Husqvarna PW 460 Questions & Answers

Hi Kevin - The major difference between the PW360 and the PW460/PW490 is in the pump materials. The PW360 has a cheaper construction pump with an aluminium alloy housing and stainless pistons. The PW460/PW490 has a brass pump housing and ceramic-coated pistons, ensuring longer life and greater durability. The only difference I can see between the PW460 and the PW490 is that the noise level has gone down - from 92dB to 89dB. This indicates that Husqvarna have just added some extra sound insulation to the unit. All the other specifications are identical between the PW460 and PW490. For the extra couple of hundred dollars I'd be buying the PW460 or PW490. There may be some PW460's left in stock. I have had the PW460 for a year and a half now, and it has performed like a champ in all that time, getting used for 2-3 hrs at a time, around 3 to 4 days of the week, in my workshop mostly. I can't fault it, the overall design is excellent, from the great hose reel, to the rotating nozzle that cleans very well.

Is this model still getting good reviews and can someone confirm if the PW360 is suited to domestic applications 3-4 hours workload stripping decks or should i spend the additional cost for the PW460? Has the 460 model been re-released as the PW 490 as i can see this is the latest model offered for sale?

The Husqvarna PW460 is made in Italy.
