DON'T buy a Honda from 1 July 2021 if your smart.
I've owned a Honda Jazz for the past three years. It has always been serviced by Ireland Honda in Lismore and has now over 100,000kms on the clock.
From 1 July Honda's whole business model has changed in Australia, and apparently world wide. The changes are (to be polite), bad.
Today I received a fantasic email from Honda:
In part it states:
Ireland Honda is no longer an Authorised Honda Dealer, but no need to worry about any future sales or servicing requirements as we have a number of other Honda Centres in your area.....
Do Not Buy a brand new Honda
I purchased a brand new Honda HRV RS in September 2020. From day dot I have had issues with my brand new car. The radio/bluetooth not working, the low fuel light does not alert until the car is nearly empty. The most important issue is the car loses power intermittently which can cause a fatal accident. The car has been in and out of Honda for the past 9 months and Honda can not find the fault. They just keep repairing things and the car comes back with the same issue. I did not get what I paid for. The car is a lemon and I do not feel safe dri...ving it. I should receive a brand new vehicle or full refund for this faulty car but Honda refuses. Do not buy a Honda. If you have issues with your car they do not compensate you in any way. The anxiety I am suffering now wondering when my car will lose power driving at any time which could cause a fatality.
Great service from Rex Gorell Honda
Had a serious car accident, with my just less than two year old HRV written off, and a replacement new Honda HRV arranged by my insurer, GIO, from Rex Gorell Honda in Geelong.
Excellent customer service from Curtis Jones, at Rex Gorell Honda, who regularly kept me informed of the progress. He is very thorough, efficient, pleasant and always responds quickly to all communication.
The new car was delivered to my home this weekend on the back of a truck, to my great convenience.
I'm so pleased to be back up and running again, in a new Honda HRV.
Austral Honda Newstead
Visited today 2June 2021. The receptionist tried a number of times to arrange a salesperson to see us. Her service to us was excellent however she had no response to a number of calls so we left.
We felt very uncomfortable for her position.
Don't buy a Honda, because you will be waiting for months on parts! 100% No Customer service
We own a 2005 Honda Accord with not even 70000 km on the clock, it's been looked after really well and it is like brand new.
After going for a drive on March 13, 2021, the ECM light lit up, and so we went to our local Honda Dealer on March 18, 2021 to have it checked out.
We were told that the crank angle sensor is cracked and needs to be replaced! Cracked? Obviously a faulty part since day one!
The local Dealer told us we will have the part in by mid April. Obviously that never happened, as we complained to Honda Australia at num...
HONDA Lawn Mower HRS216K7PKU
Broke down after 5 months, i've been waiting 4 months for Honda to order a spare part from the US.
Still waiting. I lodged a complaint with the NSW Fair Trading. $750.00 mower, useless, it's the worst experience ever.
Airbag deployed for no reason
Honda Accord 2006.
Recall done twice.
Driver side Airbag deployed for no reason.
Took 3 months for Honda to fix it. Begrudgingly paid for by them.
Customer service non existent.
Plastic trim clips for $63. What a rip off.
I recently went to a Honda dealership to buy a few plastic trim clips for my Honda Civic. Honda trim clip sizes are slightly larger than standard ones bought at any auto parts dealer. Yet Honda are so desperate for money they gouge all comers. $63 for ten plastic clips! 10 times that of other brands!
This is the death spiral of a company. Claiming to be customer focused when all they care about is how much money they can make per customer. Sad to see. My whole family have Hondas. Not any more..
I purchased a new Honda CRV. My car has had squeaky brakes since purchase which I have mentioned at every service at the Honda dealership. I've also paid to have the disc rotators machined at my cost for my brand new vehicle twice. The squeak has now gone from a squeak to a groan. I'm now at 65 000km with no resolution in sight. After being told that it's dust, I need to use the brakes harder and other seemingly patronising comments, the latest from the receptionist who clearly is not a mechanic or technician, the service centre has sent a rep...ort to Honda advising there is damage to the disc rotor. Honda apparently has declined getting this replaced under warranty. In fact, no one has rectified the problem or has any plan on what to do next. I've contacted Honda complaints and am now 3-4 weeks on with no answer. So from the service centre to the complaints department I've been left extremely dissatisfied. I would have thought if the head technician identified a problem, it would be easy enough to resolve. It's a real shame because otherwise I'm happy with my car. But service and follow up has been woeful.
HONDA RECALL on the CHEAP CHEAP
Had a recall for a fuel pump over 6 months ago. I made numerous calls and got numerous excuses including, on ship, in Sydney, but item never available. No return of calls from a call in December 2020. This week after I made three more calls I was told part in and it was done on Thursday. However, my wife pick up the car and it stunk so bad of fuel my wife was chocking as she drove home. She said she nearly didn't make it back. I immediately rang Honda Head Office who advised yes the car will smell for a few days, something not notified at any s...tage which I would have thought the right thing to do particularly as in my wife case who was not well. In my opinion just another cheap cheap fix, instead of keeping the vehicle and returning in the same condition as given Honda did not give a care about the customers health, very unprofessional and dangerous. Can have distractions in a car but Honda think it is acceptable to nearly chock to death?
Beware!!! Very unclear and high cost to servicing Honda
Be very wary of servicing at Honda Myaree. They love to hook you in with the lowest service cost possible when asked to quote. Then after dropping off your car, give you a call an hour later and let you know the extras that have to be done! We're not talking about just $50 or $100 difference. My quoted cost was $300+, got a call later and the overall cost went up to $1,100!!!
Some parts were requested by me, but a third of it was left out in the initial quote.
They even have the cheek to offer a discount of $50 when I complained. That's sincerity for you.
Well done, Honda Myaree! Well done.......
Non Existent Service
When one of the company cars got stolen, a Toyota Corolla Sport hatch, I decided to try a new Honda Jazz.
Picked it up 19/1/2021. Car is good but service is non existent. GPS is an important feature for us and like many new cars (annoyingly) you have to get GPS by pairing your smart phone. It seems this feature is not set up correctly on this car. I'm told its a quick fix by plugging in the service computer but the service manager was utterly unhelpful. I remind you this car is less than one week old. The service at my Toyota dealer could...
Terrible Dealer Shellharbour City Motors - Honda Dealer
This is about Shellharbour City Motors Honda Dealership.
---They even don't know how to do a business---
Okay, on the phone they say car (Honda Civic) is only driven 500 kilometres and comes at $24000 with $500 accessories. They say they can consider bringing it down a bit if meet in person. They say the offer expires on 31st December.
When you go meet them, they said the car is 1500 kilometres instead of 500 kilometres. They say they cannot bring the price down (firm at $24000, which I think would be okay). But terrible manager says access...ories will not be included. (even if the offer is valid until 31st December) If you go few days later, and ask for $24000, they said they cannot sell it at that price. They said they updated the price which is $24990. (wait...didn't you say that offer is valid until 31st December? and I'm making offer on 28th December.) Why wasting time of busy people if you cannot stick to your words and promises? This is enough, I am getting a good offer from Volkswagen and Kia who at least keep their promises.
Hondas bought from Wangara Honda.
My wife and I have Hondas which were bought in 2017 (my wife's car , Civic), and early 2019 ( my car, a CR-V). Both were new cars, and both bought at Wangara Honda. Both of us are very happy with our purchases, and the service we get from WH, is very pleasing. In the time we have had our cars there hasn't been any problem whatso ever. I can highly recommend WH, and when the time comes to renew my car, it will highly likely be a new Honda.
Service is terrible
I have no word to describe their service
Worst service experience ever had
I would not recommend this place
Questions & Answers
I have contacted Honda on a number of occasion via mail and telephone regarding damage that occurred to my daughters vehicle whilst in their care (assembly / Service ) which they are in denial of course . When my daughter wrote to Customer Service a Mr Trevor Snowball virtually called her a liar and dismissed any requests that she made. I then got involved and wrote to the head of Customer Service Jackie Cooper who has not even given me the courtesy of a response. More to come
I feel your frustration as I am going through it now myself.
Hi, I have a honda CRV DXG10R. 2018 model. Since 2019 the check system warning light turns on in my car just after driving 10-50kms without any other warning light turning on. I have taken it to several honda service centers over the past year atleast a dozen times and they never have an answer. They just calibrate it and it turns back on again and the technicians say we dont know how to solve it. Can anyone help? I have 5 years of warranty period left.
Being under warranty I simply would not accept the dealer saying they can't fix it, they are just not trying hard enough.
Contact Honda Australia direct and complain. I guarantee someone at Honda can fix this issue.
Hi Saksham, We encourage bringing this to the attention of your Honda Service center. In the case you'd like to discuss the matter further, so not hesitate in reaching our customer support team on 1800 804 954. Thanks
I bough a brand new Honda HR-V (DMW90V) in April 2017 form Parramatta Honda. I have had a rattle noise from the rear of the vehicle since early days and have complained about it in scheduled services. The problem persists and I have wasted a lot of days in getting this fixed by visiting the service center out of turn. I do not think it is being given the attention it should and I have complained multiple times. Can you please take this seriously and help?
Hi Prashant, Thanks for taking the time in bringing the matter to our attention. We shall pass a copy of your comments across to our Customer Service team for review and response. In approx. 7 to 10 business days, you should receive a response in regards to follow up & opportunity to discuss the matter further. Thanks Kiara
