Rear wheel actually fell after bearing collapsed – Very disappointing...agree with other negative comments, but worst issue is the rear wheel actually fell off when mowing nature strip...apparently wheel bearing collapsed after just 26 months of domestic use, mowing my level residential kikuyu lawn. The replacement wheels were very light and have now seized barely 5 months later...assume the bearings again :( Show details
One of the worse machines I have ever purchased – Entering the store the Husqvarna mowers stood out, the typical orange color of their top notch saws. How mistaken I was. After 12 months the stickers began to lift , all plastics began to fade and surface rust affected all non galvanised parts. The mower itself does quite a good job on small areas if the grass is not long or thick. The hight… Read more
adjustment handle is not rigid and the catcher does not function well. It continually clogs at half full and must be emptied. On refitting of the catcher the grass clogs in one corner and you move move or shake the mower to refit it. Please do yourself a favour and spend the same amount on a Victa. Whenever I use this piece of rubbish I just want to stab myself in the face with a blunt pen.
Don't recommend buying this mower – Good: Great build quality with steel adjustable height brackets and good wheels etc Definately better than other brands! Bad: Self propelled function is too fast and leaves grass patches uncut. Once the catcher is full the blades easily clog up and emptying the catcher won't fix the issue once the blades are clogged they are clogged. I am… Read more
constantly having to lean the mower backwards and unclog the grass from around blades. My old 2 stroke never clogged up.
If I knew what I knew now I would've tried another mower.

Self propelled function is fast – One of the fastest self propelled single speed mowers available other brands seem too slow. Clutch engagement is super smooth. Height adjustment is one of the best Ive seen. Powerful motor, but seems louder than other similar Briggs and stratton. Easy to manoeuvre. I moved throttle to right handle or it would rub against pailing fences, easily… Read more
done. Mulches dry grass well. Catcher is somewhat different to other brands. Starts first pull but needs a good yank. Cant see why others have had troubles with theirs. Recommend this mower if your looking for a speedy self propelled function.
Great all round mower – Good mower cuts wet grass pretty good and mines thick and soaked all winter still gets it done great in summer feels tough and good warranty very impressed well done husky Show details
good quality product – We purchased this mower as we were looking for something that would be robust, well-made and last for a long time. This mower is still going strong after 2 years with minimum fuss. We are very happy with it. The brand may be more pricey but it is worth every penny. Show details
Negative reviews
Don't Buy – Unless your lawn is of bowling green standard don't buy this mower, very difficult to manouver on uneven terrain, also heavy to use, would not recommend at all, don't like it at all, back to using my old Briggs and Stratton Lawnmaster Show details
Husqvarna LC 19 - Never again – Faulty design with the catcher door. Plastic strip above door keeps flicking out each time you take the catcher off. Was told Husky were working on a fix. Speaking to their support staff would indicate otherwise. Would not start after two uses. Took it back. Auto choke is a joke and had to be decoked. At least that was done under warrant. Should have stuck with my 30 year old 2 stroke Victor that never missed a beat. Show details
Plastic catcher is junk.... weak... disappointed!! – The mower seems fine so far but the plastic catcher is poorly made too thin on the sides and they split, weak and can not hold much grass clippings coz of the weakness!! Very disappointed!! Show details

Badly designed – Won't cut won't catch. Grass sticks under deck and has to be scraped out. Catcher is an absolute nightmare to detach and reattach. Wheels get clogged with grass. $700 toy. Show details
Dont buy it – Hi everyone. I bought this based on name of Husqvarna after my $200 sanli mower eventually gave up. The mower is seriously under powered for my block which is slightly hilly. I end up pushing it still up the inclines. Set the cutting deck lower than 3 and the mower bogs down on basically thin couch grass. The rear wheel has now seized up and will… Read more
not rotate for the second time. I will again take it back to the dealer. Mower only 14 months old. Last time the dealer said the bearings were full of dirt due to lack of rain etc. Having always mowed my own lawn for 40 years this has never happened before. Don't waste your money on this junk.
Never EVER buy Briggs & Stratton – Needing a mower in a hurry (my other 2 mowers , both B&S, were in for repair) I bought the Husky. Based on years of use of their chainsaws, hedge trimmers, blowers, brushcutters, I thought - how could I go wrong? Almost immediately I notice the motor is hard to start. 10 pulls for a new motor to start is not on. Then I notice the weight -… Read more
this is a heavy piece of equipment. I have to carry this thing up stairs, and push it up slopes. After a day I'm exhausted, it's like pushing a ride-on.
Then I notice the poor design of the handles. The cross bar gets in the way of the handle of the catcher when replacing it. Really basic design flaw; seriously, did anyone even beta test this?
But the worst part is the serious lack of power. One job, which in 20 years has never taken more than 2 hours, had me still working on the backyard after 4 hours. In the end I had to take this mower home and complete the job with a dirty, 30 year-old 2-stroke I had under the house.
This Husky is the worst mower I've ever owned. Period. And the last time I'll ever waste money on anything associated with Briggs & Stratton. I've since gone back to Honda.
Worst mower ever – Worst purchase ever. Thought a B&S motor on a Huskie would be a great combo. Won't go near even slightly wet grass. Just chews the mulch into the undercarriage body and clogs up between the mower blade disk and the body. The airflow is then screwed and it won't fill the catcher. The build up increases until it won't do anything then you have to… Read more
stop and clean out the mulch.
Problem is you don't want to put your fingers near the blades so scrape it out with a stick.. Also, to get to the mulch you tip the mower on the side then guess what, the carb oils up until finally it blows its gasket and you dissapear into a cloud of smoke.
Even when the undercarriage is clean, it doesn't airflow well into the catcher so inevitably you don't get a full catcher and spend more time than you should empting it. When you disconnect the catcher, it drops grass everywhere as it doesn't fill the catcher properly.
The airfilter cover also gets covered in grass and is difficult to clean.
All in all a crap design, is overpriced, and will be the last Huskie I ever buy.

Learn from my pain do not buy – Ok guys l bought this mower with high expectations let me explain in point form how poorly this mower is built. 1. When you fold handle down throttle is on opposite side of carburettor so cable clips fly off + foam handles rub and cut on cylinder head 2. The cutting deck is over an inch lower on maximum then my father-in-law's 20 year old… Read more
Honda.
3. Catcher is a poor design hard to put on on the best of days .
4 . Handle locking tabs pins fallen out lost for good .
5. Tyres come off rims
6. You've been warned .
Average by Husky standards – These are my pros and cons to this mower. The pros - B&S motor starts easily and runs well with the governor meeting the varying loads of the motor beautifully. Plenty of torque to keep the motor running smooth under heavy load. Easily operable self propelled function. Good size wheels negotiate rough patches, exposed tree roots and thick grass.… Read more
4 x swing back blades cut dry grass well.
The cons - Annoyingly difficult to refit the self propelled belt once detached. Belt cover is badly designed with free spinning nylock nuts on the underside of the mower that have to be held in order to remove the bolts from the top. As I found out the mower cannot be tilted, must be serviced level otherwise oil will flood the carby and destroy the paper air filter element. How anyone can change blades without tilting the mower, I'm yet to figure out.
Doesn't pick up damp or dew covered grass, clogs up easily so no mowing first thing in the morning.
It doesnt live up to its brands reputation – I chose the Husqvarna as having owned several chain saws which where all brilliant ,and a friend has a ride on with a Briggs and Stratton motor and no issues at all with those products . thus a push mower from the same company would be equal to that standard ,sadly the Briggs and Stratton 700 series motor is easily flooded if it doesn't start… Read more
straight off ,no fuel isolation tap just the float to seal off fuel . I realize new mowers are rev limited lower for noise and emission regulation but that lack of power makes long grass or wet difficult to cut .i had it back to the dealer and raised these issues the response is it is performing normal ? If you only have short dry grass and dont mind dealing with starting issues some days then it is ok ,as it is still better than a lot of the other brands out there now.For a recommendation i would say by a Honda
Orange, the new colour of a lemon – Looks the goods but struggles to meet the basic needs of a mower. Mulches horribly and has been back to the dealer twice inside six months. Now having issues starting it and am struggling with the dealer and manufacturer as this mower just isn’t good enough for the money spent. Wont be buying husqvarna ever again. Show details
What a flop – Thinking of buying a "quality" Swedish product and requested not a Chinese made model I was assured the motor Briggs/Stratton was made in US and cutting deck in Sweden. Less than 6 weeks in use the self propelled belt came undone and was 3 weeks in repair. Low and behold now 5 month old the arm/lever to hold the self propelled in the engaged… Read more
position has now twice
fallen out.
The mower itself seems to have no grunt and blades appear to be blunt. It literally a hobby machine and not as the salesperson said of semi commercial quality.
It also does not cut past the wheelbase on one side as most mowers do, therefore the wheels block the very edge and requires hand trimming of the edge.
Very disappointed, would not recommend it...bought it on so called Husqvarna/Swedish quality but could have bought for half price a bodgey Chinese mower which would have at least lasted a year....
Plenty of power. poor blade mulch setup – The machine s only good point is plenty of power. The blade mulch cutting set up is a poorly designed subgrade preschool effort. Only option is for me is to seek aftermarket rebuild. As a professional Im feeling let down by husky for not assisting to improve their problems. It is heavy to lift and operate in confined spaces. Husky needs to talk to us guys who use their machines in all conditions. Show details
So easy to use! – I recently bought this mower and as someone with a bad back I absolutely love it. The pull cord requires very little effort to get it started and the self propelled feature makes it so much easier on my back. Would definitely recommend to anyone who struggles with pushing a regular mower. Show details
Excellent product – The mower cuts with ease I have buffalo grass which is very thick but the mower is bery easy to maneuver through the lawn. The mower is a four stroke which makes it easy to fuel up with no need to mix oil in the fuel. I like the fact that it's easy to start and would be great for anyone to use. Show details
Disappointing – From day one mower seemed to struggle to cut grass. Seemed to bog down as soon as it hit a thicker patch; then the recovery to higher revs seemed to take overly long. Took it back to the dealer to see if there was something wrong with it I was told that it was operating normally. Can't recommend it. Show details

Great mower no issues after three years – Cutting thick grass in Cairns has been a breeze with the 19a, always a good result and it smashes through thick buffalo without issue. I keep my blades sharp and always check oil and filters, always rewarded with a great mow Will caution that it’s a heavy mower, if you are lacking in strength maybe this mower is not for you Show details
Will do a reasonable job if you mow twice – The cut is very poor and requires a second cut. It seem to matter what cutting hight is used or how slow you push it It doesn't catch the clippings very well. The mower is badly balanced and too heavy. It starts easily but seems to lack blade speed. Overall, it is overpriced and underperforms. Badly designed. Show details
Feel like a female taken for a ride. Gutless! – Yes the mower cuts well, that's about all. Difficult to manoeuvre due to--wheels and weight. I'm a pensioner with a bad back which I explained to the sales person. I did more pushing than it so called self propelled did! I've done half my lawn, too sore to continue. Expected a lot more for $800 it will be taken back as soon as I can get someone to help me lift into my car. Oh it did't like thick grass. Show details
Terrible do not buy one – The worst lawn mower I have ever had, gutless cannot power through thick grass patches and stalls half way through so you end up mowing lawn twice. Hard to maneuver, though the big wheels would help. It has no cutting side edge, you cannot cut grass close to fence line. I have tried leaving it on the foot path for somebody to steal so I can at… Read more

OK once you can get it started – UPDATE 30th March 2020 - Don't buy one of these mowers! For the second time in 3 years the motor has seized. The company won't do anything about. Good mower with a large cutting blade. It can be very difficult to start especially after sitting for a couple of weeks. It has an automatic choke and once started runs really well and cuts the grass on… Read more
my acre of gardens very well. Does use a little much petrol, but the larger engine and the 19 inch cutting blade probably causes that. Has a good range of height adjustments that handle all situations. Well built.
Great Disappointment – Replace a 25 year old Victa Mustang with this unit. Has done very little work as it is hard to start despite the fact that it claims otherwise on the engine cover (just reinforces why I should not have bought something with a Briggs and Stratton engine). The catcher is absolute rubbish - a gumnut smashed a hole straight through it and the… Read more
"filters" on the side clog easily and then fall apart. Unit will not throw damp grass to the back of the catcher and forget about trying to cut wet grass with the mower as it is almost useless at this - even with the cut set at the highset setting.
Only thing in its favour is that as a four stroke you don't have mix two stroke fuel - by comparison with the Mustang (which has a Vortex function on the blades disk) it is even poor at picking up dry grass.
And whoever the dumb designer was that came up with "agressive" looking treads across the face of the wheels clearly doesn't have dogs! Treads are a great dog doing catcher - as well as wet grass - and the front wheels also collect grass around the axles..............
Not the quality I expected from the Husqvarna brand - only reason I didn't buy a Honda powered unit of a similar size is that they too have terrible catchers (clog at the entry with wet grass) and have the dumb and unecessary auto-stop when you take your hands off the handle...........
If you are too dumb to use a mower safely without it turning off when you go to remove the grass catcher you should get someone else to mow your lawns............
Very happy with this mower! – After researching for a few weeks, finally settled on this self-propelled mower for my backyard. It had come down to two brands in the end- Husqvarna or Masport. Both are good brands as far as mowers go. Went into Paul's at Richmond and was able to compare both brands side by side. Husqvarna won! Based on features and price. Started using it and… Read more
found it to be very good. Build quality is great. Starts easily. Self-propelled feature is great for bigger backyard and it goes pretty easily uphill.
I would recommend it if you've got a bigger backyard and plan to keep it for a few years. I'll be getting it serviced annually.
Great mower – Recently bought the LC19A and so far it's been an unreal mower. Very happy with the way it cuts and catches. I mulch the front yard and along the front and rear nature strips and the mulching feature works very well with their "bioclip" process cutting the mulch nice and fine. Yes it's a big heavy mower but that doesn't bother me, it's easy to… Read more
move around the yard and around trees etc. with its larger ball bearing wheels and good handle set up.
Always starts on the second pull, plenty of power and nice and quiet.
At first I was a little disappointed with the size of the catcher but the mower fills it well and gets quite a bit in with the way it cuts.
The only criticism I have is the bottom of the catcher being a bit close to the ground which hits the grass if you go for a big turn.
Other than that I can't fault it
great ! Loads of power and torque – As my lawns were up to 'crutch high' (I am 6'), was expecting some tough work. The mower coped on half throttle easy. The obligatory second pass to make sure I got all the grass was it. All down to the highest setting. I will chop down to about fourth or fifth height setting, then looks like will be able to mow on at 'idling' revs. The only complaint is that the stickers have all come off with washing it after use?? Even the Husqvana logo!! Show details
Great Mower - Easy to Start – Great mower. A little heavy to lift. Starts 1st time every time. Cuts grass with a clean finish. As with all 4 strokes, don't put too much oil in as it can get messy. I use the mulched which makes it so easy. Definitely would recommend this mower for anybody who wants professional results
Beware of this mower! – Recently bought a Husqvana LC19A from a reputable dealer on the Central Coast. Did my homework, read reviews, etc. Had a Honda that lasted me 15 years and had it serviced once. It was a great mower and would recommend them all day long. So why buy a Husqvana I hear you say, good question. They have made the new Honda's completely different to the… Read more
older model's so I tried to get a similar type to my old mower, bad move. The Husqvana cost me over $700.00 dollars and is nothing like my old faithful. From day one it took 10 to 15 pulls to start the mower, asked the dealer and that was apparently normal just get them to have a look at it on its first service which was suppose to cost me $25. The mower is very heavy when it's on the lawn and takes a lot of strength to do a normal size lawn. Paint around body is peeling off, also normal again from dealer and catcher is a bit of a nightmare to empty. Took it in for it's 5 hour running time service and at this time was taking at least 20 pulls to get it started. Dealer informed me they would look at it while doing the service. On picking up the mower I was told the carby was filthy and blocked so they had to clean it long story short cost me $90 for this service "wow" only mowed the lawn three times and washed it down after every use. Would definitely not recommend this mower save your money and buy a Honda you won't be sorry.
Glad I bought it – Yep I bought it first then decided one day to find some reviews. Firstly if I'd seen the reviews first I wouldn't have bought it but I'm glad I didn't because I read these reviews and it's like they are all talking about a different machine altogether. Yes the catcher looks flimsy and the lid too but it holds up well as I treat it with care.… Read more
Starts straight away, is very quiet, good on fuel and has a very good finish.
