I wish I had read the reviews about this company before I purchased an item from them. The item was clearly a factory seconds with a mended breakage in the middle. refused to pay for return postage (had to be sent back to the UK from Australia despite moonlighting as an Australian company). This company is an utter con. They must sell factory seconds and then con you into keeping the item because of exorbitant return postage costs. I will be making a complaint to the relevant consumer body.

powered LED bulb and the other was for an ordinary bulb. Then I noticed that one light had already been used and had the plastic glass insert was cracked. It even had the marks on the lamp where somebody had screwed it down to the pillar and taken it off again. Some pieces were missing. I wrote to ([Name Removed]) who is the customer service manager of this company. Strangely enough, they do not have an active phone line. (No phone line is the first indication of problems) So you can only get in contact by ticket on an e mail. This e mail is only replied to every 2 days! So the answer I got from [Name Removed] was that “they did not sell used goods and that he would deal with his staff for not checking the lights before departure”
So [Name Removed] sent a courier a few days later to pick up these lights from us. In the mean time we decided we would buy a third light. So to my surprise , the third light arrived on its own about a week later. Guess what? It was the wrong light. It was a led lamp instead of an ordinary bulb lamp.
After speaking with [Name Removed] by e mail explaining that I had been sent an LED lamp ,I decide I would buy the high powered bulbs for these lamps thinking that the two I was waiting on to arrive would be the same LED fittings. The bulbs cost me €150.
Then there was no sign of the other two replacement lights to arrive. So I e mailed [Name Removed] again and his reply was that they had sent the two lights out on delivery with DPD and they were sent back to them again! Yet again I had to e mail [Name Removed] to query where my lights were.
He replied he would send them out again to me and he gave me a tracking number. They arrived the next day. WAIT FOR IT,,,, When I opened the box , they were different to the third lamp I had received a few days before.
I wrote to [Name Removed] again and he refused to send me the matching lamps to support the LED bulbs that I had bought. He said he would send me the original piece that I had ordered that was not LED. Which he did but, then I noticed the the bulb holders that he sent was different on them all. ( 2x Plastic and 1 x porcelain)
The LED bulb/lamps I have bought now are no good to me and I am out of pocket due to ideas4lighting mistake. Why should I be out of pocket? Why was my order not correct from the start? I purchased from them in good faith. I asked [Name Removed] for a full refund. He replied he would not refund me and that he had completed my order. If I wanted a refund , I would have to send the whole order back to them at my own expense.
PLEASE DO NOT GET CAUGHT LIKE I DID AND GET MESSED AROUND BY THIS COMPANY. IDEAS4LIGHTING. [Name Removed] is the person that answers all the e mails. It seems like he is ordering from another company when you buy off his website. “Asbac” lighting was printed on the boxes that my incorrect lights were delivered. They seem to be the supplier.
I have reported ideas4lighting to the Trading standards in NI and the consumer protection in RI.

carefully stored on receipt and that I hadn't opened the box for fear that I might damage the light or damage it trying to repack it. Just totally unreasonable.
Horrendous customer service – I have never experienced such terrible service. We recently ordered a garden spotlight. The light arrived in a damaged box. We returned the light as we could not find a matching light. We were told that because the light was on clearance sale we could not be refunded. Furthermore, we would have to organise our own shipment if we wanted the light back again. I feel like we have been robbed. It is absolutely appalling.
DO BUY! – Online store sells glass light fittings that is broken on arrival. No customer service response on the timeframe they set. Do not buy at all. It's cheap for a reason because it's a trap.
Very Bad Experience – This is the worst company I have dealt with. Ordered some lights 2 months ago, when they didn’t arrive I followed up twice and no answer. Checked my credit card and there was a full refund, but no notification, no explanation, nothing! Should have looked at reviews first.
Fraud – Do not buy from them. I dont even have any energy left to go through details. These guys are Fraud. Not a terrible supllier with bad customer service or poor quality. They're just fraud. Also Google their products before buying. You can find similar products for one tenth of their price.

shade which we discovered after the electricians had installed the fittings and were lastly to do the shades when the anomaly was discovered. Upon reporting this to ideas4lighting, they refused to accept a return even after acknowledging the shade must have been from a different batch, tough luck I guess. As I couldn’t return all. I ordered a 4th shade which was silver. Having not unpacked everything except the shade I was wanting to return the wrong one with new and untouched fittings. They agreed to take a return on this basis. Well it gets worse. Notwithstanding it was their error in the first place they will charge 10pct restocking fee upon Its return, and shipping costs are for me to pay which I refuse as a matter of principle. No good will here. Lastly, I read earlier others doubting they are meeting taxation rules when shipping to Australia. Your shipper will require you to pay GST before release for delivery, their prices should include GST. In closing this is a company one should avoid at all costs.

this at the point of purchase - I only just managed to scrape together the extra money (that was allocated for something else) to be able to receive the lights. Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to ‘find’ an additional and unexpected $600. Shame on this company for not being upfront with its customers and misleading them into thinking they are an Australian-based company.
Stay Away From This Shady Business – Stay away!! Stay away!! Stay away!! Horrible customer service. Items take forever to arrive, and then you will be charged a huge custom duty/tax (>25% of the items price) upon the arrival of the items in your country.

no way I would do that as I don't believe I'd receive a refund given their terrible service. When a company makes an error you're supposed to resolve it not make excuses and make the customer pay. Absolutely rude.
Poor item descriptions and customer service – DO NOT BUY FROM IDEAS4LIGHTING!!! will not admit to their fault. The chandeliers I ordered were not the colour pictured or described. Custom duty is charged when you receive the parcel (something they’ve mentioned in fine print if you read the delivery page. Not warned at checkout). Horrible customer service - do not care if the customer is happy or not.
Do not buy ANYTHING from this company – Products are faulty, take months to arrive and will incur an import tax if you are in Australia. The tax is hundreds of dollars.

misleading and fraudulent sales tactics. What a surprise that they refused to co-operate with the ACCC who investigated on my behalf.

Beware of Fraudulent Product – Beware of fraudulent products. Our Kichler Chandelier arrived as scheduled. On top of the purchase price, I did have to pay $108 US duty before the fixture could be delivered. Upon opening the box I immediately saw that the fixture color was not as pictured. but I could return the fixture (this would cost me 10% of the purchase price to return the fixture plus the loss of the $108 duty.
I contacted Kichler customer service to inquire if the chandelier came in optional colors. It did not. The customer service rep also confirmed the color as shown on ideas4lighting website.
The real issue is that Kichler discontinued the chandelier we purchased from ideas4lighting in 2015. The box for the chandelier clearly stated it was a Kichler product. However, the manufacture date as noted on a component of the chandelier was 5/2/2018. Kichlier does have at least some of its products produced in China where my chandelier was produced. However, given the manufacture discontinuation date and the actual manufacture date, I can only assume this was an unauthorized product. This could also explain the color variation.
When I questioned the authenticity of the product, I received no response from ideas4lighting.
Never purchase from this company – The worst online shopping experience I have ever had!! This company’s website and policies are intentionally misleading or deceiving and in breach of the Australian Consumer Law. Do not purchase from this company. If my issue is not promptly resolved I will take this company to task and will be issuing proceedings against the company.
Misleading Scam Company – I recently made a purchase on this website and within 7 days communicated I would need to cancel it. know this is not true information per the terms of services I signed (a small link buried in walls and walls of text as part of the sign out flow) which mentioned I couldn't return anything "custom made"
As you can see, this is purposely misleading and honestly a lawsuit waiting to happen. If you are unable to cancel an item within 7 days, it should be stated on the product page.
I would not recommend purchasing from a place with such dishonest communication practices.
Dangerous and potentially fatal fault in lamp – I bought two lamps from Ideas4lighting and one did not work so I informed the company. lamp and he found that the active and earth wires were transposed within the body of the lamp holder causing a potentially dangerous situation where the entire metal lamp body was live with 240 volts. It was sheer luck that no one who had been attempting to fix the lamp by changing bulbs and looking for the 'copper pin' had actually touched the metal part of the lamp when it was plugged in. The electrician was genuinely concerned and said this dangerous fault could have had fatal consequences so in the interest of consumer safety, I informed Ideas4lighting about the faulty lamp and had this nonsensical response from Callum:
"In regards to the repair of the item, as you have confirmed the electrician has checked the product and needs repairing to the copper pin, the copper pin needing repaired would be from when a bulb being inserted causing this issue, so this damage can only be down to personal damage and we don't cover costs for repair on personal damage to items."
This is my first negative review of a company and I am doing it in the interests of consumer safety. It's such a shame this happened as the lamps look fabulous and are quite unique.

multiple delivery attempts, they have refused to accept the return item and have been deliberately difficult and as such I have not been refunded as I was promised. Furthermore, the business is located in Great Britain but are clearly marketed and advertised as an Australian business. Would give zero star if I could. Save yourself some trouble and do not buy from this company.

The cost of the courier as a genes public is way more expensive that for companies. Ideas4lighting is highway robber! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - BE WARNED! – Extremely bad service. I recently bought a set of light and when the shipment arrived i was asked to pay nearly 50% of the cost in duty tax. I was not initially informed of this. When i did not want to pay the tax, they then forced me to pay the duty tax saying they did not want the item and if i did not pay the item will be destroyed and that there will be no refund.
Wrong light supplied. No response from supplier – I ordered a light fitting from this company. Waited some weeks for it to arrive. Good tracking process provided with DHL. But the company sent me the wrong light. I've been emailing them regularly ever since, provided photographs of the light that arrived, but after the first exchange, no further response from them.
