Makes life easier – Originally purchased from Target during a sale this robot vacuum is a great mid range offering. It cleans the general living areas (carpet & lino) more than adequately. I recommend emptying the bin & cleaning the device with a damp cloth after each job. Easy to manage through the app with notifications given for replacing parts, length of cleaning… Read more

jobs, etc. I have purchased replacement parts on Ebay for a fraction of the cost compared to the Roomba website. Owning this product has reduced my housework load - a win!

Waste of money – Not reliable. Only good in the first few months. Also, we weren’t told that the roomba recognizes dark colored carpets as “cliffs” what a joke. Not recommended at all. Show details

Exciting to start with but now getting frustrated – I bought the 670 model as it it was in my price range and had relatively good reviews on Choice. I set it to vacuum 3 days a week while I am at work. I have hybrid flooring throughout. I learnt very quickly to move certain items to avoid the Roomba from become stuck or tangled. Some cleaning days it has stopped because battery has run out. Some… Read more

areas are not cleaned and some rooms are over cleaned. I am unable to set it up so that I can specify areas to clean. I am unable to find anything on line that can help me. Starting to think I should have spent a bit more money on a more reliable robo vac.

Great in the first year – Even though it had stacks of room for improvement, I loved it in the beginning, but as time passed it became increasingly deficient. It has had problems in the following areas... Getting stuck on furniture parts. Staying in one area for long periods. Not sucking bits up on hard floors. Sucking up then dropping out. Turning in circles for ages.… Read more

Docking problems. Battery dies without the low battery light coming on. Doing the same med-small area/corner over and over again. Going perfectly along the skirting board then randomly changing direction before its finished the run. Announcing the job's finished when there's still many bits (bird seed) on the carpet. Carpet performance is as I'd expect, not great. One mind boggling design fault is having the spinning brush on one side only... Why not BOTH sides? Currently, on hard floors it picks up around ¼ to ½ of all dust, dog hair and small bits. Also it leaves masses of fluff every time it goes onto low carpet and mats from a tiled area. I would love another one, if I knew it'd work properly for a lot longer than a year.

It does not work properly thus it will be going back to the store – We bought it for ourselves for Xmas 2022 on Boxing day. It is very loud. It crashes into furniture. It moved the side table! It violently slammed into a large glass lantern. Randomly navigates in a diagonal bump hit n miss random way and goes over same spot many times but misses other spots in the next pass. It moved our kitchen chairs!. It… Read more

does not finish one room before it randomly finds its way to another part of the house. Then it runs out of battery before it can finish the house and it cannot dock. We had an Xiaomi Roborock S5 for years and loved it so much and I have written a review and many updates until it finally died. It mapped the room and systematically cleaned each area before it moved onto the next. We should have bought another Xiaomi but didn't because they have gone up so much in price! We saw the Roomba in the store and it looked like a solid build and it was on special so we bought one home. On the basis that the Roomba does not do it's job properly, we are taking the Roomba back to the store. No Robot vac could be that out of control. It must be faulty. I should have consulted product review first, I see here that the model we bought yesterday is labeled discontinued!

Nice idea but misses the mark – I bought the Roomba a couple of weeks ago and have now used it 3 times. Has completely failed just outside warranty, was moderately satisfied with it prior – After great reviews from a number of family members regarding their Robot vacuum cleaners (both Roomba and other brands), we decided to give one a go. We have a large open plan living / dining area that is tiled, along a tiled hallway, to the bathroom and laundry (also tiles). I was already aware from family members' experience that these… Read more

vacuums are not effective on carpeted surfaces.

At first, we were reasonably happy with this product. We would run it two or three days a week while everyone was at work / school, in order to pick up the loose dust, food crumbs and pet hair through the common areas and just assist us with the weekly floor cleaning. We shut all the bedroom doors so that it couldn't travel into the carpeted areas, and lifted the dining chairs to give it a clear run around the dining table.

Most days, we would return to find it docked and re-charging, and full as expected. Occasionally, we would find it stopped in the hallway, presumably because it had insufficient charge to return to the charging dock (which was located in the dining area, approximately central to the general area for cleaning. More often than I would have liked we would find it wedged under the back of one of the recliners, having only cleaned about 1/3 to 1/2 of the area. In the end, I started moving the recliner hard against the wall so it would go behind there.

When it got the whole floor cleaned, we were very happy with the outcome. It did make a big difference to the general cleanliness of the house, and because it was operating when we were all away from home, it didn't disturb us.

I did notice that it was fairly noisy. If you were operating it while you were home, I'm sure it would be pretty annoying. It also needed some frequent cleaning above emptying the dust catcher and washing the filter (it came with two filters, so we would wash and place one out to dry after each use, and reload with the second one, ready to go). As a family with long-haired ladies, we found that we often had to remove the roller and detangle the hairs that were wrapped around it. We also used the screwdriver to regularly unscrew the little triple brush and pull out the hairs trapped under there, as they inhibited it from spinning freely. We found doing this every fifth or sixth use ensured the best operation. It wasn't particularly time-consuming, but did require a little effort.

One of the things I was initially concerned about was damage to the furniture from bumping into it. That was an unfounded concern. It would bump the furniture only very softly and we never had an issue with damage.

The biggest disappointment came after we had owned the unit about 18 months (the standard warranty is 12 months, and we didn't purchase extra). In the middle of the night, it started beeping and carrying on, and from that point, it wouldn't seem to charge properly and it won't clean the floors. We've tried all the standard troubleshooting, and nothing has worked. Considering the price (and the fact that it wasn't the bottom of the line model), this makes it a very disappointing product.

I will try another Robot vacuum cleaner, but not a Roomba iRobot.

Pros: Ideal for cleaning hard floors, especially while you're away from house, battery capable of managing standard sized four bedroom lowset home. Cons: Can get stuck on some furniture; noisy; needs regular maintenance; product didn't last sufficient time to justify the initial outlay price.

Battery runs flat, doesn't return to charge, poor service – We have all tile floors and initially the Roomba did a fantastic job of cleaning. However after only a few months the battery did not last as long and the roomba started to fail to return to the charging station. When returned for warranty they wanted to charge a $100 service fee. System was returned after the service centre could not replicate the issue to have the same issues happen from day one. Show details

How do I love thee ? – Oh, let me count the ways I love this little Robot. I purchased from Harvey Norman, got it home and promptly named it Cruze. is…I’m generally sitting in the sun with a coffee and the crosswords. If it gets stuck, I get a notification on my phone. I’ve learned now where it’s ‘getting stuck’ places are so I block them off with a stool so it’s all plain sailing. When it’s done, it slides back to it’s charging dock and reconnects itself. I get a notification to say the job is completed. I’m always amazed at the thorough job it’s done and have been know to remark to Cruze… ‘another splendid job, thank you’…husband was sceptical at first but now appreciates the great job Cruze does for us. The cat still watches with a condescending look on his face, but it’s picking up the kitty litter that he kicks about in the laundry, so he should be as impressed as I am. Would highly recommend this appliance.

Didn't think I would like it this much – I bought the Roomba almost on a whim, but it has certainly exceeded my expectations and I haven't had to vacuum myself since. It's best not to watch the vacuum while it cleans. It does bounce off walls and appears to mindlessly make it's way around our home, but there is definitely a method to the madness and on every occasion the Roomba has… Read more

cleaned the house perfectly and made its way back to the dock to charge.

I find that it's best to think of it like a dishwasher - you don't just haphazardly throw your dishes into the dishwasher and expect it to clean properly. Similarly, a bit of prep is required to tidy up around the house before activating the Roomba.

If you are looking to buy a robot vacuum, I would suggest buying one that suits your home and lifestyle rather than just the 'best' one, as they all have their own specialties. Being that I live in a small uncluttered home, the 670 has been ideal. However in a bigger home, or where you would rather a more set-and-forget approach, a robot with intelligent mapping and a self-emptying bin would be more suitable.

Not that smart. Not worth the price – We've had the vacuum now for a year. We live in a double storey house with timber floor. We bought a spare charger for upstairs and will alternate vac days. in a crazy all different direction kind of way. Because of this it misses a lot of areas. For example under our bed I can see where it missed due to dust. I've also made sure I notice where dirt is and it hasn't picked it up. You definitely still need to vacuum after using this robo vac which defeats the purpose. It's sensor prevents it from toppling down the stairs. To be honest, I wish we never got it and got something else. It's a waste of money certainly not worth the price. I wouldn't recommend this vac at all.

Daily dog hair cleanup, no effort anymore! – RECOMMENDED. SO love this little machine, saves me hours of misery and allergies with old stinker. Convenient. Battery only ran low after a hefty TWO hours on all the floors in the house - I went crazy. Short recharge time. Simple small dirt chamber, must empty often but this means it empties into bathroom bin between charges. So easy. CON: Needs help to find the dock, I will try to relocate as instruction states. Does find it eventually, it reaches time limit that I have set and docks. Or I move it manually, Fabulous.

I set it to start and finish before I get up, so I find the rooms CLEAN. LOVE this thing.

Waste of money – The vacuuming part itself is fine, we have a golden retriever and it saves me a huge amount of time vacuuming so much when this goes 3 mornings a week on the floor boards. Good Overall, But Temperamental – The iRobot Roomba 670 is the bottom of the range, but at $619 it's still quite an investment. It does a good job I guess, but it's such a hassle. floors a clean while everybody is out of the house for the day, but generally in the afternoon we will have to go looking for it to un-tangle it from whatever it was stuck in this time and get it back on the dock. If it is not tangled in something, then it has a wheel stuck, or the battery has gone flat before it could find the base station. I would say that 1 out of 10 days ends with a successful clean without human intervention.

Obviously, these things are less of a hassle than having to vacuum yourself, but I do hate that I have spent all of this money to create more problems for myself.

Overall, it's not so bad that it deserves 3 stars, but it is certainly not worthy of 5.

I have 2 cats, and it picks up the hair pretty well, but as it's the "basic" version (which still cost $700+ mind you!) it goes over the same spot alot, and eventually makes a sad little noise and dies somewhere after about 45 mins - usually somewhere annoying like the middle of under the bed or… Read more

It’s hard to tell why it will go back to same areas maybe because it senses it has more dirt compared with others. It does get under some furniture but not all.
