, easy to break – I will give -1 if possible. 1. easy to break, once it kink, eay to crack, 2. for some reason, the pipe expended and make it nearly not possible to insert to normal 12mm connector.  Show details

Total Rubbish, don't touch it – I thought I must have accidentally hit the hose with my brush cutter where it simply bust and delaminated, so I put in a hose joiner. This rubbish product just kept swelling up delaminating and splitting. I won't touch any product again with Holman on it.
